Race 4 - WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE |
Stewards spoke with drivers H Douglas (SARGENT BEST), assisted by M Williamson, and C Ferguson (ARTMORE) regarding the incident near the 1600m when ARTMORE shifted ground inwards resulting in SARGENT BEST having to be restrained. After viewing the footage and hearing from both drivers, C Ferguson was issued with a warning for the manner he shifted ground at this stage of the race. |

MIKI COHEN - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer/driver K Green advised the gelding had benefitted from a freshen up and received a soft run today. | |
PROSPERITY - raced wide early. Weakened rounding the final bend. When asked to comment on the performance trainer/driver C Ferguson advised that working hard early had taken its toll on the gelding. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed some lameness in the right hind leg. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days. | |

SKY ROCKET - over raced in the score up causing driver W House some difficulty. Lay inwards on the bends. Weakened leaving the final bend. When asked to comment on the tactics he adopted passing the 1800m when shifting off the marker line to race parked Mr House advised he believed the leader (BOBBIES ROCK) had worked hard in the early stages and rather than stay four back on the marker line and risk possibly being denied an uninterrupted run to line over the concluding stages he elected to shift out and challenge for the lead. He added on reaching the parked position he was unable to progress further forward and had no option but to stay parked with the effort taking its toll over the concluding stages. Stewards noted Mr House's comments. |
