Race 8 - TRANSPORT SERVICES LTD MOBILE PACE
Driver B Orange (ON THE WING) defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly when shifting ground inwards racing into the first bend when not clear, resulting in his sulky wheel contacting the leg of ALWAYS B ELVIS with his sulky tyre deflating and coming off the rim. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee found the case not to be proven and dismissed the charge.

Race 1   WAIMATE STORAGE PASSING LANE TROT
JUST CHARLIE - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 500m.
MADAM PATSY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1700m. Came together with HARRIET'S MOMENT late in the run home when both runners shifted ground.
BIG AL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1700m.
PHANTOM SPUR - slow away. Raced wide from the 900m. Stewards opened an inquiry in to the manner driver L Dobbs used his whip in the run home with the matter adjourned due to Mr Dobbs having left the course.
LOTTIE'S MOMENT - broke shortly after racing over the crossing near the 1700m hampering trailing runners, losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
ERAGON - fractious prior to the start. Slow over the early stages and broke briefly when negotiating the crossing near the 1700m and blundered, hampering a trailing runner. Weakened from the 500m.
STAR INVASION - over-raced middle stages. Held up early stages of the run home and trotted roughly for a distance passing the 200m.
HARRIET'S MOMENT - fractious prior to the start with the removable deafeners unable to be fitted in consequence. Broke after 100m losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1700m. Hung outwards near the 1250m and raced wider on the track which allowed an inside runner to shift out and take up the vacant position in the two out running line. Hung inwards throughout the run home and came together with MADAM PATSY over the concluding stages when both runners shifted ground. The blinds shifted during the running. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards had reviewed the footage and were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break in the early stages.
Race 2   WELL, DONE TO TEAM TEAL MOBILE PACE
ROCKOUTRAY - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hung outwards rounding the final bend. Held up early stages of the run home.
BALTIC STAR - raced wide from the 1200m. Weakened final bend.
Race 3   ROYAL TAVERN LIQUOR CENTRE PACE
THE TOWN OF LIGHT - reared shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BAUTISTA - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the run home. Driver R May reported he did not release the removable deafeners in consequence.
MANDALA - broke at the start losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had reviewed the footage and were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
GAMELY - lay out rounding the final bend and early stages of the run home despite the efforts of driver S Tomlinson.
MICK ALMIGHTY - lay inwards in the run home.
SWEET BETTY - broke at the start losing ground. Stood down to trial on one occasion from a standing start to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
MAGICAL MAX - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.

CHAL VEE POWER - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
HALEY ROBYN - raced wide early. When asked to comment on the performance driver C Williamson advised that racing wide early had taken its toll on the mare over the concluding stages.
RAZORS EDGE - lay out near the 200m despite the efforts of driver K Tomlinson, hampering an outside runner.
SAMVASA - over-raced early stages. Hampered near the 200m when an inside runner lay out.
HEY TONIGHT - over-raced middle stages. Held up middle stages of the run home.

MOA MOJITO - pre-race warmed. Broke near the 400m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
SWITCH ON - trainer M Jones was issued with a warning after presenting the gelding with the incorrect number. Broke at the start losing all chance.
RAKERO ACE - broke near the 1700m losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 450m.
NOAH MAGNIFIC - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again leaving the crossing near the 1700m losing ground.
RACEY KRUSA - hampered at the start when runners either side broke.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again near the 500m losing all chance.

MAJESDIX - held up early stages of the run home. Cleared from the Unruly for future standing starts. Driver C Williamson was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
OUR EVIE RAE - lay inwards rounding the final bend. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages. Driver R May reported he did not release the removable deafeners in consequence.

BUCKSKIN - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered momentarily near the 400m when an inside runner lay out.
FITZTHEBILL - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
GOT YOU COVERED - hampered by a weakening runner final bend. When asked to comment on the performance driver M Williamson advised he was disappointed with the gelding's effort and could offer no explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days regarding the recovery of the horse.
WOODBINE ROCKS - began awkwardly. Raced wide early stages.
HACKSAW RIDGE - began awkwardly.
TEMPO WARRIOR - hampered near the 400m when an inside runner lay out.
SINAI SERMON - held up early stages of the run home.
RADHA - hampered by a weakening runner final bend and lay outwards, hampering outside runners near the 400m.
KOURTNEY KARDASH - placed in restricted room having to be steadied momentarily near the 400m. When asked to comment on the performance trainer/driver B Butt advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation other than the mare may not have been suited by today's track conditions.
WINNYZBACK - hampered by a weakening runner near the 350m.
SPIRIT OF ANARCHY - late scratching at 10.25am due to the prevailing track conditions.
DANCE TILL DAWN - broke at the start losing ground. Raced wide for a distance from the 2000m until reaching the lead near the 900m. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
BRYCE'S MEDDLE - raced wide for a distance from the 2000m until reaching the parked position near the 850m. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
Race 9   MULTIAG MOBILE PACE
APATCHOFGOLD - over-raced early stages.
MACK PACK - over-raced early stages.
WAVEWATCHER - the required veterinary clearance was received.

KOWHAI NUGGET - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.

Race 10   INTERPAINT FILLIES & MARES HANDICAP TROT
A false start was declared when HOLLY HIGHLANDER was fractious and breached the front line barrier strand despite the efforts of driver S Thornley. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Mr Thornley elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.
PRACTICAL MAGIC - broke at the start losing all chance.
WHO'S QUEEN - pre-race warmed.
HIGH STEP - raced inside the final track marker. Driver B Butt was issued with a warning.
STYRAX - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
AROHA KENNY - lay inwards near the 120m becoming awkwardly placed and contacted the wheel of VERTIGO which was shifting ground outwards at this point. Notwithstanding this driver L McCormick (VERTIGO) was warned to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
Race 11   THANK YOU OAMARU RACECOURSE MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when A BETTER JACKALACK broke in the score up, veered inwards and made contact with the running rail which broke requiring some remedial work. A BETTER JACKALACK was cleared to start after the veterinarian had viewed the gelding. Sent to the Unruly position by the Starter where the gelding will remain for future mobile starts.

TWO TICKS - late scratching at 8.25pm 22 March due to being sold.
BREENY'S CONQUEROR - paced roughly near the 350m after being shifted wider on the track when weakening.
