Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. TROT
BLUEY - returned to the stable area with blood present in the right nostril. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of trainer L McKay confirmed the gelding had suffered from exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage. Stood down for the mandatory 30 days with a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination required prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
ORIGIN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
GO HOME DENISE - broke near the 1100m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
PLAYOFFS - broke after 100m losing all chance.
Race 2   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND MOBILE PACE
QUINN - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages.
THE LAZARUS EFFECT - lay out rounding the final bend.
COMMANDER JOE - over-raced middle stages.
ANN SOPHIE - trainer M House was issued a warning for being late to notify a driver for the mare.
Connections advised Stewards on 30 September that J T BOE has had its hocks treated since last racing.
Trainer G O'Reilly advised Stewards on 3 October BETTOR BE SHARP has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Race 3   TYRE GENERAL HANDICAP TROT
HOLLY HIGHLANDER - tangled away.
TU TANGATA - held up final bend and early in the run home.
LOVE WALKED IN - pre-race warmed. Raced wide without cover from the 900m.
THE PRESENT MAKER - pre-race warmed. Slow early stages. Trotted roughly on occasions throughout. Placed in restricted room near the 350m when an outside runner shifted in and raced inside a track marker. When asked to comment on the performance driver W House was unable to provide any tangible explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed heat in the knee area. Connections advised they will have the gelding treated by their own Veterinarian in the coming days.
READY SET JET - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
A FINE PATRICK - broke near the 150m losing its chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
THE ROYAL GAMBLE - weakened final bend. Driver S Thornley was issued a warning for the manner he drove when shifting ground and crowding an inside runner rounding the final bend.
THE PRESENT MAKER - connections advised on 16 October the gelding has been treated for an infection since last racing.
Race 4   AOTEA ELECTRIC MOBILE PACE
IT'S TOUGH - driver J Dunn advised he did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
MAGICIAN - the required veterinary clearance was received. Pre-race warmed.
FRANCENT - raced greenly in the early stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised the race had not been run to suit after drawing wide and having to restrain shortly after the start and she was not overly disappointed.
AUDACITY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Connections advised Stewards on 30 September that AKATEA has had its hocks treated since last racing.
Race 5   "THE SUNDON" 2YO MOBILE TROT
KATELIN - over-raced early and middle stages. Trotted roughly from the 1200m. Broke near the 700m losing ground. Authorisation of the promoted 5th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation during the running.
REGAL SUMMIT - weakened final bend.
LANDMAN - broke near the 150m losing its chance. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the colt had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. The connections did not contest the protest and LANDMAN was disqualified by Stewards.
KYVALLEY RAY - lay out over the concluding stages.
Co-trainer G Hope advised Stewards on 1 October that blood tests taken from LANDMAN following this race revealed some irregularities and the colt has been sent for a spell.
Race 6   WAI EYRE FARM 'LAZARUS 3YO STAKES' (MOBILE PACE)
SPIRIT DOWNUNDER - over-raced middle stages.
BETTORS ANVIL - driver T Williams advised a sulky tyre deflated late in the run home which was confirmed to be after racing over a shoe on the track.
GOT THE CHOCOLATES - pre-race warmed.
RUBIRA - struck and raced inside one track marker rounding the final bend. Driver M Purdon was issued a warning.
Race 7   WOODLANDS MARES' SPRING SPRINT SERIES MOBILE PACE
DYNASTY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
SEASIDE ROSE - held up final bend.
MANTRA BLUE - raced wide early. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised the mare had to work too hard in the early stages to obtain the lead which had taken its toll over the concluding stages. Mr Dalgety added in his opinion the mare would derive benefit from the race.
DUCHESS MEGXIT - raced wide from the 700m. A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination revealed a trace amount of mucous in the trachea. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
TREACHEROUS BABY - when questioned regarding the performance co-trainer/driver M Purdon advised he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Mr Purdon further advised he will have blood tests taken from the mare. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Connections advised Stewards on 30 September that SEASIDE ROSE has had its fetlock and hock treated since last racing.
Connections advised Stewards on 1 October blood tests taken from TREACHEROUS BABY revealed a blood disorder which has been rectified.
Trainer G O'Reilly advised Stewards on 3 October ESMERALDA has had its joints treated since last racing.
Race 8   GREG & LEIGH AYERS LOOKING FORWARD TO CUP WEEK HCP TROT
CORMORAN STRIKE - lay inwards rounding the final bend.
KAWHI - tangled away.
ROYDON MUSCLE - weakened final bend.
HELLOVEAMOMENT - raced wide early until reaching the parked position near the 1700m. Weakened from the 700m.
GOLD BULLION - raced wide final bend.
TYRON EROS - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Over-raced middle stages.
MAUI - raced wide early.
MIGHTY LOGAN - trotted roughly in the run home.
Trainer C McDowell advised Stewards on 5 October ROYDON MUSCLE has had its joints treated since last racing.
Race 9   COMMODORE HOTEL HANDICAP PACE
WE WALK BY FAITH - broke at the start losing ground. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
WAG STAR - tangled away.
MO'UNGA - held up final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close advised the race had not been run to suit and he was not overly disappointed given the closing sectionals.
REPUBLICAN PARTY - pre-race warmed.
Race 10   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
CANDY CANE - paced roughly and hung outwards for a distance after the start and broke after 150m hampering and checking outside runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
QUICKER THAN QUICK - hampered by a breaking runner after 150m.
DAWN TO DARK - checked and broke after 150m losing ground. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
GONE SURFIN - driver J Dunn advised he did not activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
TACT TEVA - lay inwards in the run home despite the efforts of driver T Williams.
BRANDI SNAPP - hampered by a breaking runner after 150m. Weakened from the 600m.
