Race Comments

Race 1   O'CONNOR WARREN INSURANCE AMATEUR DRIVERS MOB PACE
The start was delayed approximately 11 minutes due to MR WONDERFUL kicking out in the score up then falling to the track. This runner was immediately attended to by the Veterinarian with the Horse Ambulance not being required. The entire was declared a late scratching at 5.20pm by order of the Stewards. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. A veterinary examination revealed superficial abrasions to off hind leg. The start was further delayed due to the track having to be dragged.
OHOKA ACHILLES - paced roughly at the start. Over-raced middle stages.
MARIA KIRILENKO - weakened leaving the final turn.
RIVERBOY BEN - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
Race 2   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION MOBILE PACE
GRAPHITE - shifted out early in the run home but was corrected by Driver J Dickie.
AMARETTO DELIGHT - lay in contacting track markers near the 900m.
KOWALSKI - paced roughly near the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
LOVEABULL - over-raced middle stages. Held up briefly approaching the 100m.
Race 3   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE TROT
CHESINOV - Trainer L Chin was issued a warning for the late notification of himself as the driver. Slow early. Lost ground near the 1100m and trailed the field thereafter before breaking late in the run home. A warning was placed on the gelding's performance.
ORDAINED - had to be steadied passing the 200m when momentarily placed in restricted room after inside and outside runners shifted ground marginally.
CRAZY - pre-race warmed.
RUN FOREST RUN - over-raced early and middle stages.
Race 4   JOAN GRICE'S 99TH BIRTHDAY MOBILE PACE
I CAN TOO - Trainer B Butcher was issued a warning for the late notification of himself as the driver.
TUGAWAR - threw its head on several occasions late in the score up and was slow early.
GOTTA GO MIKI - when questioned regarding the performance Co-Trainer/Driver L Hollis advised that he was disappointed with the effort even though the mare had raced wide early before obtaining the parked position approaching the 1600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
Race 5   TFS HORSE TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
ALWAYSBESECRET - was taken forward three wide near the 1200m to see if the parked position, which was being held by the over-racing HEAVEN HIGH, was available before being restrained back to trail that runner. Weakened rounding the final turn. When questioned Trainer/driver N Chilcott stated that ALWAYSBESECRET had not been suited to the moderate tempo being set so she elected to go forward to put some pace into the event however when it became apparent that HEAVEN HIGH had commenced to race fiercely she immediately desisted with the challenge. Ms Chilcott further advised that this midrace effort had taken its toll. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
HEAVEN HIGH - over-raced middle stages when outside the leader and in particular when ALWAYSBESECRET improved to its outside approaching the 1100m.
