Race 1   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS HANDICAP TROT
ROYAL SECRET - broke near the 1600m losing considerable ground.
BUYNOWPAYLATER - shifted out when the barriers were released then broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground and trailed the field throughout.
HELSINGOR - approval was given for the removal of the notified blinds due to the prevailing conditions. Lay in contacting track markers rounding the first turn.
CHESINOV - slow early losing ground. Broke near the 700m losing all chance.
KENNY HILL - broke passing the 200m losing all chance.
BROTHER JOHNSON - lay in throughout the run home despite the efforts of Driver D Butcher placing SCOOTS in restricted room over the final 50m with that runner being checked just after the winning post. When questioned Mr Butcher advised that he had been unable to relieve the pressure to SCOOTS over the final stages due to NIAMH which was racing to his outside having followed him down the track. A warning was placed on BROTHER JOHNSON's racing manners.
Race 2   C&R DEVELOPMENTS MOBILE PACE
NAGINI - over-raced briefly middle stages on a moderate tempo.
TUAREG - over-raced early when being restrained.
Race 3   CAMBRIDGE GRAINS MOBILE TROT
TRIFOLIUM - broke near the 500m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance.
CRAZY - pre-race warmed. Broke near the 400m losing its chance.
WESTAR MILLY - hampered early stages of the score up and was back from position at dispatch. Raced four wide from near the 600m.
ALL MUSCLED UP - lay in early in the score up hampering a trailing runner before breaking and was back from position at dispatch. Lay in contacting track markers entering the first turn. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 500m losing ground.
FATHER BARRY - back from position at dispatch. Raced wide early.
RUN FOREST RUN - back from the unruly position latter stages of the score up.
Race 4   GREGORY EQUINE MOBILE PACE
ACE DANCER - when questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver B Butcher advised that he was slightly disappointed with the first up effort but expected the gelding to drive benefit from the run.
MISS WOODVILLE - commenced to over-race entering the back straight the first time and was taken forward to race outside the leader.
HANDSOME ROB - broke briefly early in the score up and was back from position at dispatch. Over-raced early when being restrained. Weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
Race 5   BETAVET PREPARE MOBILE PACE
BENSON DUDE - when questioned regarding the performance Driver S Abernethy advised that the gelding had received every opportunity but felt that this runner may be better suited over a longer distance than tonight's 1700m..
MARIA KIRILENKO - Driver J Abernethy was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
SEA OF LOVE - held up early in the run home.
OHOKA ACHILLES - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld to enable Stewards to view the replays of the run home and to question Junior Drivers K Coppins (JACCKA OPA), assisted by R Lawson, and M Ranger (OHOKA ACHILLES), assisted by S Abernethy, in relation to an incident passing the 100m where JACCKA OPA (3rd place) paced roughly when to the inside of OHOKA ACHILLES which shifted inwards so as to ascertain whether there were grounds for a protest. It was established that there was not a full run available for JACCKA OPA to improve prior to OHOKA ACHILLES shifting inwards with Stewards electing not to proceed with the protest. The connections of JACCKA OPA also elected not to proceed with a protest against OHOKA ACHILLES's first placing with placings then being duly authorised. Ms Ranger was issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) on the grounds that she drove carelessly in this incident and indicated that she would be defending the charge. The matter was adjourned until the Waikato BOP Harness meeting to be held on the 10 July 2025.
AUCTIONEER - held up final turn and throughout the run home when unable to secure clear racing room.
Race 6   MAJESTIC HORSE FLOATS MID XMAS HANDICAP TROT
ORDAINED - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Contacted track markers near the 250m when in restricted room.
TWO FRANCS - reared at the start and was slow to begin. Raced wide early. Lay in at various stages and in particular passing the 800m. Trotted roughly throughout the run home and could not be driven out.
HUGHIE WALLACE - connections advised that the gelding has had its stifles treated since last having raced.
MAKAKU - broke near the 750m losing all chance.
Race 7   GAVELHOUSE.COM MOBILE PACE
SHOWTYM GIRL - driver N Chilcott reported that she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
TUGAWAR - late scratching at 3.48pm due to transport difficulties.
FLYING DRAGON - when questioned regarding the performance Driver S Abernethy was unable to provide any explanation.
GOTTA GO MIKI - held up early in the run home.
Race 8   HRNZ/CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY FAREWELL DEAN SHANNON HCP PACE
LEWEY MAGUIRE - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened leaving the final turn.
BETTOR REACTION - broke briefly at the start.
PROVISEUR - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages.
SEMBA - over-raced middle stages.
HERB - shifted out on straightening for the run home but was corrected by Driver C Hackett.
