Race 1   DESIGNED BY HARRISON BLOY MOBILE PACE
PARTNERS IN WINE - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised he was not disappointed with the effort given it was the mare's first start in three weeks and would derive benefit from the race.
THE COALMAN - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
CHRISTIES ART - driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
DONE ROCKN - hung inwards on several occasions throughout causing driver J Curtin difficulty. Weakened final bend.
MIRACLE MEMPHIS - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver W House. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
Co-trainer I Thomas advised Stewards on 13 July PARTNERS IN WINE has been treated for a stone bruise since last racing.
Race 2   CHESTER'S PLUMBING & BATHROOMS MOBILE PACE
CARRERA VAMOS - raced greenly in the early stages and hung outwards rounding the first bend hampering outside runners before breaking losing ground. Weakened from the 1000m. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly had bitten her tongue with no other abnormalities.
BETTOR N JOY - weakened from the 500m.
SUMMER ROSE - lay inwards and struck a track marker rounding the final bend.
CONNIE GOLIGHTLY - hampered rounding the first bend.
JUSTA RIPPA - paced roughly shortly after the start having to be steadied. Shifted inwards racing into the first bend placing an inside runner in restricted room. Driver B Hope was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Raced wide early.
ULTIMATE GLADIATOR - hampered by an outside runner rounding the first bend and struck track markers. Over-raced middle stages. Driver S Ottley reported the sulky footrest broke rounding the final bend causing her some difficulty and she did not activate the removable gear in consequence.
SHADES OF ROBYN - hampered rounding the first bend. Paced roughly and hung outwards through the middle stages. Weakened final bend and lay inwards striking track markers.
SMOKING ASHES - placed in restricted room by an outside runner racing into the first bend. Raced wide early. Driver R Harrison advised she was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
Race 3   HYDROFLOW DISTRIBUTORS LTD TROT
SEE NO EVIL - broke near the 1000m losing all chance. Driver K Butt reported the filly cast the off hind shoe shortly after the start.
CHESTER GOLD - broke after 100m losing all chance.
VIVA LA VIDA - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again passing the 800m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
HARRIET'S MOMENT - over-raced middle stages. Raced greenly early in the run home and shifted outwards near the 150m forcing AMENDMENT wider on the track.
AMENDMENT - forced to race wider on the track near the 150m when HARRIET'S MOMENT shifted outwards. Driver B Butt confirmed his chances of finishing in a higher position had not been affected.
Race 4   AQUACRAFT PLUMBING HANDICAP PACE
NEXT LEVEL - slow to begin. Weakened from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance driver K Butt was unable to provide any explanation.
Race 5   HARRISON BLOY PLUMBING & BATHROOMS MOBILE TROT
BRETT'S MATE - held up final bend. When questioned regarding his tactics near the 1200m driver K Cameron advised he was reluctant to shift outwards given that the horse racing in the parked position had worked hard in the early stages when unsuccessfully challenging for the lead and was concerned this horse would weaken resulting in him having to improve wide on the track. After considering his explanation, Stewards were satisfied his tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.
FLORENCE THE MACHINE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened leaving the final bend.
BULLIT TRAIN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1500m.
MY ROYAL BREAK - broke near the 1500m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Broke again near the 1100m losing all chance.
THE ROYAL GAMBLE - trotted roughly shortly after the start. Raced wide early. Weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Thornley advised the gelding had worked too hard in the early stages with the effort taking its toll.
ALMIGHTY - held up for clear racing room passing the 150m. Returned to the assembly area with blood present in the nose area. A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination confirmed the mare was not a bleeder.
Race 6   CHESTER'S - NOW OPEN IN SYDENHAM & RANGIORA MOBILE PACE
KOTARE RIMU - driver B Munro admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Munro's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 13 July 2025 (4 days).
SIMPLY AMAZING - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend.
HELIUS - lay inwards near the 1500m striking a track marker. Lay inwards again leaving the final bend striking a track marker.
SAMTANA - co-trainers R & J Dunn were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the gelding to race with removable deafeners which had not been notified. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery.
Race 7   PLUMBING WORLD 'SILK ROAD' MARES' FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
ZARLINI - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the middle stages of the run home.
DANCING DESIRE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Thornley. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
ESMERALDA - paced roughly and broke early in the run home losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of muscle tie-up. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
AKATEA - driver T Williams was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
ESMERALDA - trainer G O'Reilly advised on the 25 September the mare was sent for a spell since last racing.
Race 8   BC PLUMBERS PACE
CARBON - broke at the start losing ground.
DELIGHTFUL DREAMS - began awkwardly.
WHATZ MY CHOICE - lay inwards final bend striking track markers.
STYLISH LUSTRE - over-raced early and middle stages.
WHO'S YOUR DRAGON - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Weakened final bend.
OCEAN OF TEARS - driver J Morrison advised he did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
SAMVASA - held up throughout the run home. Driver J Curtin advised the gelding had hung outwards in the run home causing him difficulty and he did not activate the sliding blinds in consequence. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 9   COCA-COLA MOBILE TROT
MM SUNSHINE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver R Holmes hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
CORMORAN STRIKE - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
IT'S SO EASY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 600m.
ROYAL DEL - raced wide early.
MASTER CLASS - hampered by a breaking runner near the 600m.
WILMA'S BOY - lay inwards near the 1500m striking track markers. Broke passing the 600m hampering trailing runners losing all chance. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised the gelding may not have handled the loose nature of the slushy track tonight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
I DREAM OF JEANNIE - raced wide early. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 600m.
PAIGE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 600m.
FREYA - hampered in the score up and was out of position at the start.
Race 10   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
THE BETTOR MAJOR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
TOBY TOM B - the near hind bandage came adrift during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be sufficiently taped with trainer K Barron deemed not to be at fault.
WHYAMIHERE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Curtin. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
STEPHS BOY - lay inwards near the 1500m striking a track marker.
MATAI HARRY - trainer M House was issued a warning for failing to have mudguards affixed to his sulky.
SEACRACKA - trainer J Cox was issued a warning for failing to have mudguards affixed to his sulky. Over-raced early stages. Had to be restrained to the rear of the field near the 1000m after being unsuccessful in reaching the parked position. Weakened near the 800m. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised the mare had over-raced causing him difficulty. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
