Race 1   EQUINE SPECIALISTS - SOUTH OF THE BOMBAYS COND MOBILE PACE
INNOCENT MAN - held up by the weakening MARIA KIRILENKO rounding the final turn then broke near the 200m after contacting that runner's sulky wheel. Junior Driver L Hibell (assisted by D Butcher) admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Hibell's driver's licence from conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 15 August 2025 (2 days).
MARIA KIRILENKO - Driver T Cameron was spoken to advisedly for the manner in which he drove in the home straight.
AMARETTO DELIGHT - placed in restricted room late in the run home when TUGAWAR lay in having to be steadied.
OHOKA ACHILLES - when questioned regarding the performance Driver M Ranger stated the gelding had been unsuited to the tempo of tonight's race and was best suited when driven for one run however after having gone back from the wide draw failed to receive a trail into the race as hoped.
TUGAWAR - lay in late in the run home.
Race 2   STONEWALL STUD - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOBILE PACE
PRETTY BOY - broke in the score up and was back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Raced fiercely through the early and middle stages and was retired from the event. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormality.
TUAREG - over-raced in the score up and over the early and middle stages. Weakened in the run home.
GEORGIE BEST - raced wide early. Lay in throughout the run home.
CUPIDS ARROW - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
STICK WITH ME - lay in and paced roughly rounding the final turn.
Race 3   KELATO ANIMAL HEALTH - HERE FOR THE HORSE HANDICAP TROT
BARSUKOV - broke near the 1750m losing considerable ground.
BANGKOK BETTY - weakened rounding the final turn.
SASSY STAR - broke near the 1100m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
SANINARMBRO - broke entering the first turn losing ground before settling at the rear. Over-raced middle stages.
VISCOUNT MACKENDON - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Raced wide without cover from the 800m.
BOLT FOR THE HILL - shifted out near the 250m when Driver S Burley was activating the deafeners but was immediately corrected.
Trainer S Cornwall advised Stewards on 25 August that SASSY STAR has had both knees treated since last having raced.
Race 4   LINCOLN FARMS - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOBILE PACE
BEACHBREAK - paced roughly in the run home.
ZAMPERINI - weakened rounding the final turn.
DEAR GOD - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Lay in near the 1250m contacting a track marker.
TYSON - lay in when attempting to improve wide from the 1400m. Continued to lay in proving difficult for Driver M McKendry. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
WOTSONYAMIND - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Lay in throughout the score up and was back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Continued to lay in at various stages. Raced wide for a distance during the middle stages. When questioned into performance driver M Purdon was of the opinion the gelding would derive benefit from tonight's race.
SUGAR RAY LINCOLN - late scratching at 7.14pm on veterinary advice after sustaining an abrasion on the right hind when kicking out and contacting the sulky during the preliminary.
Race 5   WORLDS BEST HOOF OIL - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOBILE PACE
KEVIN KLINE - over-raced middle stages.
HOORAY HENRY - lay in contacting a track marker near the 1250m with trailing runners also contacting track markers.
MIGHTY LOOEE - co-trainer R Dunn was warned for presenting the gelding to race with the incorrect saddle cloth number. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened in the run home.
Race 6   WOODLANDS STUD - HERE FOR THE HORSE HANDICAP TROT
The start at the first attempt was delayed when the field had to be turned out of line due to the Starter not being satisfied with the manner in which the horses addressed the barriers.
SHESGOLD - when questioned regarding performance Driver B Butcher stated that he wasn't overly disappointed with the run after having to race wide rounding the final turn.
YA EEJIT YA - pre-race warmed. Over-raced middle stages.
CASTANA - Junior Driver T Hanara (assisted by B Butcher) admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $500. Ms Hanara was also warned for crossing her reins and performing a celebratory gesture late in the run home.
IT AIN'T ME BABE - broke shortly after the start losing ground before settling at the rear. Weakened in the run home.
BELLE NEIGE - held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
MATTY A - raced four wide from the 600m.
Race 7   FRANKLIN VETS - HERE FOR THE HORSE MOBILE PACE
BENJAMIN BUTTON - over-raced middle stages. Weakened in the run home.
TYTATE - Driver S Burley reported that she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
SECRETS ABOUND - paced roughly nearing the 1300m having to be steadied. Lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
PROVISEUR - over-raced when being restrained to take cover shortly after the start. Continued to over-race middle stages. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight.
NELSON'S BOY - broke entering the first turn losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Race 8   NZ TRAINERS & DRIVERS ASSOCIATION NORTH ISLAND HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed at the first attempt when IM A ROCKSTAR bounded forward and breasted the front barrier. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
REBEL CASTLETON - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Broke again rounding the first turn losing all chance and was retired from the event.
IM A ROCKSTAR - weakened rounding the final turn.
WHATEVER IT TAKES - broke at the start losing all chance.
