Race 1   NIGHT 'N DAY WINTON/TRANSPORT SERVICES LTD (TSL) MOBILE PACE
CONQUER ROCK - co-trainers M & D Shirley were warned for late notification the mare would race with removable deafeners.
HOKONUI JOEL - broke shortly after the start when racing greenly and placed in restricted room losing ground. Stewards spoke with drivers B Williamson (HOKONUI JOEL), K Green (HEIDSIECK) and C Ferguson (BELUGA) regarding this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing the evidence it was established that HEIDSIECK had lay in marginally racing into the first bend when HOKONUI JOEL was racing greenly to its inside. After considering the evidence Stewards were unable to apportion blame to anyone horse or driver and accordingly deemed this to be a racing incident. Lay out rounding the final bend and throughout the run home.
ARISTA - trainer D Keast was warned for presenting the gelding without the notified removable deafeners.
BETTER KAST - raced greenly at stages throughout.
Race 2   STEARNE ROOFING/KANE THOMAS LAWNS/TODD REALTY MOB PACE
CLAASEE - raced wide early until reaching the parked position near the 1400m. Paced roughly in the run home and broke over the concluding stages.
ASK ME LOU - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend then weakened.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - raced wide with cover from 950m.
HAROLD HANOVER - raced wide early. Paced roughly and lay in passing the 1200m. Weakened leaving the final bend.
GLENKENICK - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Hurrell. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
MONTAGE - raced three wide without cover until reaching the parked position near the 900m.
HALEY ROBYN - lay out when weakening rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
TASHS BAD GIRL - raced wide with cover from the 800m.
BOMBAY GLACIER - raced wide from 1050m. Cleared from the Unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 3   TUI BASE CAMP / BAY ROAD SERVICE CENTRE MOBILE PACE
ROSA PARKS - weakened final bend. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
ABULL - driver R McIlwrick reported he had not released the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
SHERGAR - weakened final bend. When asked to comment on the performance driver B Orange advised he was disappointed and could offer no explanation.
MOON LIGHT TERROR - raced three wide until reaching the parked position passing the 900m. Weakened final bend.
Race 4   CARRIER ARMS HOTEL & OLE CODGERS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
OHOKA DIVA - weakened from the 800m.
SHOWCASE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts. The near side number came adrift when in a break.
EVIE ROYALE - weakened rounding the final bend.
BOBBIE'S MAJORETTE - weakened from the 800m.
CONQUER CAPTAIN - weakened rounding the final bend.
SWEET DJ - raced three wide without cover in the early stages until reaching the parked position passing the 1100m. Observed to be showing signs of leg soreness on return to the stabling area. A post-race Veterinary examination at the request of connections confirmed the mare to be lame. Stood down pending a Veterinary Clearance prior to resuming.
Race 5   KINGS MECHANICAL LTD / SOUTHLAND FORKLIFT HIRE MOBILE PACE
RYLAN CHARLIE - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
BETTING SENSATION - raced three wide with cover from the 1200m.
MR CASH MAN - raced three wide without cover from the 1200m.
BOBBIES ROCK - weakened rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
Following the running of this race the track conditions were upgraded to Good.
Race 6   RTC LIFE MEMBERS / BILL KEAST MEMORIAL GOLD CHIP HCP TROT
ROYAL AHEARN - broke after 100m losing ground.
THE MERC - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
THE GREEK FREAK - broke after 150m losing ground. Trotted roughly rounding the first bend. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards had reviewed the footage and were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
ERAGON - broke after 100m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
KENNY'S MATE - fractious prior to the start and refused to turn into line. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Sent to the outside Unruly position by the Starter. Broke passing the 1600m losing ground.
CLOTILDE WAINWRIGHT - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Broke again in the run home losing all chance.
HARRIET'S MOMENT - shifted away from its 20m barrier position and was some distance out of its Unruly position when the tapes were released. Declared a non-runner by Stewards acting under Rule 213(1)(e) due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 7   OREPUKI TAVERN / FIORDLAND JET MOBILE PACE
ITSALLABOUTTHEMONEY - trainer L Bond was warned for presenting the mare without the notified blinds.
CALIFORNIA DREAMING - broke passing the 1300m when racing to the inside of THE REAL CRUNCH which shifted ground inwards hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Driver R Austin admitted a subsequent charge under Rule 869(4) in that he failed to concede his position resulting in his own horse breaking. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Austin's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 18 May 2025 (2 days).
TUA LIPA - driver E Barron reported that only one removable deafener had released.
FOREVER ARDEN - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend losing ground. Cleared from the Unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 8   AYTO'S DAIRY / RIVERTON WATERFRONT CAFE HANDICAP TROT
OUR SUPERFUND - lay in rounding the final bend.
DOWNTOWN ORLANDO - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
ABADABADO - weakened over the concluding stages.
MAKAKU - broke after 150m losing considerable ground.
