A post-race veterinary examination at the request of trainer L McKay confirmed the gelding had suffered from exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage. Stood down for the mandatory 30 days with a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination required prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming. | |

Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the colt had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Mr Purdon further advised he will have blood tests taken from the mare.
