Race 1   IN LOVING MEMORY OF BRIAN WHITING MOBILE PACE
PRINCESS LISA - lay in contacting a track marker near the 300m.
BEACHBREAK - raced wide from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance Co-Trainer S Telfer advised he was slightly disappointed with the effort which he could only attribute to the gelding having done too well since its previous race.
TYSON - raced wide early. Shifted out early in the run home but was corrected by Driver Z Butcher.
DOMINUS - raced wide early and middle stages. Weakened final bend.
Race 2   CLASSIQUE LANDSCAPERS - METRO TROTTERS HEAT 1 HCP TROT
CYCLONE SALA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened rounding the final bend.
SANTAPAZIENZA - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the horse's barrier manners.
SANINARMBRO - over-raced middle stages.
VISCOUNT MACKENDON - held up briefly rounding the final bend.
CRACKERJACK - Driver P Ferguson reported that he didn't activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MARO MACKENDON - when questioned regarding the performance Driver C Hackett stated that the gelding had over-raced middle stages which had taken its toll.
TWO FRANCS - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Had to be steadied near the 1200m when WESTAR MILLY shifted out into the running line. Raced greenly at various stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
FATHER BARRY - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
Race 3   NEVELE R - PEBBLE BEACH - METRO PACERS HEAT 1 MOB PACE
CLOUDING OVER - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend.
CAPTAINS SECRET - broke entering the first bend hampering trailing runners and galloped for a considerable distance before settling towards the rear. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners
TURN O THE TIDE - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend.
ROY KENT - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend. Lay out under pressure during the run home.
SUGAR RAY LINCOLN - broke near the 350m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Race 4   LISTEN LIVE ON SPORTNATION.NZ - METRO TROTTERS HEAT 2 TROT
CASTANA - Driver T Hanara was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home.
JASINOVA - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
DRAGONSTONE - fractious prior to the start. Trotted roughly over the early stages. Stewards reviewed the start and were satisfied that the mare had not started in advance of its correct unruly position.
PANTANI - slow early. Lay in and trotted roughly rounding the final bend losing ground. Continued to lay in early stages of the run home. Stewards questioned Driver D Butcher regarding his driving tactics in the run home. Mr Butcher explained that the gelding was having its first start in seven months and had experienced difficulty negotiating the bends, particularly the final bend. He further stated that the gelding had galloped during a recent workout, which made him cautious about placing the horse under undue pressure until it had fully balanced up in the run to the finish.
BRAVEHEARTHIGHLANDER - over-raced middle stages.
Race 5   JOIN TAB RACING CLUB - METRO PACERS HEAT 2 MOB PACE
SEMBA - held up early final bend.
LEO LINCOLN - held up throughout the run home.
HOORAY HENRY - held up final bend and early stages of the run home.
Race 6   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY - METRO TROTTERS HEAT 3 HANDICAP TROT
REGAL GIRL - contacted the track marker prior to entering the passing lane. Driver T Herlihy was issued a warning.
FEARLESS - broke near the 200m losing its chance.
THAT'S WHAT WE DO - lay outwards rounding the final bend despite the efforts of Driver J Dickie. Weakened in the run home.
KISS AND RUN - over-raced middle stages. Lay out over the concluding stages.
COURMAYEUR - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
Race 7   QUIZ NIGHT EVERY WEDNESDAY AT THE ALEX MOBILE PACE
ABMAN - weakened from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
IRON HEART - broke near the 1800m losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners. Weakened in the run home.
THE RASCAL - paced roughly rounding the first bend losing ground. Continued to pace roughly at various stages and in particular rounding the final bend.
CAPTAIN MOONLIGHT - raced keenly middle stages after having unsuccessfully looked for the lead.
Race 8   THAI NIGHT AT ALEX PARK 29 AUG - BOOK NOW MOBILE PACE
BENJAMIN BUTTON - broke briefly early in the score up. Over-raced middle stages.
MICK KONSTANTIN - paced roughly shortly after the start.
WALTZING WITH MIKI - lay in late in the score up.
MEDINA MAGIC - Co-Trainer S Telfer admitted a charge under Rule 865(2) in that he presented the gelding to race without the notified blinds. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $150.
