Race 1   GAVELHOUSE HANDICAP TROT
TOP OF THE HILL - broke briefly at the start.
AH DINNAE KEN - tangled away.
Race 2   WOODLANDS STUD ALL STAR FIVE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
LOTTIE'S LUCK - lay out in the score up.
RAGING NATIVE - lay in under pressure final bend and contacted a track marker.
Race 3   MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
COLD PURSUIT - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
PHILADELPHIA LAD - over-raced in the early stages.
CRUISING FONTANA - driver A Milne was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 after using his whip with a foot out of the sulky footrest.
DALLAS DALE - trainer K Green was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 after presenting the gelding without the notified blinds. Paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
TOPOFTHECLASS - weakened final bend. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover.
Race 4   BAYNES FAMILY HANDICAP TROT
MC SQUARED - over-raced through the middle stages.
OUR PINOCCHIO - slow in the early stages.
HIDDEN TALENT - when asked to comment on the performance of the favoured runner driver O Kite advised he was disappointed and could offer no explanation. Trainer N Williamson reported he will have blood tests conducted on the mare in the coming days and undertook to advise Stewards of the results.
Race 5   PHOEBE STUD "GRASS ROOTS BREEDING" MOBILE PACE
RISE UP N DANCE - raced greenly when leading through the middle stages. Driver O Kite reported that only one hopple shortener had released.
TUA LIPA - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
BISMARCK DU PLESSIS - required assistance from an attendant when at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
HOT FIZZ - fractious prior to the start and reared getting the sulky shaft over its back, tipping the sulky and dislodging driver M Hill. Neither horse nor driver were injured in this incident. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Tailed the field throughout for a distance in the early to middle stages, before breaking passing the 1000m, running off the track and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 6   HOWL AT THE MOON / THOMAS GREEN MOBILE PACE
FIREFOREFIDDLE - hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Held up middle stages of the run home.
I'M WATCHING YOU - weakened from the 1200m hampering a trailing runner and was retired from the event by driver D Anderson. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG before completing one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
VAN LIBERTY - raced wide early.
CONNIE JACCKA - raced wide early. Over-raced through the middle stages. When asked to comment on the performance driver B Barclay advised the mare had over-raced at stages throughout and this had taken its toll.
ARTMORE - when asked to comment on the performance driver M Williamson advised he had found it difficult to get into the race from the wide draw however notwithstanding that he was still disappointed with the effort.
SHEZZA VINNY - driver K Tomlinson reported she was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
WARRIOR EASTON - raced wide through the middle stages and then over-raced in the parked position. Weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner. When asked to comment on the performance driver N Williamson advised that the gelding had been striking the wheel discs on the bends causing it to over-race which had taken its toll.
AMERICAN MAC - slow to leave the pre-race formation. Hampered by weakening runner near the 1200m.
Race 7   GWD MOTOR GROUP / TYRELAND GORE MOBILE PACE
JENNY GUMP - over-raced in the score up. Over-raced again through the middle stages. Driver K Tomlinson advised that she was unable to activate the sliding blinds, due to the cord breaking. The gear was inspected and found to be in a previous good condition.
BOBBIES ROCK - over-raced leaving the final bend proving difficult for driver K Green and contacted the sulky wheel of ROBYNS PLAYBOY near the 250m. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
ROBYNS PLAYBOY - when asked to comment on the performance of the favoured runner driver M Hill advised that once obtaining the lead the gelding had raced keenly for a distance and weakened over the concluding stages, adding he was disappointed with the effort. Mr Hill reported he had sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 250m.
HERB - broke rounding the first bend when challenging for the lead losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver R McIlwrick reported the gelding had been striking the wheel discs causing it to break.
