|---|---|
| GRAPHITE - lay in and contacted a track marker near the 250m. | |
| TYSON - lay in middle stages when racing outside the leader. | |
| BIG HERB - held up early and middle stages of the run home. | |
| WALTZING WITH MIKI - had some difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight. | |
| J T BOE - paced roughly in the run home. | |
| Race 2 CLASSIQUE LANDSCAPERS TROT | |
|---|---|
| IM A ROCKSTAR - fractious prior to the start and stood on the mark when the barrier was released losing considerable ground. Lay in contacting a track marker entering the first turn. When questioned regarding the performance Driver C Hackett advised that losing the early ground and then racing without cover from near the 1300m had taken its toll. | |
| PIRAYAS - lay in and contacted a track marker near the 1900m and then again rounding the final turn. Lay in and contacted a further track marker passing the 100m. Driver T Macfarlane was warned for using his whip in a continuous manner late in the run home. | |
| REBEL CASTLETON - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not raced for considerable period and was cleared to start. Broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Raced keenly middle stages. | |
| MASS DISRUPTION - broke near the 1800m losing ground before settling at the rear. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. | |
| Race 3 CADUCEUS CLUB FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE | |
|---|---|
| GOTTA GO MIKI - raced four wide from the 600m. | |
| MURTLE THE TURTLE - unsuccessfully contested for the early lead. Driver J Abernethy was warned for the manner in which he shifted ground approaching the 1000m which resulted in PRINCESS LISA being momentarily hampered. Weakened final turn and lay in contacting a track marker near the 250m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Mr Abernethy was issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(g) alleging that he drove in a manner which diminished his mare's chances of winning by persisting with a challenge for the lead over the initial 550m. The matter was opened and adjourned sine die by the Adjudicative Committee. | |
| C U THERE - held up final turn. | |
| SWEET MAGGIE MAE - held up final turn and until near the 100m. | |
| MARY MAGDALENE - broke entering the first turn losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners. | |
| ALWAYS B AN ANGEL - held up early in the run home. | |
| The Adjudicative Committee granted a further adjournment into the hearing to consider a charge under Rule 869(3)(g) against Driver J Abernethy (MURTLE THE TURTLE) at the request of Mr Abernethy until a date and time to be fixed after Stewards sought and were granted approval to amend the charge to one under Rule 868(2). The particulars of the charge being that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure his mare was given full opportunity to win the race or obtain the best possible position and/or finishing place by persisting with a challenge for the lead over the initial 550m which has resulted in his runner weakening on the final turn to finish in 9th place beaten 22 lengths. | |
| Race 4 JOIN TAB RACING CLUB MOBILE PACE | |
|---|---|
| ALWAYS FLYIN - the off side breastplate strap became detached during the running. | |
| MINJEE - weakened in the run home. A post race endoscopic procedure revealed a respiratory infection which will be treated. | |

| BOLT FOR THE HILL - broke at the start losing all chance. | |
| BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER - held up final turn. When questioned regarding his decision to remain on the back of the leader SANINARMBRO approaching the 500m prior to having been covered by CASTANA, Junior Driver J Dunn (assisted by B Butcher) explained that SANINARMBRO appeared to be travelling well at this stage and felt that the mare would take him to the passing lane however this had not occurred on this occasion. Stewards were satisfied that the manner in which Mr Dunn drove was not unreasonable given the circumstances and took the matter no further. | |
| IT AIN'T ME BABE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 650m. | |
