Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. MOBILE PACE
MACK PACK - weakened final bend.
RUSTENBURG - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay in and paced roughly rounding the final bend.
PLAYING WITH STARS - trainer T Bagrie was issued a warning for failing to have mudguards affixed to his sulky. Weakened final bend.
CHRISTIES ART - raced wide early. Driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
STEALERS WHEEL - lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1500m.
DON JUAN - out of position at the start. Driver T Duley was issued a warning.
Race 2   CONTINENTAL EVENT HIRE MOBILE PACE
Due to the prevailing wind the Starter had difficulty retracting the mobile arms after the 2600m start.
BRITE LEDGER - weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BLACKJACK - paced roughly when attempting to improve near the 350m.
SWEET GUINESS - raced wide early.
KOTARE ARGENT - lay inwards on several occasions during the running. Raced greenly final bend and was awkwardly placed to the inside of SMOKING ASHES near the 300m.
HEAVEN'S MARK - raced wide early.
SMOKING ASHES - lay inwards near the 300m and was awkwardly placed close to the weakening KOTARE ARGENT which raced greenly.
Race 3   THE PENINSULAR BEACHFRONT RESORT. MOOLOOLABA HCP TROT
TAKE AFTER ME - broke near the 2100m hampering trailing runners and then paced having to be returned to its correct gait losing all chance.
HERE COMES JANE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2100m. Broke approaching the 2000m losing ground.
DENVER - broke at the start losing all chance.
SNOOOWGOOD - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2100m.
FATHER MIKE - broke near the 2100m losing ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation during the running.
RANDEL HUSTON P - broke briefly near the 1700m. Broke near the 1400m losing ground. Broke again on several occasions losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
KOKO KABOOM - pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly in the early stages. Driver W House was issued a warning when allowing his runner to start wider on the track than his allocated barrier position. In assessing this, Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not gained any advantage.
Race 4   IT'S TIME TO BOOK WITH WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE
DELIGHTED - weakened from the 400m hampering a trailing runner.
THE SEAMSTRESS - over-raced early stages.
B MY LOVER - weakened final bend.
TALLANDFAST - hampered by a weakening runner near the 400m.
DO YOU WANNA DANCE - when questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson advised he was slightly disappointed and was unable to provide any tangible reason.
Race 5   LAMB & HAYWARD HANDICAP TROT
LOOKSLIKEATRIXTER - slow to begin. Hung outwards losing ground rounding the first bend.
OUR EVIE RAE - hung outwards for a distance passing the 1300m.
WHAT THE DRAGON - lay out leaving the final bend.
DESBOIS - raced wide early. Weakened final bend.
PAIGE - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
Race 6   KIDNEY KIDS NZ CHARITY RACENIGHT 8 AUGUST HANDICAP PACE
A false start was declared when the 10 metre barrier strand contacted the sulky mudguard of BLACK MACH and failed to clear the track inconveniencing COCKTAILS AND CAVIAR.
GOT YOU COVERED - over-raced middle stages.
EBURY STREET - lay in when weakening final bend.
BLACK MACH - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SLOTS - late scratching at 8.50am on Veterinary advice.
Race 7   PASCOES THE JEWELLERS MOBILE PACE
KOWHAI NUGGET - lay outwards and paced roughly for a distance after the start and then broke racing into the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
FLYING BIRD - driver M Williamson was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
WUHAN - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
STEPHS BOY - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner and lay inwards contacting several track markers. When questioned regarding the performance, driver H Douglas stated that the gelding had to work too hard from a wide barrier draw in the early stages to reach the lead, and then came under further pressure to maintain that position shortly after, which had taken its toll.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 8   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND SILK ROAD SERIES (HEAT 2) HCP TROT
ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL - lay inwards rounding the first bend.
ARADNE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
WAIHEMO HANNAH - lay inwards having to be straightened by driver J Dunn placing an inside runner in restricted room after 100m.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - slow in the early stages.
BONNIE BAGRIE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
IT'S SO EASY - locked stays with FOUR WISE WOMEN after 100m and when becoming detached, shifted ground abruptly making contact with an outside runner before breaking shortly after and losing ground.
FOUR WISE WOMEN - raced in restricted room after 100m when runners either side shifted ground marginally, locking stays with both HOLLY HIGHLANDER, which had been dictated inwards, and IT'S SO EASY, which shifted ground sharply after locking stays, resulting in the mare breaking and losing considerable ground. After hearing from drivers P Davis (IT'S SO EASY) and T Williams (FOUR WISE WOMEN) and reviewing the films, Stewards were unable to attribute blame to any one horse or driver.
HOLLY HIGHLANDER - placed in restricted room when an outside runner lay inwards being dictated inwards locking stays briefly with an inside runner after 100m.
TI AMO BELLE - connections advised the mare would be racing without front shoes. Slow over the early stages. Broke near the 250m losing its chance.
Race 9   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
SAUCY DELIGHT - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming. Over-raced middle stages.
