STORMBREAKER - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
EL GALLO - broke rounding the first bend losing all chance.

HELP ME - slow to begin. Held up early in the run home.
SOMETHING ELSE - connections advised the mare would be racing without front shoes. Broke at the start losing all chance.

MISTER - trainer C Butt was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race with blinds which had not been notified.
Race 2   MT HUTT MOTELS MOBILE PACE
WILLY AWAY - lay outwards at various stages during the running. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
IDEAL CONQUEROR - raced greenly when leading passing the 1300m and shifted up the track hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend before shifting ground outwards and locking wheels with WEST VIRGINIA. Weakened early in the run home. Driver J Cox was issued a warning for allowing his runner to contact the sulky wheel of MIGHTY MIKI near the 500m when shifting ground.
ULTIMATE PERFECTION - hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Held up for a distance passing the 400m. Again held up early in the run home.
SHE'S A MAJOR ACT - hampered near the 1300m. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Hill advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
INTERRORGATOR - hampered near the 1300m.
MIGHTY MIKI - hampered near the 1300m.
WEST VIRGINIA - locked wheels with IDEAL CONQUEROR rounding the final bend and broke losing ground. Stewards questioned drivers J Cox (IDEAL CONQUEROR) and R Houghton (WEST VIRGINIA) regarding this incident where it was established that Mr Cox had shifted his runner wider when having an advantage over WEST VIRGINIA however after losing momentum due to being held up by runners in advance of him, WEST VIRGINIA had improved quickly to his outside and also lay in resulting in both runners locking wheels. After viewing the replays and hearing their explanations, Stewards were satisfied that blame could not be attributed to any one horse or driver and no further action was deemed necessary.
VERDUCCI - hampered by a weakening runner final bend and made contact with the sulky wheel of WILLY AWAY despite the efforts of driver J Young-Grant resulting in the gelding breaking and losing ground. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
Race 3   ASHBURTON MSA RACING SECTION MOBILE PACE
DO YOU WANNA DANCE - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Over-raced middle stages. Driver G Smith reported the filly had raced greenly throughout. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the horse had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
B MY LOVER - struck the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Driver T Borcoskie was issued a warning.
BY JINGO JENNIFER - paced roughly after 100m when crowded by an outside runner with a trailing runner also being hampered. Again paced roughly rounding the final bend. Held up early in the run home.
ICY STARS - hampered after 100m.
MAGGIE Q - driver B Orange was issued a warning for shifting ground and crowding an inside runner in the early stages.
Race 4   BUS & TRUCK BODYWORKS MOBILE PACE
ACENTO - driver R Holmes was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
HANOI FRANCO - held up early in the run home.
VINCENT VEGA - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver M Cations was issued a warning for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
Connections advised Stewards on 9 September that OPO has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Race 5   SOUTH ISLAND SEEDS TROT
MOA MOJITO - fractious prior to the start and was back from position as the barrier was released with a trailing runner being hampered. Broke after 100m hampering KAHNTDOITALONE losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened from the 600m.
SON OF THE CLEANER - broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Broke again near the 1300m and the 600m losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
DIEDRE FRANCO - held up early in the run home.
MODE - broke at the start losing ground.
GO HOME DENISE - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m. Over-raced middle stages.
ALDEBARAN REDWOOD - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
BLUEY - broke after 100m hampering inside runners losing ground. Trotted roughly in the run home when held up for clear racing room. The off side number detached during the running.
KAHNTDOITALONE - hampered prior to the start. Broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Broke again near the 1800m losing all chance. Authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards had spoken to driver S Tomlinson who advised she had not been denied a fair start.
DIAMOND HARBOUR - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
FIVE MONKEYS - lay in and contacted the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
VIVA LA VIDA - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver R May advised the gelding had worked hard in the middle stages to improve to a forward position with the effort taking its toll.
SWITCH ON - raced wide from the 1100m. Trotted roughly in the run home.
Race 6   BETAVET (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
ROCK FERN - over-raced and broke racing into the first bend checking trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Trainer R Houghton advised he will make gear changes and return the horse to the trials prior to resuming.
STAR ON THE ROCKS - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Paced roughly near the 350m.
DON JUAN - held up early in the run home.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
ANN SOPHIE - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Held up early in the run home.
MOUTON CADET - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
ALMIGHTY CLEVER - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend with driver A Fitzgerald becoming unbalanced in the sulky.
FRANCO HUMBIE - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
MATAI HARRY - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Raced wide early.
MAJOR TORQUE - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver G Thornley advised after being checked early she was obliged to improve wide from the rear of the field from the 600m with the effort taking its toll.
Following this race the track was upgraded to Good.
Race 7   PETER LAGAN STANDARDBREDS PACE
SWIFT GUY - over-raced middle stages.
TIMES LIKE THESE - slow to begin. Over-raced middle stages. Held up throughout the run home.
LOGAN ROCK - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
GLITTERATI - driver S Tomlinson reported the mare had paced roughly on several occasions during the running.
FERGALICIOUS - checked and broke at the start losing ground.
FRANCO CHAPLIN - broke and shifted inwards abruptly at the start checking an inside runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
VERMEER LUSTRE - held up early in the run home.
Race 8   RAINER IRRIGATION MOBILE PACE
PATIRO - hampered when DONTTELLTHEBOYS shifted inwards near the 150m and raced inside a track marker.
MOTOR MOUTH - shifted outwards in the run home. Driver A Cameron was issued a warning to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
DONTTELLTHEBOYS - shifted inwards near the 150m when driver C DeFilippi was activating gear hampering PATIRO which was forced over a track marker. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until junior driver S Hill, assisted by R May, (PATIRO) placed 2nd, had viewed the replays and confirmed his chances of finishing ahead of DONTTELLTHEBOYS had not been affected and he did not wish to proceed with a protest. Driver C DeFilippi admitted a breach of Rule 869(4) and the Home Straight Regulations in that he failed to maintain a straight course in the run home when allowing his runner to shift inwards hampering PATIRO. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr DeFilippi's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 14 September up to and including 21 September 2025 (2 days).
FLYAWAY - hung inwards when improving wide passing the 1300m before being retired from the race near the 1100m. Driver S Thornley reported he was having considerable difficulty steering the mare after the bit had pulled through the horse's mouth.
RADIOACTIVE JAFFA - held up early in the run home.
Race 9   THE DUBLINER PACE
TROUBLESHOOTER - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
GLIDING HIGH - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP - fractious prior to the start.
CARBON - shifted ground inwards marginally in the run home. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until driver K Cameron (STYLE COUNCIL) placed 4th, had viewed the replays of the run home to ascertain whether there were grounds to lodge a protest. After viewing the replays Mr Cameron elected not to proceed with a protest after it was established that FAREWELL SPIT placed 1st and CARBON placed 2nd, had both shifted ground marginally.
A DANCING ROCKA - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SOFIA ROSE - broke at the start losing ground.
SUPER FUND - broke at the start losing ground.
FAREWELL SPIT - held up early in the run home. Shifted ground outwards marginally late in the run home.
STYLE COUNCIL - fractious prior to the start. Briefly crowded near the 100m after runners either side shifted ground marginally.
GEORGIE ZUKOV - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. The clip on the breastplate broke during the running.
Race 10   MIDLANDS SEEDS TROT
RUTHLESS EMMA - shifted outwards rounding the first bend forcing DESBOIS to race wider on the track. Driver A Mugford admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
ROYAL YANKEE - weakened early in the run home.
SPEEDING SPIRIT - held up early in the run home.
PASTERNAK - trotted roughly in the run home.
DESBOIS - forced to race wider on the track when RUTHLESS EMMA shifted outwards rounding the first bend.
MILES AWAY - raced wide early and middle stages. Shifted outwards in the run home. Driver S Thornley was issued a warning to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
Race 11   METHVEN SEEDS MOBILE PACE
THE NEXT BEST THING - out of position at the start. Driver O Thornley was issued a warning.
SAMVASA - paced roughly rounding the final bend. Held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver J Curtin advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
AR GEE RULZ - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DELIGHTFUL DREAMS - out of position at the start. Driver W House was issued a warning.
