| CAPTAIN CHRISTINA - hung inwards as the start was effected. Lay outwards racing into the first bend and broke when HAVTIMETODREAM crossed to the trailing position, hampering trailing runners losing considerable ground. Stewards spoke with drivers M Williamson and P Hunter (HAVTIMETODREAM) regarding this and after hearing from both drivers a warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. | |

Hampered by a weakening runner in the early and middle stages of the run home placing driver C Dalgety in some difficulty, resulting in the gelding striking the sulky wheel of FOREVER ARDEN. Stewards questioned junior driver C Dalgety regarding the tactics he adopted during the race, particularly near the 600m, when he allowed his runner to be covered by the sharply improving JENNY GUMP. Mr Dalgety explained that the mare was hanging on the right rein and that he was reluctant to shift three wide at that stage of the race, given the distance remaining to the winning post. Stewards noted Mr Dalgety's explanation and took into account the manner the runner had been driven at its most recent start. | |
