Race 3 - CADUCEUS CLUB FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
The Adjudicative Committee granted a further adjournment into the hearing to consider a charge under Rule 869(3)(g) against Driver J Abernethy (MURTLE THE TURTLE) at the request of Mr Abernethy until a date and time to be fixed after Stewards sought and were granted approval to amend the charge to one under Rule 868(2). The particulars of the charge being that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure his mare was given full opportunity to win the race or obtain the best possible position and/or finishing place by persisting with a challenge for the lead over the initial 550m which has resulted in his runner weakening on the final turn to finish in 9th place beaten 22 lengths.

Race 1   DIAMOND RACING STABLES - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOBILE PACE
ALLETS - when questioned regarding the performance Driver J Dunn stated that the filly was having its first start for a month and had peaked on its run, adding he was not disappointed with the effort.
BRUNTWOOD BRIGADE - held up late in the run home.
KINGS WATCH - raced wide without cover from near the 1600m when unable to obtain the parked position which was being held by TYSON. Weakened from the 500m.
ALWAYS B AN ANGEL - weakened final turn. A post-race endoscopy detected a degree of mucus that may have affected the horse's racing performance. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again. Stewards will follow up with Trainer J Teaz in the coming days.
KINGS WATCH - Trainer T Mitchell advised Stewards on 19 August that the gelding has had its front fetlocks treated since last having raced.
Race 2   TARDINA STUD - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOBILE PACE
BETTOR BE A LEGEND - late scratching on veterinary advice at 9.36am.
CAPTAIN MOONLIGHT - raced keenly when MILFORD improved to its outside approaching the bell. Paced roughly near the 400m.
THE NIGHT AGENT - raced keenly middle stages. Shifted in near the 70m having to be straightened.
Race 3   AUCKLAND EQUINE PERFORMANCE VETS HANDICAP TROT
HILL BILLIE BUNDY - broke near the 1350m hampering trailing runners losing all chance, with GRACE N ELEGANCE being checked and having to take evasive action.
HAPPY HILL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1200m. Broke near the 700m losing all chance.
RUBBLE ON THE DOUBLE - swung outwards at the start and was slow early. Weakened from the 500m.
WIND OF CHANGE - broke at the start losing all chance.
GRACE N ELEGANCE - checked by a breaking runner near the 1200m having to take evasive action.
SUNNY ROBINSON - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered briefly passing the 1200m. Weakened from the 500m.
HAYLEY MHOR - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1200m.
Race 4   WOODLANDS STUD - HERE FOR THE HORSE HANDICAP PACE
BETTOR REACTION - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner, losing ground.
KEVIN KLINE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
LEO LINCOLN - over-raced middle stages.
Race 5   FERGUSON RACING - HERE FOR THE HORSE HANDICAP TROT
FEARLESS - pre-race warmed. Broke at the start losing ground. Broke again passing the 2200m losing further ground. Trotted roughly in the middle stages when over-racing. Broke again on a further occasion near the 40m and failed to settle, being lapped on by CRACKERJACK and SANS AU REVOIR. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(5) against this runner's 3rd placing alleging the gelding was lapped on at the finish line. After viewing replays connections did not contest the protest and FEARLESS was relegated to 5th placing by the Stewards. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
PANTANI - broke passing the 150m losing all chance and locked wheels with REGAL GIRL near the 70m.
CRACKERJACK - lay out at various stages during the running.
SANTAPAZIENZA - Driver H Orange reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking.
REGAL GIRL - lay out and locked wheels with the breaking PANTANI near the 70m.
Race 6   FRANKLIN VETS - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOBILE PACE
CONFEDERATE - Driver Z Butcher was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
CLOUDING OVER - hampered by a breaking runner approaching the first turn with Driver M McKendry being momentarily unbalanced in the sulky, losing ground.
ALWAYS B MAGIC - required the assistance of a Starting Attendant prior to the score-up. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners.
MIKI MIRAGE - broke near the 400m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
BILLY THE KID - broke approaching the first turn hampering trailing runners losing ground, before settling at the rear. Lay in near the 1200m contacting track markers . A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
PRINCESS LISA - checked by a breaking runner approaching the first turn and contacted the sulky of CLOUDING OVER, losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a minor laceration to the near fore pastern which was treated. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
GOTTA GO MIKI - lay in near the 1200m contacting track markers.
Race 7   LINCOLN FARMS - HERE FOR THE HORSE 2YO MOBILE PACE
IRON MIKE TYSON - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
LINCOLN LOVER - had to be steadied briefly passing the 50m after PRINCE LINCOLN and ANDRETTI(AUS) both shifted ground marginally.
ANDRETTI(AUS) - required the assistance of a Starting Attendant prior to the score up. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
ALECTO- Lay in and contacted a track marker near the 250m .
Race 8   NZ TRAINERS & DRIVERS ASSOCIATION NORTH ISLAND HCP TROT
BOSS JO - trotted roughly in the run home.
CRAZY - pre-race warmed. Broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the event by Driver N Chilcott. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
VORONOV - over-raced middle stages.
BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER - lay out leaving the final turn.
