Race 1   AJ WATSON AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
HE'S TOUGH - paced roughly passing the 1300m after becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky wheel of LOVEYOURMOTHER which was racing in the two wide line on its outside. After questioning drivers M Maynard (HE'S TOUGH) and A Edge (LOVEYOURMOTHER) and viewing the films, it was established that the field ahead of these runners had shifted outwards simultaneously to the pace easing and that Mr Edge had maintained his line during this incident until shifting in marginally due to the pace easing. Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind Mr Edge of his obligations to ensure inside runners are not placed in restricted room in similar circumstances.
LOVEYOURMOTHER - slightly hampered by an easing of the pace near the 1300m. Stewards questioned driver A Edge regarding the tactics he adopted in the middle stages when electing to take up a position four back on the inside. Mr Edge advised in his opinion the gelding is best saved for one run and it was in the horse's best interest to save ground on the inside. Stewards noted Mr Edge's comments.
Race 2   WEST MELTON BP SUPPORTS CSBA & BREEDERS TROT
BOJACK HORSEMAN - driver S Thornley advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
BRIGHTMAN - broke after 150m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
SPEAKEASY - broke after 150m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1450m.
BACARDI DOLL - broke near the 900m losing all chance.
MUSCLE DASH - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed muscle soreness over the back. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
ALOTOFTROUBLE - connections advised the mare would be racing without front shoes. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
A QUIET GIRL - trotted roughly in the early stages.
MISTER - hampered by breaking runners after 150m.
WICKED ANNABELLA - raced wide early.
Trainer J Douglas advised Stewards on 28 October that MUSCLE DASH has had its hocks and back muscles treated since last racing.
Race 3   EQUINE PEMF THERAPY MOBILE PACE
STREET FIGHTER - weakened rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
ROCKIN ROMAN - weakened rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Cox advised he was disappointed and could offer no tangible explanation.
SHE'S A MAJOR ACT - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
FEAR GOGH - raced wide early.
WILLY AWAY - raced wide early.
TALLANDFAST - raced wide early.
CRYSTAL - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 4   CAPTAINTREACHEROUS - THE MORNING STAR FILLY MOBILE PACE
MY TEN GUITARS - held up middle stages of the run home.
BETTERWITHBLING - raced wide early.
Race 5   BREED-RACE-WIN-REPEAT MOBILE PACE
REGGIE GOLIGHTLY - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards when weakening rounding the final bend striking track markers. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
CARRERA TRANQUILO - over-raced middle stages.
DON JUAN - shifted inwards in the run home. Driver T Duley was issued a warning to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
Race 6   HAPPY B'DAY PETE DAVIS-THE WEEDS STILL FLOURISHING MOB TROT
NAVARA - held up early in the run home.
STEELINTHEHEEL - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SOLEMN SON - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 7   NEW ZEALAND HORSE AMBULANCE TRUST PACE
There was a delay to the start when the Starter was not satisfied with the manner in which the field addressed the barriers with all runners being turned out of line.
JAKE - lay inwards over the concluding stages crowding an inside runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
SANTANNA MACH - crowded by an outside runner late in the run home.
SWEET DREAMS - broke at the start losing ground.
ARCHIE - locked wheels with GLITTERATI which shifted outwards abruptly rounding the final bend losing all chance. Driver A Cameron reported she sustained a punctured sulky tyre in this incident.
GLITTERATI - lay inwards on several occasions throughout the running. Paced roughly when weakening rounding the final bend causing driver S Tomlinson some difficulty and shifted out abruptly and locked wheels with ARCHIE losing its chance. Miss Tomlinson advised the mare had been causing her steering difficulties throughout and she would be recommending gear changes. A warning was placed on the racing record of the horse.
PLAYING WITH STARS - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
