ALTA METEOR - connections advised on 22 August the gelding has been treated for a respiratory infection since last racing.
Race 10 - GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
Connections advised Stewards on 20 August that blood tests taken from SMOKING ASHES following its last start revealed no abnormalities and it is their intention to continue with the gelding's current preparation.

Race 1   WELCOME TO VIP TRADE RACE NIGHT MOBILE PACE
ALMIGHTY CLEVER - late scratching at 2.40pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
IRISH DREAM - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards on occasions throughout. Struck a track marker when laying in rounding the final bend.
TRUMP CARD - raced wide from the 600m. Paced roughly final bend when laying in.
MATAI HARRY - lay inwards on the bends.
WHYAMIHERE - lay in leaving the final bend. Held up middle stages of the run home.
Race 2   VOLSTEAD NOW AT ALABAR TROT
THE ROYAL GAMBLE - broke at the start losing ground.
TU TANGATA - broke at the start losing ground. Lay in and trotted roughly near the 100m.
Race 3   VIP ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
THE MANTIS - weakened from the 600m hampering a trailing runner and then lay in placing an inside runner in restricted room. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
QUICKER THAN QUICK - junior driver S Hill (assisted by J Dunn) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 600m when shifting ground and contacting the sulky wheel of MIDNIGHT BABE which punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hill's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 24 August 2025 up to and including 4 September 2025 (3 days).
CARBON - raced wide from the 700m. When questioned regarding the performance co-trainer A Telfer advised she was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of muscle tie up with the gelding also treated for mild colic. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
MIDNIGHT BABE - driver D Dolan advised she sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 600m.
TROUBLESHOOTER - placed in restricted room entering the final bend when an outside runner lay in when weakening with TROUBLESHOOTER contacting track markers and breaking in consequence losing all chance.
MOUTON CADET - held up by a weakening runner for a short distance near the 500m.
Connections advised Stewards on 31 August that subsequent blood tests taken from CARBON had revealed no abnormalities and that the gelding had recovered well from its previous start and will continue with its current preparation.
Race 4   VIP INSTALLED TROT
The start was delayed due to MISTER being fractious.
There was a further delay when HOOFN IT swung sideways and MISTER was sent to the unruly position by the Starter where the gelding will remain for future standing starts.
HOOFN IT - attempted to pace shortly after the start and then broke losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
LADY LUCINDA - lay in and raced inside several track markers rounding the final bend.
KOWHAI SUNBURST - broke at the start losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the trainer's request.
SUPERFAST LADY - weakened from the 600m.
STARSTRUCK - broke after 100m losing all chance.
MISTER - refused to come up into its position and swung round at the start losing all chance. Declared a non-runner by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(e) due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start.
DELLA'S FELLA - broke at the 900m losing all chance.
WHICH WAY - slow to begin losing all chance. Connections advised the mare had cast a front shoe during the running.
SOMETHING ELSE - trotted roughly rounding the final bend and lay in and raced inside several track markers. Continued to trot roughly throughout the run home. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had not gained any advantage when racing inside track markers.
HIGHLY RATED - broke after 100m losing all chance.
Race 5   NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES (HEAT 1) MOBILE PACE
JUST LIKE JAGGER - paced roughly shortly after the start. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed lameness in the right hind leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
QUEEN TYRON - over-raced early stages.
CHRISTIES ART - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
GONE SURFIN - awkwardly placed to the inside of QUEEN TYRON near the 500m. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
CAUGHT THE EYE - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
Connections advised Stewards on 31 August that subsequent blood tests taken from CHRISTIES ART had revealed no abnormalities and that the filly had recovered well from its previous start and will continue with its current preparation.
Race 6   OWNTHETHRILL.CO.NZ HANDICAP TROT
BRETT'S MATE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 450m.
LOVE WALKED IN - pre-race warmed. Weakened in the run home.
A FINE PATRICK - broke near the 450m hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
TI AMO BELLE - trainer J Harrington was issued a warning for failing to have the correct colours available. Over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 450m.
PAIGE - trainer B Negus was issued a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified sliding blinds.
CONFESSIONAL - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
Race 7   VIP STRUCTURAL STEEL HANDICAP PACE
SAMVASA - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend. Driver C DeFilippi advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
FRANCO EZRA - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground.
ARIZONAWILDCAT - briefly hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Lay in leaving the final bend.
Race 8   ALLIED SECURITY MAURICE HOLMES VASE (HANDICAP PACE)
WHO'S DELIGHT - fractious prior to the start. Broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages.
Race 9   VIP FRAMES & TRUSSES MOBILE PACE
There was a delay to the start due to OUR SHANGRI LANA losing a shoe in the preliminary which was unable to be replaced.
SONG SUNG BLUE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
MIKI BENNETT - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver T Williams.
MAGICIAN - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver C Dalgety. Raced wide early. Locked wheels briefly with DONMARO which lay out near the 100m.
DONMARO - over-raced middle stages. Held up throughout the run home. Lay out and locked wheels briefly with MAGICIAN near the 100m. Driver B Orange advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
Race 10   VIP TRADE BASIL DEAN FREE-FOR-ALL (MOBILE TROT)
IT'S SO EASY - weakened final bend.
JIMMY CARTER - raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 600m.
MIDNIGHT DASH - held up rounding the final bend.
MR LOVE - broke just prior to the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 11   VIP EXCAVATION & FOUNDATIONS MOBILE PACE
ROYAL BELLE - lay in final bend.
SWIFT MAJOR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver G O'Reilly. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
READY TO DREAM - over-raced middle stages.
DIDJAMAKEANIMPRINT - paced roughly near the 1500m.
Top
