Stewards reconvened the investigation into MAKORORI (N Chilcott) having to be steadied when placed in restricted room near the 70m. After viewing the replays and hearing the relative evidence Stewards issued warnings to Drivers J Stormont (BETTOR BE A LEGEND) and C Hackett (TUAREG) to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the home straight in future.

Race 1   OWN THE THRILL - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOBILE PACE
IM SANDRA DEE - hung outwards rounding the final bend.
CONFEDERATE - Stewards questioned driver S Phelan regarding the manner in which he drove over the concluding stages after the gelding had shifted into the passing lane crowding an inside runner. Mr Phelan advised that his vision had been impeded due to the setting sun which had placed him at a disadvantage. After considering his explanation and viewing all available replays Stewards took the matter no further other than to note the circumstances. Mr Phelan was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
CLOUDING OVER - struck a track marker approaching 50m when briefly placed in restricted room.
THE RASCAL - raced over several track markers late in the run home when placed in restricted room by an outside runner. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the colt raced over track markers due to interference by CONFEDERATE which had shifted into the passing lane late in the run home.
CALORIEFREE - hung outwards final bend and shifted up the track.
Race 2   NZB STANDARDBRED - HERE FOR HORSE MOBILE PACE
EVERNDEN - paced roughly in the early stages.
NO MORE DREAMING - co-trainers B Purdon & S Phelan were issued a warning for being late to notify the colt would be racing with removable deafeners. Held up early in the run home.
GEORGIE BEST - raced wide from the 1000m.
LINCOLN LOVER - held up throughout the run home.
QUEEN LIZZY - a post-race endoscopy requested by trainer M Jones detected a degree of mucus that may have affected the horse's racing performance which was treated. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to the filly racing again.
JOHNNY LINCOLN - raced fiercely middle stages. Became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of EVERNDEN passing the 800m and paced roughly for several strides before being taken out four wide for safety reasons. Hung inwards final bend when weakening. A warning was placed on the racing record of the colt.
Trainer M Jones advised Stewards on 28 August that QUEEN LIZZY has been treated for a respiratory infection since last racing.
Race 3   BLANCHARD RACING STABLES - HERE FOR THE HORSE HCP TROT
SNOWY'S SUCCESS - broke at the start losing ground before settling. Hung inwards near the 250m striking a track marker.
KISSMEILOVEYOU - broke at the start losing ground before settling. Trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out by driver D McGowan.
PIRAYAS - driver T Macfarlane was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion leaving the final bend and again late in the run home.
MASS DISRUPTION - hung outwards racing down the back straight on the final occasion despite the efforts of driver S Abernethy and shifted up the track presenting an inside run to the trailing PIRAYAS.
HELSINGOR - held up early in the run home. Driver H Orange reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
WHATEVER IT TAKES - held up final bend.
GRACE N ELEGANCE - broke near the 300m losing all chance.
HAYLEY MHOR - broke at the start losing ground.
KENNY HILL - broke near the 300m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 4   WOODLANDS STUD - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOBILE PACE
DEAR GOD - broke at the start losing ground before settling. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Lay inwards rounding the first bend striking track markers.
TYSON - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the concluding stages.
DEBBIE LINCOLN - raced wide without cover from the 1150m when unable to secure the position outside the leader which was being held by TWO JULES. Weakened rounding the final bend.
Race 5   DIAMOND RACING STABLES - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOB TROT
BANGKOK BETTY - held up early in the run home.
LOTERIA - broke at the start losing ground before settling. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
CRAZY - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BOLT FOR THE HILL - slow to score up after shifting down inside the marker line despite the efforts of Driver S Burley when leaving the pre-race formation resulting in the gelding being out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
PANTANI - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field. Hung inwards and trotted roughly rounding the final bend. Broke near the 250m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER - over-raced middle stages. Hampered near the 250m by a breaking runner.
Race 6   LINCOLN FARMS - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOBILE PACE
SUGAR RAY LINCOLN - held up throughout the run home.
BETTOR REACTION - held up late in the run home.
HOORAY HENRY - lay inwards rounding the first bend striking track markers.
YOU LITTLE BEAUTY - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Butcher advised the mare had peaked on its run over the concluding stages and considering the closing sectionals he was not disappointed with the effort.
Race 7   THE NORTH ISLAND STANDARDBRED ASSOC. MOBILE TROT
SHESGOLD - broke passing the 150m after contacting the sulky wheel of DRAGONSTONE losing all chance. Driver B Butcher admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butcher's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 29 August 2025 (2 days).
DRAGONSTONE - over-raced middle stages.
COURMAYEUR - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke approaching the 250m losing all chance. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the mare. Connections advised that COURMAYEUR had been striking the sulky wheels.
REGAL GIRL - held up late in the run home.
Race 8   AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOB PACE
BETTER KNUCKLE UP - checked racing into the first bend when AKUTA shifted down to trail the leader resulting in the horse losing ground.
AKUTA - driver M Purdon admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly by shifting ground inwards racing into the first bend when insufficiently clear of BETTER KNUCKLE UP which was checked. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Purdon's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 4 September 2025 (3 days).
Race 9   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY MOBILE TROT
THE FOUR ACES - lay inwards rounding the first bend striking track markers. Continued to lay inwards rounding the bends.
TE AHI - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that TE AHI had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
REDPARK WARRIOR - over-raced middle stages. Trotted roughly final bend. Lay outwards in the run home. Driver S Ottley reported that she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Driver J Stormont (THE FOUR ACES) was issued a warning for using his whip free of the rein in the run home.
