Race 1   ILT SUPPORTING THE NZ HORSE AMBULANCE TRUST TROT
DELLA'S FELLA - trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
OUR ROSE HILL - lay inwards and contacted a track marker near the 1300m. Lay out throughout the run home having to be straightened by driver B Williamson.
MY BONNIE LASS - slow to begin then briefly switched to a pace shortly after the start losing further ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
THE LAST MCGUIRE - slow away and trotted roughly in the early stages.
GARONNE - slow in the early stages.
MAJESTIC CHALLEN - Stewards questioned driver E. Barron regarding her apparent lack of vigour and reluctance to use the whip over the concluding stages. Miss Barron explained that the mare had attempted to buck during the preliminary when she crossed her reins, and she was therefore hesitant to risk a similar reaction in the run home which could have caused the mare to break. After considering her explanation, Stewards were satisfied that her actions had not adversely affected the horse's chances of finishing in a higher placing. Notwithstanding this Miss Barron was reminded of her obligation to drive her runners out to the finish whenever circumstances permit.
Race 2   DIAMOND CREEK / SBSR FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
AMBER SKY - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Again paced roughly shortly after the start losing ground. Broke entering the first bend losing further ground. Over-raced middle stages. Hung outwards and proved difficult to steer near the 850m then broke again losing further ground. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the filly.
ENCHANTED LONNIE - trainer C Faithful was issued with a warning for failing to have the correct colours available. Lay inwards and paced roughly when weakening rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
MIND PHILLY - out of position at the start. Driver K Green was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice. Held up final bend by a weakening runner.
CRACKASKY - out of position at the start. Driver K Tomlinson was issued with a warning.
LYDAH VALLEY - out of position at the start. Driver B Orange was issued with a warning.
Race 3   ILT FOUNDATION SUPPORTING N.Z.H.A.T. MOBILE PACE
TUNEINSPORTSFANS - held up final bend and the early stages of the run home.
THE WULVER - held up for clear racing room throughout the final straight.
RAMBLIN ROVER - held up final bend.
Race 4   CRUICKSHANK PRYDE SUPPORTING N.Z.H.A.T. MOBILE PACE
BIG VINNIE - over-raced middle stages. Lay out rounding the bends. Held up briefly by a tiring runner leaving the final bend and again lay out placing ACE OF SPADES in restricted room.
ADMIRAL STEVE - weakened from the 400m briefly hampering a trailing runner. When asked to comment regarding the performance driver E Barron advised she was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
ACE OF SPADES - hampered having to be steadied leaving the final bend when placed in restricted room between DONALD TROT which lay inwards and BIG VINNIE which lay outwards.
DONALD TROT - lay inwards leaving the final bend hampering ACE OF SPADES.
Race 5   STAGS VS COUNTIES-MANUKAU THIS SUNDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER TROT
There was a delay to the start when Starter B Ward was not satisfied with the manner runners had addressed the barrier strand resulting in the field being turned away.
MUSCLE MIST - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Switched to a pace near the 950m having to be broken up by driver M Hill losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
KYLE LOCH - Stewards spoke with driver N. Kyle regarding the manner she drove during the initial stages of the run home, in particular her apparent lack of vigour. Miss Kyle explained that her horse was travelling well at the time, and she did not consider it necessary to urge her runner further at that stage of the race. Miss Kyle added that she applied more urgency to KYLE LOCH once she became aware of PENELOPE LANE approaching to her outside, but did not believe that urging her horse earlier in the run home would have altered its finishing position. The Stewards accepted Miss Kyle's explanation and noted it accordingly.
POPNROCK - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
ANNROSE - broke approaching the 400m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance.
PENELOPE LANE - broke passing the 750m losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards had viewed the footage and were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. Driver B Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners or utilise the whip due to the mare trotting roughly.
Race 6   STAGS VS TASMAN FRIDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER MOBILE PACE
CALIFORNIA DREAMING - broke in the score up and failed to settle losing all chance. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
ITSALLABOUTTHEMONEY - over-raced through the middle stages.
TASHS BAD GIRL - raced wide early until reaching the parked position passing the 1700m. Held up by a tiring runner rounding the final bend.
SUPERFAST - raced wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field near the 1700m.
SARGENT BEST - raced wide early and middle stages. Commenced to weaken from the 700m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
SEARING LIGHT - raced wide early stages.
MONTAGE - raced three wide throughout.
ABULL - held up throughout the run home. Driver R McIlwrick reported he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
Race 7   LEADER BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
FOXING EASTON - held up by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
BOBBIES ROCK - raced wide early. Weakened from the 700m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
Race 8   CRAIG HEYRICK AT HARCOURTS INVERCARGILL MOBILE PACE
HAZER - broke approaching the first bend checking an outside runner, after its near-side front shoe, which had sprung loose, became caught in the near-side hopple elastics preventing the horse from placing its foot down naturally, causing it to stumble and break its gait. As a result, no action was taken against the gelding's racing manners.
SKY PATROL - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend and forced wider on the track losing considerable ground in consequence.
STILLYOURSHOT - held up through the early and middle stages of the run home only obtaining clear racing room passing the 200m.
RIGHTAZZ - over-raced through the middle stages.
