Trainer K Barron advised Stewards on 8 August that GO HOME DENISE has recovered well since its previous start and has had a change of shoeing since last racing.

Race 7 - MAXIA DIGEST MOBILE TROT
At an adjourned hearing held on 8 August, driver R Crawford (BEVRON) admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly rounding the final bend by shifting ground outwards when insufficiently clear, resulting in his runner becoming awkwardly placed between ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL and GINAS MAJESTY before breaking. After viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Crawford's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 17 August up to and including 29 August 2025 (3 days).

BAUTISTA - held up leaving the final bend.
MOTOR MOUTH - over-raced early stages.
BETTOR THAN LIZZY - lay outwards in the run home despite the efforts of driver C Dalgety.
RIPTIDE - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early.
QUICKER THAN QUICK - raced wide early and middle stages. Lay inwards and paced roughly at various stages throughout.
SOPHIA BROMAC - over-raced middle stages.
Race 2   WOODLANDS STUD ALL STAR FIVE HANDICAP PACE
DELIGHTFUL DREAMS - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
SAMVASA - over-raced early and middle stages.
LOUIS - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
MIDNIGHT BABE - broke at the start losing ground. Lay in and struck track markers rounding the final bend.
STYLE COUNCIL - held up by a weakening runner near the 600m.
WARLOCH - weakened from the 600m hampering a trailing runner.
TRUMP CARD - raced wide from the 1400m. Weakened final bend.
WUHAN - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend.

Race 3   SEDGWICK - TOGETHER WE THRIVE MOBILE TROT
GERALDINE CLOWERS - broke rounding the final bend losing its chance.
MOLLYS REMEDY - briefly crowded just prior to the start. Raced greenly on several occasions during the running. Weakened final bend.
KOWHAI SUNBURST - lay inwards just prior to the start crowding an inside runner.
NAVY HILL - trotted roughly rounding the final bend. Lay outwards leaving the final bend having to be straightened by driver B Orange.
MISS MELANIE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
LEXICON - trotted roughly racing into the first bend.
DELLA'S FELLA - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Trotted roughly in the score up and was back from the unruly position at the start. Weakened final bend.
Race 4   ALSCO UNIFORMS - IT PAYS TO KEEP CLEAN MOBILE PACE
IRISH DREAM - lay inwards final bend and early in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance co-trainer/driver C DeFilippi advised he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
CRUNCH TIME - weakened from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised the gelding had raced lethargically. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MIGHTY FLYING LOU - hung inwards rounding the final bend and shifted inwards. Again hung inwards early in the run home.
ACTION MAJOR - raced wide early.
STEPHS BOY - lay inwards when attempting to improve near the 500m.
Following this race the track was further downgraded to Slushy.
IRISH DREAM - connections advised on 20 August that blood tests had been taken, which failed to detect any abnormality and it was therefore the intention to continue with the current preparation.
Race 5   DARREN DEFILIPPI MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - tangled away. Lay inwards and struck a track marker leaving the final bend.
DARK GHANA - broke rounding the first bend hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Weakened final bend.
EL CONQUEROR - pre-race warmed. Broke rounding the first bend losing ground.
THE ROYAL GAMBLE - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
BRETT'S MATE - broke rounding the first bend losing ground.
ALMIGHTY - broke at the start losing all chance.
ONE MHOR FOR HEATHER - became awkwardly placed close to the back of EDWARD LONGSHANKS near the 1200m and broke briefly losing ground.
PRINCESS SADIE - broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly for a distance when attempting to pace near the 1600m having to be restrained by its driver hampering a trailing runner and losing ground.
FOUR WISE WOMEN - raced wide from the 600m. Lay outwards in the run home. Driver R Harrison was advised to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
HIGH INTENSITY - slow early. Broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
RACHMANINOV - hampered by PRINCESS SADIE for a distance near the 1600m.
Connections advised Stewards on 11 August that FOUR WISE WOMEN has had a hock treated since last racing.
Race 6   HELPING OUR KIDNEY KIDS LIVE THEIR BEST LIVES MOBILE PACE
RINGLEADER - struck a track marker when placed in restricted room leaving the final bend.
FRANCO LENNON - paced roughly late in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
PATRIARCH - broke in the score up however was in position at the start.
FRANCO ANKARA - lay inwards near the 900m and had to be straightened. Again lay inwards rounding the final bend when weakening placing an inside runner in restricted room.
Race 7   NZI INSURANCE NATIONAL HANDICAP PACE
GOT YOU COVERED - over-raced in the parked position through the middle stages. Weakened final bend.
SLOTS - broke at the start hampering trailing runners losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DALTON SHARD - broke at the start before being hampered by a breaking runner losing ground.
WHO'S DELIGHT - tangled away.
MO'UNGA - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised he was satisfied with the effort given the manner in which the race unfolded with a fast closing last sectional. Mr Butt further advised the gelding had lost momentum when held up briefly leaving the final bend after electing to shift back to the inside to save ground.
ALTA METEOR - connections advised on 22 August the gelding has been treated for a respiratory infection since last racing.
Race 8   STEWART DAWSONS DIAMONDS & WATCHES MOBILE TROT
There was a delay to the start due to BONNIE BAGRIE requiring a change of sulky.
ALDEBARAN REDWOOD - held up rounding the final bend. Stewards questioned driver C DeFilippi regarding his decision to shift inwards at that stage of the race. Mr DeFilippi explained that he felt his runner was under pressure and therefore elected to obtain cover behind the favoured ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL, which was still travelling well at the time. He further stated that he was disappointed with the manner in which his horse finished the race. After considering Mr DeFilippi's explanation and reviewing the replays, Stewards were satisfied that his actions were not unreasonable under the circumstances and determined that no further action was warranted.
MODE - raced wide early and middle stages. Weakened from the 600m.
CHESTER GOLD - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
BEVRON - lay inwards on several occasions in the run home. Driver R Crawford was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Raced wide early and middle stages.
BONNIE BAGRIE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
PEAKNMONKEY - hung inwards when weakening rounding the final bend. Stewards questioned Junior driver S Thornley, assisted by K Barron, regarding the manner he drove near the 350m when allowing his runner to shift ground outwards. Mr Thornley advised that at the time the horse was weakening and hanging when placed under pressure and he was concerned runners to his inside were in restricted room. After hearing his explanation and viewing the replays Stewards advised Mr Thornley not to leave his drives open to query in future.
Race 9   THANK YOU FOR STANDING WITH KIDNEY KIDS NZ HANDICAP TROT
BOUNCE N BEYOND - broke at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
MASTER CLASS - lay inwards losing ground near the 800m.
KAWHI - over-raced middle stages.
PARIS PRINCE - over-raced middle stages. Driver S Thornley advised the gelding had been striking the sulky wheel discs.
JIMMY CARTER - broke after 150m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
LOVE N THE PORT - hampered by a breaking runner after 150m.
Race 10   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
READY TO DREAM - lay inwards and struck track markers rounding the final bend.
CAPTAIN LAWLESS - over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover near the 1000m.
SMOKING ASHES - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced roughly when weakening rounding the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery with signs of muscle tie up. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Connections advised Stewards on 20 August that blood tests taken from SMOKING ASHES following its last start revealed no abnormalities and it is their intention to continue with the gelding's current preparation.
