Stewards monitored the mobile starts due to the prevailing track conditions and following Race 6 when the mobile had difficulty clearing the field, it was agreed in consultation with Starter R Donnelly that Races 8, 9 and 11 be conducted from a moving start.

Connections advised Stewards on 31 August that subsequent blood tests taken from CARBON had revealed no abnormalities and that the gelding had recovered well from its previous start and will continue with its current preparation.

Race 1   CHERTSEY TROTTING CLUB PACE
JESSE OWENS - the required veterinary clearance was received. Broke at the start losing ground. Paced roughly rounding the final bend. Held up early in the run home by a weakening runner. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
DRAGONHILL - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
SABI SANDS - broke at the start and refused to settle losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
BETTOR FEAR ME - lay in early in the run home causing driver G O'Reilly some difficulty.
Race 2   A TEAM CONSTRUCTION TROT
PONTIFF - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
STORMBREAKER - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke again rounding the first bend losing all chance.
MAJESTIC MONKEY - held up early in the run home. Driver R Close advised the gelding had lay inwards rounding the final bend.
HOOFN IT - shifted inwards racing into the first bend crowding SOMETHING ELSE. Driver S Trotter was issued a warning. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer S Trotter advised he will have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
BOJACK HORSEMAN - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
TERRY WEBSTER - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again in the run home losing all chance.
STUARTS BULLER BOY - shifted inwards racing into the first bend crowding KOWHAI SUNBURST before breaking and losing all chance. Driver A Faulks was issued a warning.
WHICH WAY - slow to begin.
SOMETHING ELSE - crowded by an outside runner racing into the first bend and trotted roughly when awkwardly placed close to the sulky of STARSTRUCK.
KOWHAI SUNBURST - crowded by an outside runner racing into the first bend. Raced wide early.
MISTER - trotted roughly in the run home.
Race 3   PERFECT STING AT MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
BEAUTIFUL CRAZY - held up early in the run home. Driver S Ottley advised she was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
PERAKI LAD - raced wide early. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the gelding failed to handle the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Trainer G Payne advised he will have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
Race 4   TERRANOVA SYNDICATE 2YO FILLIES MOBILE PACE
SMACKDOWN - trainer S Reid was issued a $50 Minor Infringement Notice for being late to notify the filly would be racing with blinds.
CATH - held up leaving the final bend.
SONG OF SEAS - trainer T Bagrie was issued a $50 Minor Infringement Notice for being late to notify the filly would be racing with blinds. Broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
Race 5   ADVANCED FEED MOBILE PACE
THE MANDALORIAN - over-raced middle stages.
SHADOW CREEK - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m.
WAVEWATCHER - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver O Thornley advised the gelding failed to handle the track conditions.
KNOCKSHANBALLY - weakened from the 500m hampering trailing runners.
LOUIS - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Ottley. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend.
ALMIGHTY CLEVER - the required veterinary clearance was received.
GLIDING HIGH - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m.
ELITE STYX - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
Trainer B Weaver advised Stewards on 21 September SHADOW CREEK has been treated for a foot abscess since last racing.

CLOVELLY HILL - held up by a weakening runner final bend.

FLYAWAY - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Hung inwards early in the run home.
MAJOR HAPPY - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Held up early in the run home.
CARLIN - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up early in the run home.
STYLE COUNCIL - held up early in the run home.

LINDY'S ROCKET - held up in the run home. Hampered by an inside runner near the 100m.
STEELINTHEHEEL - paced away having to be broken up by driver K Cameron losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.

Race 11   THANKS "WOODLANDS" FOR YEARS OF SPONSORSHIP MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when GLITTERATI lay inwards in the score up checking DR GACHET. Driver S Tomlinson elected to remain in her allocated barrier position for the restart.
JAZZYS UPSTART - late scratching at 10.02am on Veterinary advice.
SMOKING ASHES - broke in the score up of the restart hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
SHEZABETTORGIRL - raced wide early.
GLITTERATI - hung inwards and paced roughly in the run home.
HI LIFE - hampered by a breaking runner early in the score up of the restart. Held up early in the run home. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 859(2) alleging HI LIFE (R Harrison) started from the incorrect barrier position inside BLACKJACK at the restart despite having the opportunity to be in its correct position resulting in the horse gaining an advantage. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and junior driver R Harrison (assisted by G Smith) the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest. Miss Harrison admitted an associated charge in that she allowed HI LIFE to start from the incorrect position and the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
