Race 1   BOOK AT THE ALEX FOR MELBOURNE CUP DAY HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed due to MARO MACKENDON becoming fractious with the field being turned away to readdress the barrier. There was a further delay when MARO MACKENDON required the assistance from a Starting Attendant. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
CYCLONE SALA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.
NIAMH - fractious prior to the start.
MARO MACKENDON - over-raced when being restrained to take cover passing the 1000m.
JASINOVA - weakened in the run home.
SANTAPAZIENZA - broke at the start losing ground.
Race 2   CLASSIQUE LANDSCAPERS TROT
The start was delayed due to IM A ROCKSTAR refusing to come into line requiring the assistance of the Starting Attendant at the first attempt. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
There was a further delay when PATRICIA RUBY reared on several occasions and PROHIBITION reared and fell to the track with the filly being declared a late scratching at 5.46pm on veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance and to complete one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
STASH THE CASH - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced at Cambridge the previous evening and was cleared to start.
PATRICIA RUBY - broke at the start losing all chance.
MUM'S ANGEL - broke after 180m losing all chance.
FLOSSY POPS - broke at the start losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the filly.
HOME GROWN GIRL - pre-race warmed.
Race 3   GROVE MITRE 10 MOBILE PACE
KEVIN KLINE - lay inwards striking track markers rounding the first bend. Over-raced middle stages. Briefly held up middle stages of the run home.
YOU LITTLE BEAUTY - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Butcher advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation.
Race 4   JOIN TAB RACING CLUB NORTHERN METRO PACERS FINAL MOB PACE
MICK KONSTANTIN - lay inwards striking track markers near the 800m. Struck track markers final bend. Driver J Abernethy was issued a warning. Shifted out near the 180m briefly placing an outside runner in restricted room. Raced greenly throughout the run home. Stewards spoke with Mr Abernethy regarding his apparent lack of control throughout the run home. Mr Abernethy advised the gelding was still inexperienced, had raced greenly on several occasions in the running, and particularly in the run home, and he will be considering gear changes. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Notwithstanding this Stewards reminded Mr Abernethy of his obligations to exercise greater control of his horse in the future.
TURN O THE TIDE - raced wide middle stages. Placed in restricted room near the 180m.
TYSON - held up throughout the run home.
Race 5   JOIN TAB RACING CLUB NORTHERN METRO TROTTERS FINAL MOB TROT
MEMORIES - weakened final bend.
CRAZY - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abrasions to the off hind elbow which was consistent with the gelding striking itself.
THE MOONSTONE - pre-race warmed. Broke while in the lead passing the 1250m losing considerable ground. Broke again passing the 900m and cast a bell boot losing all chance. Driver N Chilcott reported that her runner cast the off fore shoe during the running.
PANTANI - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
LOTERIA - back from its unruly position as the start.
Race 6   GRAND PARK MOBILE PACE
GOTTA GO MIKI - weakened during the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver L Hollis reported the mare was not suited to racing in the parked position.. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
THE NIGHT AGENT - briefly shifted outwards over the concluding stages placing an inside runner in restricted room.
SEASIDE BOSS - briefly shifted inwards over the concluding stages placing an inside runner in restricted room.
COURTNEY ROSE - paced roughly passing the 1400m.
CAPTAINS SECRET - held up early stages of the run home. Placed in restricted room when horses either side shifted ground over the concluding stages.
Race 7   HR FISKEN & SONS HANDICAP TROT
COURMAYEUR - fractious prior to the start.
AMERICAN MUSCLE - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Lay inwards striking track markers final bend.
FAITH IN MANCHESTER - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
LORD POPINJAY - fractious prior to the start. Contacted a track marker rounding the final bend. Driver M White was issued a warning.
Race 8   NEVELE R 3YO FILLIES HEAT 5 MOBILE PACE
BLAZING KNUCKLES - raced wide early.
IM SANDRA DEE - paced roughly rounding the final bend. Held up middle stages of the run home.
DEBBIE LINCOLN - held up middle stages of the run home.
PRINCESS LISA - held up early stages of the run home.
Race 9   HAVE YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY AT ALEX PARK MOBILE PACE
SWEET DIOR - lay inwards striking track markers near the 1250m. Lay inwards on several occasions throughout the running.
MIKI HOLLA - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the final stages.
JUST US TWO - when questioned regarding the performance driver A Poutama advised he was not disappointed with the performance of the colt given it was its first race day start for 7 months and was also racing against older and more experienced horses.
