| JIMMY CARTER - shifted inwards near the 1700m hampering ZOLTAN BOSCIK which lost ground. A protest was lodged against 1st placing being awarded to JIMMY CARTER (J Morrison) under Rule 869A(2) by driver L Whittaker (ZOLTAN BOSCIK) placed 2nd, alleging interference near the 1700m. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest. Driver J Morrison was warned regarding the manner in which he drove at this stage of the race and was advised that, in future, he should relieve pressure earlier than he did on this occasion. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful that Mr Morrison was initially entitled to ease ZOLTAN BOSCIK down the track however lost that opportunity shortly after when IT'S SO EASY improved to the inside of both runners. | |
