Race 1   ASHBURTON U HIRE MOBILE PACE
HEY BUD - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke briefly racing into the first bend hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Checked by an inside runner near the 1700m and broke briefly losing ground.
TIDY KIWI - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
STAR ON THE ROCKS - raced greenly passing the 1700m checking an outside runner which broke briefly. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until driver G Smith (HEY BUD) placed 2nd, had viewed the replays and confirmed he did not wish to proceed with a protest.

Race 2   FULTON HOGAN PACE
RILEY JOHN - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver G Smith advised he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
GLITTERATI - hampered by a weakening runner near the 800m. Held up early in the run home.
SWIFT GUY - hampered by a weakening runner near the 800m.
WYDA WAKE - weakened in the run home.
PACIFIC THUNDER - tangled away.
DRAGONHILL - weakened from the 800m hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver R Holmes advised he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
VESTA - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the mare failed to handle the track conditions.
Trainer R Holmes advised Stewards on 28 August that DRAGONHILL has been treated for a respiratory infection since last racing.
Race 3   VIABLE AGRICULTURE MOBILE PACE
ALWAYS BEE GEE - held up early in the run home.
Race 4   MT HUTT TROTTING CLUB MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when TIPSTAR broke in the score up checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Driver C DeFilippi elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.
POISON IVY - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
CAPTAIN JOAN - raced wide early. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m and raced wide thereafter.
KOWHAI STAR - driver S Ottley advised she did not activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
SWEET ESPRESSO - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
FEAR GOGH - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
STAR FROM HEAVEN - raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend hampering trailing runners.
KAIRAKI VEGAS - contacted the sulky of KOWHAI STAR passing the 900m and broke hampering trailing runners losing ground. Driver R May defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when allowing his runner to contact the sulky of the runner ahead KOWHAI STAR and break. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr May the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr May's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 17 August up to and including 31 August 2025 (4 days).
COOL LUCY - held up final bend and early in the run home.
DAISY DIANA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m. Held up in the middle stages of the run home.
Race 5   ROBILLIARDS JEWELLERS PACE
MOOSE MOROWSKI - broke briefly at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
CARLIN - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
SANTANNA MACH - tangled away.
Race 6   T F PEARSON MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
WIND IN THE WIRE - weakened near the 900m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
CARRERA KAHU - hampered by a weakening runner near the 900m.
SHAPELY - hampered by a weakening runner near the 900m and broke when shifting outwards near the 850m losing all chance.
THE MANDALORIAN - raced wide early.
ROBYNS ART - held up leaving the final bend.
Race 7   LYNHURST SERVICES / BRICKTECH TROT
GO HOME DENISE - trotted roughly in the early stages. Broke near the 350m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
