Race 1   MOLLOY CONTRACTING 2YO MOBILE TROT
KINGS CHOICE - driver N Williamson reported the gelding had raced greenly throughout.
CHOCTA - lay out near the 550m when leading having to be straightened by driver R Close.
CARLTON BAY - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DELPHYNE - broke as the start was effected losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
Race 2   OHM SWEET OHM PACE
MIKI BROWN - tangled away. Broke after 100m losing ground.
EDICT - driver T Williams reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre leaving the final bend.
GOTTA LATHER UP - trainer W Stevenson was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race with fixed deafeners which had not been notified. Paced roughly leaving the final bend after becoming awkwardly placed to the inside of EDICT making contact with that runner's sulky wheel hampering a trailing runner. Driver J Dunn admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when allowing his horse to strike the sulky wheel of EDICT which punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
CONNIE GOLIGHTLY - broke in the early stages losing ground. Hampered leaving the final bend and paced roughly.
SHE'S A LADY - lay inwards throughout the run home.
SWIFT MAJOR - weakened early in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver G O'Reilly advised the gelding had raced lethargically. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 3   MIKE GREER HOMES TROT
The start was delayed due to SPOTLIGHT refusing to come into line hampering an inside runner with the field being turned away to readdress the barriers. SPOTLIGHT was placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
DIAMOND HARBOUR - broke after 150m losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 800m. Weakened from the 500m.
SPOTLIGHT - lay inwards throughout the run home.
ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL - held up early in the run home.
CALL DUDLEY - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. Connections advised they would give consideration to sending the gelding for a spell.
JORDAN ANNE - held up early in the run home.
SPECIAL EFFECTS - broke near the 1900m losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Weakened from the 500m.
SHEILA LAXON - held up early in the run home when laying inwards.
ROCK LOBSTER - broke near the 800m hampering a trailing runner losing ground.
RACHMANINOV - raced wide early.

WAR CRY - lay inwards leaving the final bend striking track markers.
MIKI'S DEAL - held up for clear racing room inside the final 150m and hung outwards having to be steadied.
TREACHEROUS ME - held up early in the run home.
THE QUEENS GAMBIT - held up in the middle stages of the run home.
SECRET WISH - raced wide early. Awkwardly placed close to the sulky of ALECTO rounding the first bend when there was an easing of the pace having to be steadied.
WAT NEXT - pre-race warmed.
ALECTO - raced wide early. Forced to race wide for a distance near the 700m. Held up for clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver M Purdon advised he did not activate the removable gear in consequence.
Race 5   GALLAGHER INSURANCE ASHBURTON 3YO SHOWCASE (MOB PACE)
FIVE CROWNS - weakened final bend.
BAR LOUIE - weakened early in the run home.
GOT THE CHOCOLATES - pre-race warmed.
RUBIRA - hung outwards rounding the final bend.
Connections advised Stewards on 5 November that MARKETPLACE has had its joints treated since last racing.
Race 6   NEUMANNS TYRES VIPAL HAMBLETONIAN 3YO CLASSIC (MOB TROT)
YA RITE DARL - connections advised the filly would be racing in season.
MAJOR DOOSIE - held up final bend before being hampered by a breaking runner near the 500m.
ROGUE HERO - raced wide early. Broke near the 500m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
SNOOOWGOOD - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start and broke shortly after losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
YA EEJIT YA - raced wide from the 900m.
TARRAGINDI - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
HAVE A LITTLE FAITH - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver N Williamson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Broke near the 900m losing all chance.
HABIBTI PAT - hung outwards and broke after 100m losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming. Broke again near the 700m losing all chance.
MEANT TO BE - trotted roughly and broke near the 1250m losing ground prior to improving wide to race in the parked position near the 700m.
Race 7   MID CANTERBURY TROTTING OWNERS LADIES' SPRINT (MOB PACE)
RUBY ROE - lay outwards late in the run home.
TOKYO ROSE - raced wide from the 600m. Hung inwards final bend and in the run home.
CLASSIE LINC - weakened final bend.
MANTRA BLUE - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 900m.
LAKELSA - lay outwards early in the run home and was held up for clear racing room until inside the 50m. Stewards questioned driver R Close regarding his decision to shift outwards early in the run home when a run to the inside of RUBY ROE was available. Mr Close advised that at the time he elected to shift outwards, there appeared to be only marginal room to his inside, and a run to the outside was presenting when FRANCENT lay outwards, however this option closed shortly after. After hearing from Mr Close and reviewing the replays, Stewards were satisfied that his decision was not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.
SEASIDE ROSE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 8   NEVELE R 3YO FILLIES SERIES HEAT 7 (MOBILE PACE)
GONE SURFIN - late scratching at 8.46am on Veterinary advice.
CELESTIAL SEA - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
SWEET MAGGIE MAE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
GENERAL JEN - raced wide early.
WINELIGHT - raced wide from the 600m.
Race 9   TACTICAL LANDING ASHBURTON TROTTERS SPRINT (MOBILE TROT)
MR LOVE - co-trainers G & B Hope were issued a warning for being late to notify the gelding would be racing with blinds.
BET N WIN - switched to a pace near the 140m and lost ground before returning to a trot near the 100m. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had been in the incorrect gait for less than 50m and had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
EMPIRE CITY - raced wide early and attempted to shift inwards near the 1200m having to be restrained losing ground.
MAUI - raced wide early.
HIDDEN TALENT - broke racing into the first bend losing ground.
Connections advised Stewards on 5 November that BET N WIN has had its coffin joints treated since last racing.
Race 10   WOODLANDS 2YO C & G SIRES STAKES HEAT 5 (MOBILE PACE)
FREEZE FRAME - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
MAMA'S WISH - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
EUN SOGNO - held up early in the run home.
SPECIAL OCCASION - the required veterinary clearance was received. Raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 900m. Weakened early in the run home.
MOVE IT LOU - paced roughly when weakening rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners.
CRITICAL IMAGE - held up early in the run home.
INCENTIVISE - raced wide early.
ALLAMERICANPLAYER - raced wide from the 800m.
RELAPSED - weakened from the 400m.
MYSTERY CREEK - raced wide early. Hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
SONOFAMISTERY - raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 1000m.

Following this race the track was downgraded to Easy.
Race 11   NZB AIRFREIGHT ASHBURTON FLYING STAKES (STAND PACE)
AKUTA - the required veterinary clearance was received.
RENEGADE - broke briefly at the start before being checked by an outside runner with driver B Butt being unbalanced in the sulky. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1500m when RENEGADE briefly raced wider on the track. After viewing the replays it was established that the field had been racing loosely and DON'T STOP DREAMING (S Ottley) had shifted outwards prior to RENEGADE reaching its sulky wheel and no further action was required. Weakened early in the run home.
FRANCO MAREK - broke at the start and shifted inwards making contact with the sulky of RENEGADE losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened early in the run home.
ALTA METEOR - held up early in the run home.
REPUBLICAN PARTY - pre-race warmed. Raced wide early. Driver C Dalgety advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
WAG STAR - broke at the start losing ground. Held up early in the run home.
THE SURFER - held up early in the run home.
Race 12   MAINLAND WOOL MOBILE PACE
LOVEYOURMOTHER - weakened final bend.
HEAVEN - weakened from the 600m.
KOWHAI NUGGET - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 600m hampering a trailing runner. Driver S Ottley reported she had steering difficulties throughout.
SWEET RAINE - driver L O'Reilly was issued a warning for half carting for a distance passing the 1700m.
LILY'S A STAR - held up by a weakening runner passing the 600m.
CLONAKILTY - raced wide early stages.
