Race 1   WDC COMING TO WINTON IN NOVEMBER TROT
BORN TO ROCK - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Again broke near the 750m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MY BONNIE LASS - pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly over the early stages losing ground.
KIMBO -broke briefly at the start. Broke again racing into the first bend losing ground. Broke again near the 750m losing further ground. Broke on a further occasion near the 350m losing all chance. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
GARONNE - raced wide early.
MAJESTIC CHALLEN - broke when leading near the 1000m losing all chance.
Race 2   WOODLANDS STUD FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
ASIAN JOKER - hung outwards rounding the final bend.
BALTIC STAR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver R Gutsell. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
MIND PHILLY - raced wide from the 600m.
CRACKASKY - held up final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver K Tomlinson could offer no tangible explanation.
Race 3   FULLY CATERED HOSPITALITY WDC 25 MOBILE PACE
SOUTH BEACH - weakened from the 800m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG before completing one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
BIG VINNIE - hampered by a weakening runner near the 800m.
ACE OF SPADES - paced roughly over the concluding stages.
BETTER KAST - broke after contacting the sulky wheel of ROCKY PACIFIC when being restrained and hanging outwards racing into the first bend losing ground. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 800m. Stewards questioned driver M Hill regarding the incident on the first bend, who advised the mare had got its tongue over the bit and proved difficult to restrain. After viewing the films and hearing from Mr Hill a warning was placed on the racing record of BETTER KAST. Mr Hill advised he would be recommending gear changes.
Race 4   MACCA LODGE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
DRAGONESS - broke in the early stages of the score up however was in position at the start. Over-raced and hung outwards in the early and middle stages. Weakened rounding the final bend.
SUGAR BABE - when questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised he was disappointed and could offer no explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days regarding the recovery of the filly.
Following the running of this race the track conditions were downgraded to Easy.
Race 5   DIAMOND CREEK FARM/S.B.S.R. MOBILE PACE
TASHS BAD GIRL - raced wide without cover from the 900m.
SARGENT BEST - driver M Williamson admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Williamson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 21 September up to and including 1 October 2025, 3 days.
VAN LIBERTY - held up early stages of the run home.
ABULL - raced wide early.
BOMBAY GLACIER - raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 1000m. Locked stays with outside runner near 250m.
MONTAGE - held up throughout the run home.
KENSI - lay inwards when driver K Tomlinson activated gear near the 250m locking sulky stays with BOMBAY GLACIER momentarily. Miss Tomlinson was spoken to for the manner she drove when activating gear.
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - over-raced early stages. Held up throughout the run home. Driver K Green reported she did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
SEARING LIGHT - held up late in the run home.
Race 6   ALABAR NZ MOBILE PACE
SKY ROCKET - over-raced when being restrained early.
SONG SUNG BLUE - raced wide from the 600m.
STILL ROCKIN - raced wide from the 1000m.
Following the running of this race the track conditions were downgraded to Slushy.
Race 7   SUBWAY WINTON HANDICAP TROT
POPNROCK - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - attempted to pace near the 1800m and was eased hampering trailing runners. Driver H Douglas was warned for the manner in which he drove at this stage when easing the pace.
ERROL D - driver S Walkinshaw was warned for the manner he drove rounding the final bend when loose reining.
ANDY HALL - hampered near the 1800m.
LIL WHIP - hampered near the 1800m.
MADRIK - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Tangled away. Broke entering the first bend losing ground. Weakened final bend.
JULIE JACCKA - when questioned regarding the performance, driver B Barclay could offer no tangible explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 8   FORKLIFTS NZ MOBILE PACE
MAGIC SIGN - raced greenly near the 1300m having to be steadied. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 1000m.
MR PRESIDENT - hampered by a weakening runner near the 1000m.
SEASIDE POND - weakened from the 1000m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer/driver J Cox advised the gelding had not handled the prevailing track conditions.
THE WULVER - raced wide from the 600m.
FOREVER ARDEN - hampered by a weakening runner near the 1000m.
BELUGA - hampered by a weakening runner near the 1000m.
TUNEINSPORTSFANS - held up rounding the final bend.
Race 9   BOOK A MARQUEE FOR WDC 25 MOBILE PACE
DOUBLE QUICK - pre-race warmed. Reared and fell going out on to the track being declared a late scratching at 4.18pm on veterinary advice. Connections were advised the mare was stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
BOWLEM OVER - held up middle stages of the run home.
DURRANT - raced wide early.
GOORAMBAT ART - over-raced and was awkwardly placed close to the sulky of FOXFIRE EASTON having to be steadied near the 1250m. Held up until late in the run home.
ALWAYS BE BATMAN - raced lethargically for a distance passing the 1500m losing ground despite the efforts of driver M Williamson.
