| HAPPY HILL - when questioned with regard to his minimal vigour and failure to activate the removable deafeners in the home straight Co-Trainer/Driver B Hackett stated that the gelding was a twenty start maiden which had proved difficult in its previous racing when breaking for no apparent reason. He further explained that this runner had felt uneven in its gait when the tempo increased down the back straight the final time and had then been on the inside rein when laying out when attempting to use the passing lane in the run home placing him at a disadvantage. Mr Hackett also added that he had reined the horse up over the final stages and that the gelding would race in a fixed deafener hood for the immediate future. Stewards noted his comments. | |
