Race 1   SCARLET & ELLIOT'S RACE TO RAISE FUNDS MOBILE PACE
LOVEYOURMOTHER - out of position at the start. When questioned regarding this driver A Edge advised the mobile gate had shifted up the track just prior to the start leaving a gap between the barrier arm and the marker line and he was reluctant to come up into position in case the horse attempted to start ahead of the gate. After considering his explanation and viewing the replays, Stewards took the matter no further. Lay inwards at various stages during the running.
MOTOR MOUTH - over-raced middle stages when leading.
Race 2   THANK YOU, BILL & HELEN BISHOP & CANTY EQUINE CLINIC TROT
PAT BENATAR - broke at the start losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
HOOFN IT - began awkwardly.
PHANTOM SPUR - began awkwardly. Raced greenly near the 1100m and then raced wide from the 900m.
SOMETHING ELSE - broke briefly at the start. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages. Driver P Nairn was issued a warning for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home.
KINGAROY - raced wide from the 700m.
KOWHAI SUNBURST - paced at the start before breaking and losing all chance.
KAMILLA - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke again rounding the first bend losing all chance and was retired from the race.
JUST CHARLIE - raced wide early until reaching the parked position near the 1500m. Weakened rounding the final bend. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 3   WOODLANDS STUD PRODUCING WORLD-CLASS EQUINE ATHLETES PACE
ARCHER - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages.
JAKE - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
HEAVEN FORBID - broke near the 250m after contacting the sulky wheel of JAKE losing all chance. Driver R Cameron admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Cameron's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 10 August 2025 (2 days).
DANCE MONKEY - broke briefly at the start.
Following this race the track was upgraded to Good.
Trainer B Weaver advised Stewards on 7 August that DANCE MONKEY has been treated for stomach ulcers since last racing.
Race 4   NZ HORSE AMBULANCE POWERED BY AVON CITY FORD MOBILE PACE
ULTIMATE SEISATION - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
FEAR GOGH - held up late in the run home.
SMOOTH SCOOB - paced roughly and broke after 100m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
BEAUTIFUL CRAZY - over-raced middle stages. Lay outwards in the run home.
Race 5   STONEWALL STUD & STABLES MOBILE PACE
IVONA DADIC - lay in and contacted track markers rounding the final bend. Held up early in the run home.
PATIRO - raced wide from the 600m.
Authorisation of placings was delayed until Stewards confirmed the correct order of placings with the TAB as being DIDJASHOUTTHEBAR, MELTON MAGNATE, BRONSKI, LORD MUDRICK and IVONA DADIC after the initial Judge's call had omitted BRONSKI before being corrected in accordance with Rule 874(1).
Trainer B Weaver advised Stewards on 7 August that THE MANDALORIAN has been treated for dehydration and stomach ulcers since last racing.
Race 6   POWERED BY EQUINE PRODUCTS NZ & MARK JONES RACING PACE
The start was delayed due to the Starter not being satisfied with the manner in which the field approached the barrier with BLASTFROMTHEPAST being fractious and contacting the barrier. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
WILLY AWAY - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Held up final bend by a weakening runner. Broke over the concluding stages losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
IM ALL IN - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Held up final bend by a weakening runner. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 150m.
PACIFIC THUNDER - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
ALWAYS B HAYLEY - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. Struck the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Driver M Jones was issued a warning for contacting a track marker. Paced roughly and broke near the 150m and again near the 100m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor wound on the off front heel.
CARLIN - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
Race 7   BOB BUTT RACING STABLES SUPPORT NZ HORSE AMBULANCE TROT
ORIGIN - lay in and struck a track marker near the 1500m. Again lay inwards and struck a track marker rounding the final bend.
FIVE MONKEYS - lay inwards near the 1500m striking track markers.
MUSCLYNN - held up throughout the run home. Driver P Wakelin advised she did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
SPEEDING SPIRIT - lay inwards and trotted roughly early in the run home.
YOSEMITE - raced wide from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver B Munro advised he was disappointed with the effort and the mare will be sent for a spell.
CAPPAHA - lay inwards when trotting roughly rounding the final bend and in the initial stages of the run home and was unable to be shifted wider by driver R Holmes when proving difficult. Held up in the run home. Mr Holmes advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
KISS ME KATE - broke after 100m losing all chance.
SWITCH ON - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
Race 8   MONTANA PARK SUPPORTS OUR EQUINE ATHLETES MOBILE PACE
SHADOW CREEK - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hung outwards for a distance passing the 800m losing ground.
REGGIE GOLIGHTLY - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was further examined prior to the start after warming up in an unfavourable manner and was cleared to start. Over-raced when leading. Weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate with a good recovery. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
BELMONT VALOR - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
LONNEKERS - lay in and struck a track marker near the 1500m. Again lay inwards and struck track markers rounding the final bend. Held up early in the run home.
KOWHAI NUGGET - lay inwards and struck track markers rounding the final bend.
SANTANNA MACH - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - lay inwards near the 700m having to be straightened by driver J Morrison.
EZRA THE SCRIBE - weakened in the run home.
