B K MUMMA JAMIE - driver P Wakelin admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Wakelin's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 1 October 2025 (2 days).
Race 3   PHOEBE STUD - STANDING 4 NZ BRED HEROES MOBILE PACE
B MY LOVER - paced roughly shortly after the start. Lay inwards and struck track markers when weakening passing the 600m hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Borcoskie advised the filly had raced lethargically. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

TALLANDFAST - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
WOODLEA ROCKS - raced wide early.

CELEBRITY EDGE - when questioned regarding the performance trainer A Edge advised the filly had been unsuited to racing in the parked position.
YALDHURST FOLLY - broke at the start losing ground. Held up middle stages of the run home.

ELTON J - over-raced middle stages. Broke passing the 200m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver S Thornley reported the gelding may have choked down.

HE'S TOUGH - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages. Raced wide without cover from the 800m.

A DANCING ROCKA - co-trainers G & B Hope were issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified sliding blinds. Paced roughly at the start. Weakened leaving the final bend.

There was a delay to the start due to HANOI FRANCO becoming fractious. The start was further delayed when GOODOLDAYZ became fractious. A warning was placed on the barrier record of both horses.
FRANCO CHAPLIN - broke at the start and shifted outwards checking an outside runner losing considerable ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
HEAVEN - broke briefly at the start before being checked by an inside runner losing ground. Held up early in the run home.

HANOI FRANCO - compounded early in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was also placed on the racing performance of the mare.

ARCHIE - driver M Williamson advised he was unable to activate the removably deafeners due to the cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
GOODOLDAYZ - raced wide without cover from the 700m. Driver N Williamson advised he was unable to activate the removably deafeners due to the cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
Race 8   LEIGH & GREG AYERS PROUDLY SUPPORT BPTC MOBILE PACE
ARI ON SAFARI - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Thornley advised the gelding had been making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high respiratory rate and slow recovery. Trainer G O'Reilly advised he will have the horse examined by his veterinarian in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
JUST ASK PADDY - connections advised the gelding would be racing without front shoes. Raced wide early. Hung inwards throughout the run home.
COMMANDER JOE - raced wide early.
FAREWELL SPIT - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
HEAVEN'S MARK - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver C Dalgety. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Mr Dalgety advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MIKI'S COURAGE - out of position at the start. Driver R Harrison was issued a warning.
MAJOR HIPSTER - weakened early in the run home.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver A Cameron. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
TAKETHEPLUNGE - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.

HALEY ROBYN - held up early in the run home.
CHAL VEE POWER - raced wide early. Held up middle stages of the run home.

FLYAWAY - hung inwards after 150m and struck the sulky wheel of THE MANDALORIAN despite the efforts of driver R Close. Lay inwards throughout the run home.

Race 10   ELITE STRIDE DG JONES MEMORIAL BANKS PENINSULA CUP HCP TROT
A false start was declared due to CONFESSIONAL being slow to turn into line. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
RUSH - broke near the 500m and continued on in a break for a considerable distance losing all chance. Driver C Dalgety reported the mare had cast the left front shoe.
NELLIE DOYLE - broke passing the 1650m losing ground. Weakened from the 700m before breaking near the 650m hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
KAWHI - broke at the start and continued on in a break for a considerable distance hampering trailing runners with the gelding losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened from the 600m hampering a trailing runner.
CONFESSIONAL - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised the gelding had worked hard in the middle stages to improve to the parked position however he was still slightly disappointed with the effort.

OSCAR BONAVENA - hampered near the 800m after a slight easing of the pace. Driver M Purdon was issued a warning for crossing his reins in the run home to perform a celebratory gesture.

ALDEBARAN REDWOOD - lay outwards late in the run home.
YOSEMITE - held up until late in the run home before being hampered by a breaking runner just prior to the finish.

NIGHT LIFE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 250m.
ORIGIN - raced greenly for a distance passing the 1800m when attempting to improve to the lead. Hung outwards throughout the run home when utilising the passing lane.
CAPPAHA - trotted roughly in the run home. Hampered by a breaking runner just prior to the finish.
CHESTER GOLD - raced wide early. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
GO HOME DENISE - broke near the 250m hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.

VIVA LA VIDA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 250m.
PLAYOFFS - held up early in the run home. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 250m. Broke late in the run home hampering trailing runners and continued on in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(5) alleging the gelding was lapped on at the finish by PASTERNAK, CHESTER GOLD and SCHOEMAKER. After viewing the replays driver G O'Reilly did not contest the protest and PLAYOFFS was relegated to 6th placing by Stewards.
SCHOEMAKER - raced wide from the 1300m.
Race 12   WELCOME NICKY LLOYD RACEDAY SECRETARY MOBILE PACE
SAMVASA - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Driver J Curtin was issued a warning for striking the sulky wheel of TOSANA near the 300m.
SWEET GUINESS - paced roughly racing over the crossing near the 1750m. Hung outwards early in the run home when attempting to utilise the passing lane causing driver G Thornley difficulty before shifting outwards to obtain clear racing room.
LASA - raced wide early.
TOSANA - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer D Keast advised he will have blood tests taken from the filly in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
ENYA FRANCO - over-raced middle stages.
SOPHIA BROMAC - raced wide from the 1000m.
