Race 1   MID-WINTER CHRISTMAS @ CR ALL JULY HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared at the first attempt due to the 30m barrier failing to release correctly.
IM A ROCKSTAR - lay in at various stages.
HOME GROWN GIRL - lay in approaching the 1800m losing ground.
WISH FOR FISH - broke briefly passing the 500m after contacting the back of the sulky of BOSS JO. Stewards attributed no blame to Driver T Hanara.
SAXON REIGNS - broke near the 750m losing its chance and was retired from the event.
CHESINOV - lost ground middle stages. Broke near the 600m when trailing the field.
HELSINGOR - weakened final turn.
HIGH NOON - trotted roughly shortly after the start then broke losing all chance.
Race 2   FRI STK NITE AT THE CLUBHOUSE AMATEUR CHAMPS HT 1 MOB PACE
DESERT DAWN - held up early final turn.
MR WONDERFUL - weakened in the run home.
KAWACTUS - weakened in the run home.
MARIA KIRILENKO - sulky was contacted near the 100m when weakening.
MIDFREW LUCRE - over-raced middle stages. Raced wide from the 650m. Driver F Phelan was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
DELIGHTFUL CHIC - contacted the sulky of MARIA KIRILENKO near the 100m when shifting ground in search of clear running. Driver C Negus was warned to exercise greater care given similar circumstances in the future.
LUKAKU - held up early final turn.
Race 3   GAVELHOUSE.COM MOBILE TROT
TRIFOLIUM - broke near the 300m losing its chance.
ELIZABETH HILL - pre-race warmed. Broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
REWIRI HILL - broke at the start and galloped for a considerable distance losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
SHESGOLD - when questioned regarding the performance Driver C Hackett advised that the mare had over-raced middle stages when outside the leader which had taken its toll.
Race 4   FERGUSON RACING THANKS OWNERS & CLIENTS MOBILE PACE
EYELINER - lay in rounding the turns. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver A Poutama stated that he was satisfied with the effort in what was the mare's first race back from a spell and expected that she would derive benefit from the run.
STAR OF AUCKLAND - commenced to weaken near the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the mare's racing performance.
ABITIBI - broke in the score up and was back from position at dispatch. Stood down to trial from a mobile to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. Broke passing the 700m losing its chance.
ALWAYS B AN ANGEL - raced wide early
MASIE FLAK - held up early in the run home and then raced in restricted room over the final 100m.
Race 5   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS HANDICAP TROT
RUN FOREST RUN - over-raced middle stages when outside the leader. Broke passing the 100m losing its chance.
TRIPPY TYRON - Trainer S Dickson was warned for the late driver notification of Z Butcher. Broke rounding the first turn losing ground before settling.
MAKAKU - broke near the 1800m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
VERONICA JANE - Driver J Robinson was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Race 6   MVS EQUINE HOSPITAL MOBILE PACE
LEWEY MAGUIRE - lay in rounding the final turn.
GOTTA GO MIKI - slow to score up before being placed in restricted room when the outside runner lay in and was back from position at dispatch. Starter D Blakemore advised Stewards that he had called to Driver L Hollis late in the score up with Mr Hollis indicating that he was receiving sufficient room to be in position. After considering the matter Stewards took no further action other than to note the circumstances.
IT'S NAE OR NEVER - lay in late in the score up placing an inside runner in restricted room.
SHOWTYM GIRL - over-raced before being steadied off the back of IT'S NAE OR NEVER near the 1050m. Junior Driver L Hibell, assisted by N Chilcott, was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner in which she drove in this incident. In considering this matter Stewards took into account that Ms Hibell had encountered difficulty when activating the hopple shorteners and also the manner in which the mare had been carrying her tail after having broken the tail tie when kicking out in the preliminary which had placed her at a disadvantage.
MEDINA MAGIC - Driver J Dunn reported that the removable deafeners failed to activate despite his efforts.
Race 7   HIDDEN LAKE HOTEL AND APARTMENTS MOBILE PACE
STELLA MARIS - unsuccessfully contested the early lead the was obliged to race outside the leader for the majority of the event.
OHOKA ACHILLES - Driver O Gillies was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver O Gillies advised that the gelding wasn't suited to the tempo of the race.
