After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.

Race 1   DENARIO BREEDING MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared due to LASA backing away as the field were leaving the pre-race formation checking SUPER FUND. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
EVIDENTLY - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
JOHN STEWART - lay inwards throughout the run home. Driver R May was issued a warning for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
HARRY BELAFONTE - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced final bend.
A BETTER JACKALACK - broke in the score up however was in position at the start.
MY WINGMAN - broke at the start checking trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay outwards and paced roughly near the 450m.
BREENY'S CONQUEROR - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
SUPER FUND - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Checked shortly after the start and broke losing ground.
LASA - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Broke leaving the final bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.

Race 2   FORD CONTRACTING / McDONALD CONSTRUCTION TROT
The start was delayed due to several runners becoming fractious.
PONTIFF - fractious prior to the start. Held up early in the run home.
MORRIE AFTON - broke at the start checking trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide from the 800m. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer M Heenan.
IMPERIAL KNIGHT - swung sideways as the start was effected hampering trailing runners and broke losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Broke again checking a trailing runner near the 1750m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
STARSTRUCK - slow to begin. Switched to a pace before breaking after 100m losing ground. Broke again near the 1700m losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer O Thornley.
TRIBBIANI - switched to a pace after 200m before breaking and losing ground.
CASTLEISLAND - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
NATIVES CULLERDAMOON - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Broke after 150m losing ground. Held up early in the run home. Driver K Cameron had difficulty activating the removable deafeners in the run home.
SOMETHING ELSE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Trotted roughly on several occasions in the run home. Driver P Nairn admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Nairn's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 24 October 2025 (3 days).

WHATZ MY CHOICE - broke at the start losing ground. Shied near the 200m before pacing roughly hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver C Dalgety advised he would be recommending a shadow roll be added to the horse's gear prior to resuming.
KUSHITE WARRIOR - held up for clear racing room inside the final 150m.
FLYAWAY - began awkwardly. Hampered near the 200m. Held up for clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver J Dunn advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
WHO'S YOUR DRAGON - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
VERMEER LUSTRE - connections advised the gelding would be racing without front shoes. Broke at the start losing ground.
RAPID RESPONSE - over-raced middle stages. Held up early in the run home.
HES SANTAS EXCUSE - connections advised the gelding would be racing without front shoes.
GLITTERATI - held up throughout the run home.
TO RI RUBY - held up early in the run home.
ROCKCENT - hampered near the 200m. Held up for clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver R May advised he did not activate the sliding blinds in consequence. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 4   BSP FUELS PACE
FOLIEJON STAR - fractious prior to the start. Held up early in the run home.
MIKI BROWN - broke when racing over the crossing near the 1750m losing ground. Became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of SHE'S A LADY near the 450m after a slight easing of the pace.
CAPTAIN PUBLISHER - raced wide early. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised the gelding had worked hard in the early stages to obtain the parked position with the effort taking its toll.
ART'S MISCHIEF - weakened near the 450m.
THE HIGHWAYMAN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 5   ROB HARNEISS THELMA MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
IAMTHECAPTAINNOW - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
ARINITTI - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised that despite racing parked he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Connections advised they will have blood tests taken from the filly in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
PERAKI LAD - raced wide early. Weakened in the run home.
Connections advised Stewards on 23 October that ARINITTI has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Race 6   THE FAMOUS GROUSE (LINCOLN) TROT
VIVA LA VIDA - broke near the 450m losing all chance.
VAL THORENS - raced wide early.
MOONLIGHT ANGEL - held up final bend.
ORIGIN - driver P Davis admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Davis' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 22 October 2025 (2 days).
TRANSTASMAN BUBBLE - held up early in the run home. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 350m.
PASTERNAK - broke near the 350m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 7   CLUBS NZ RACE DAYS JAN & FEB 2026 PACE
LAMARLI - trainer V Sell was issued a warning for failing to have the correct colours available. Crowded by an outside runner after 200m.
FLYING BIRD - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Over-raced final bend. Held up early in the run home.
INTERPOL - broke at the start losing ground. Paced roughly final bend when weakening.
BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP - broke at the start hampering an outside runner losing ground. Held up early in the run home.
STYLE COUNCIL - driver K Cameron was warned for the manner he drove after 200m when crowding an inside runner. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
TREASURE COVE - over-raced passing the 950m when being restrained to obtain cover after being forced to race four wide resulting in the gelding breaking near the 900m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
JAKE - held up early in the run home.
HE'S TOUGH - over-raced middle stages. Raced wide from the 1000m. Weakened leaving the final bend.
MYSTIC MAGIC - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Raced wide with cover from the 1000m.
DAWN TO DARK - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 8   MOTUKARARA WORKOUTS TROT
The start was delayed due to SOLEMN SON charging the barrier strand. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
A false start was declared due to SHEZA TRENDY ONE becoming fractious and swinging sideways just prior to the start being effected. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SHEZA TRENDY ONE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1750m. Driver O Thornley advised she was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
DIEDRE FRANCO - broke near the 300m losing ground and again near the 250m losing all chance.
DIAMOND HARBOUR - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1750m.
SOLEMN SON - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened near the 500m.
CAPPAHA - broke near the 1750m hampering trailing runners losing ground. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
CALL DUDLEY - fractious prior to the start.
MUSCLYNN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1750m.
BONNIE BAGRIE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
Race 9   LINCOLN GOLDEN OLDIES MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when ALWAYS BEE GEE broke in the score up hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver S Thornley elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.
SWEET GUINESS - checked by ALWAYS BEE GEE shortly after the start losing ground. Stewards questioned drivers S Thornley (ALWAYS BEE GEE) and G Thornley (SWEET GUINESS) regarding this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing from both drivers it was established that ALWAYS BEE GEE had hung inwards and despite the efforts of Mr Thornley had shifted ground inwards resulting in contact being made to the front leg of SWEET GUINESS. After considering the matter a warning was placed on the racing record of ALWAYS BEE GEE. Hung inwards and paced roughly in the run home.
ALWAYS BEE GEE - hung outwards in the run home and shifted up the track despite the efforts of driver S Thornley. Mr Thornley advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to the gelding resuming.
SAMVASA - trainer B Hutton was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified anti choke device. Over-raced middle stages. Driver C DeFilippi was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
HEAVEN FORBID - raced wide early. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
WOODLEA ROCKS - held up for clear racing room for the majority of the run home.
JAZZYS UPSTART - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
JUSTA TERRA - weakened leaving the final bend.
BETTOR GO VINNIE - broke near the 1600m hampering a trailing runner losing ground.

Race 10   CAVALIER TROTTING PRODUCTS AKAROA CUP (HCP PACE)
The start was delayed due to INSARCHATWIST becoming fractious with the sulky shaft being caught over the hindquarters of the horse with runners being turned out of line.
A false start was declared due to INSARCHATWIST again being fractious with the mare being sent to the outside unruly position for the restart. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
The start was further delayed when TEDS LEGACY kicked out injuring driver J Curtin with the horse being declared a late scratching by Order of Stewards at 4.30pm. Mr Curtin was transferred to Christchurch Hospital for further assessment and is required to supply a medical clearance prior to resuming driving.
A second false start was declared due to the 10 metre barrier strand failing to release.
BUCKSKIN - broke at the start losing ground.
THE COALMAN - broke at the start losing ground. Raced wide early. Weakened from the 600m.
KISS THE GIRLS - broke at the start losing ground. Held up final bend and early in the run home. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
BLUE ROCK DANCER - raced wide early. Held up early in the run home.
SINAI SERMON - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened from the 400m.
GOTTA ELECT BILL - trainer M House was issued a warning for failing to have the correct colours available.
INSARCHATWIST - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Raced wide early.
TEMPO WARRIOR - held up for clear racing room in the run home.
Race 11   TOM BAMFORD RACING STABLES HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed two minutes at the request of the TAB.
The start was further delayed three minutes due to the delays in the previous race.
GRETTYMAC - held up over the concluding stages.
LOVE WALKED IN - raced wide early.

RENA - broke and shifted outwards shortly after the start checking trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Held up throughout the run home. Driver B Hope advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
KOWHAI NUGGET - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Driver S Ottley advised she was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
SHANNON B - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
WUHAN - lay outwards throughout the run home.
APATCHOFGOLD - weakened in the run home.
BEACHBREAK - broke near the 1700m losing ground. Broke again near the 1400m hampering a trailing runner and was restrained to the rear of the field. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver T Chmiel advised in his opinion the horse had failed to handle the grass track.
DON JUAN - raced wide early. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400m. Driver T Duley was issued a warning for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
HI HOPES - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
MAGICAL MAX - checked and broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
FRANCO HUMBIE - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Held up early in the run home.
