Race 1   WOODLANDS STUD SUPPORTING SOUTHERN BREEDERS TROT
SON OF THE CLEANER - broke at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly through the middle stages. Broke again passing the 450m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
CAPPAHA - broke passing the 450m losing all chance.
MIDNIGHT DIAMOND - driver M Purdon was spoken to for the manner he drove for a short distance passing the 1500m when half carting.
YOSEMITE - held up early stages of the run home.
MAJIC N THE PORT - raced wide early.
MIKKO KOIVU - raced wide on the track near the 1500m. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule when MIKKO KOIVU raced wide on the track. After speaking with drivers B Williamson and G Goodman (BILL BOOTIT), assisted by M Williamson, and viewing the replays Stewards were satisfied that BILL BOOTIT had never shifted to a position on the marker line and took the matter no further.
SWITCH ON - trotted roughly over the concluding stages. Driver S Ottley reported she was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
Race 2   PERFECT STING 2YOS ON FIRE IN USA AT MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
ICY STARS - over-raced through the middle stages.
ROCKIN ROMAN - lay inwards throughout the run home having to be corrected by driver B Orange.
SPIRIT OF ATLANTA - broke briefly rounding the final bend losing ground and as a result the near side number came adrift.
Race 3   ON A STREAK STANDING AT WAI EYRE FARMS TROT
MAJESTIC MONKEY - broke briefly at the start. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
MORRIE AFTON - hampered by a breaking runner near the 850m.
BOJACK HORSEMAN - fractious and reared on a number of occasions prior to the start and broke briefly as the tapes were released losing ground. Again broke briefly near the 700m losing ground.
MUSCLE DASH - the required veterinary clearance was received. Trotted roughly in the middle stages and again over the concluding stages.
JUST CHARLIE - trotted roughly and weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
WHAT'S THE WHISPER - trotted roughly in the early stages. Lay out for a distance passing the 1900m. Lay in near the 900m having to be steadied.
PHANTOM SPUR - broke passing the 850m hampering trailing runners losing ground. Broke again near the 500m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
HELP ME - hampered by a breaking runner near the 850m. Lay in and trotted roughly throughout the run home.
TERRY WEBSTER - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer B Negus.
GASHERBRUM - lay out throughout the run home.
PRESTIGIOUS - trotted roughly over the early stages losing ground.
Race 4   DAVID HEFFERNAN PGG WRIGHTSON REAL ESTATE MOBILE PACE
KELTIC TIGER - driver S Thornley reported he had difficulty steering the gelding during the running.
PLAYING WITH STARS - hampered near the 300m.
DR GACHET - placed in restricted room when an outside runner shifted inwards just prior to the start and broke in consequence losing all chance. Authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards had spoken with driver C Dalgety regarding this and after hearing from Mr Dalgety and viewing the replays Stewards, acting under Rule 213(1)(j), declared DR GACHET a late scratching due to being denied a fair start.
BEACHBREAK - paced roughly and shifted inwards just prior to the start placing an inside runner in restricted room, which broke in consequence. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Again paced roughly shortly after the start for a distance. Driver T Williams reported he would be recommending gear changes.
WAVEWATCHER - forced to race wide from the 500m. Lay inwards when driver O Thornley activated gear near the 300m, becoming awkwardly placed close to an inside runner which was hampered briefly. Miss Thornley was spoken to for the manner she drove when activating gear.
JESSE OWENS - held up final bend.
ENYA FRANCO - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend.
Race 5   DIAMOND CREEK / SBSR JUVENILE STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
SEASIDE BRUCIE - over-raced through the middle stages.
Race 6   NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES (HEAT 4) MOBILE PACE
VINCENT REACTRESS - hung inwards and struck track markers rounding the final bend.
ARAFURA - raced wide early.
CAUGHT THE EYE - lay in under pressure throughout the run home.
CANDY CANE - paced roughly passing the 1500m. Again paced roughly near the 450m.
Race 7   JASMYN'S GIFT FILLIES & MARES STAKES HANDICAP TROT
NUBLIAH CHAMAY - began awkwardly. Hampered near the 300m striking track markers.
ROYAL GYPSY - came together with PRACTICAL MAGIC at the start. When questioned regarding the performance, driver S Thornley could offer no tangible explanation other than noting that the mare was racing up in grade.
PRACTICAL MAGIC - came together with ROYAL GYPSY at the start. Hampered and lay outwards near the 300m locking wheels with the weakening MIXED FAITH hampering trailing runners.
MIXED FAITH - weakened rounding the final bend and lay outwards becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of HIDDEN TALENT which was hanging inwards. Locked wheels with PRACTICAL MAGIC near the 300m hampering trailing runners. Lay out near the 200m placing an outside runner in restricted room.
PAIGE - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
I DREAM OF JEANNIE - driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
JULIE JACCKA - broke at the start losing all chance.
NELLIE DOYLE - broke rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
RUSH - hampered near the 300m striking track markers.
WALKINONSUNSHINE - raced wide early. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
EMPIRE CITY - hung inwards rounding the final bend. Placed in restricted room near the 200m. When questioned regarding the performance driver R May advised that after starting from the 20m handicap the mare had hung inwards on occasions in a race that wasn't run to suit.
EUROSTYLE - connections reported the mare would be racing in season. Improved wide from the 600m and broke near the 300m losing all chance. Driver K Butt reported the mare had trotted roughly on occasions prior to breaking. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
HIDDEN TALENT - hung inwards rounding the final bend becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of MIXED FAITH which was laying outwards.
Connections advised Stewards on 16 September that blood tests taken from EUROSTYLE following its last start revealed no abnormalities and the mare has been treated for muscle soreness.
Race 8   PLACEMAKERS HANNON MEMORIAL (STAND PACE)
BOUDICA - lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1500m.
RENEGADE - lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1500m.
WAG STAR - broke briefly at the start.
WHO'S DELIGHT - lay inwards in the run home.
Race 9   SIX PACK'S SON WINS USA HAMBLETONIAN AT MACCA LODGE HCP TROT
A false start was declared at the first attempt when MILES AWAY backed away checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver S Thornley elected to remain in his allocated position for the restart.
MILES AWAY - slow early.
CODY BANNER - trotted roughly over the concluding stages and was unable to be fully driven out by driver M Williamson.
OUR PINOCCHIO - raced wide early. Weakened from the 500m.
THE ROYAL GAMBLE - trotted roughly for a distance passing the 2200m losing ground. Again trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
Race 10   BOOK NOW FOR OAMARU'S CHRISTMAS AT THE RACES MOBILE PACE
TROUBLESHOOTER - held up early in the run home.
DOUBLE QUICK - pre-race warmed.
LOVEYOURMOTHER - raced wide without cover from the 750m.
LILY'S A STAR - held up throughout the run home.
C C ARDEN - raced wide early.
HI HOPES - over-raced in the early stages. Held up early in the run home.
MATAI HARRY - raced wide early.
MAJOR TORQUE - over-raced through the middle stages.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - raced wide early. Over-raced through the middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
