Race 1   SG STUD HANDICAP TROT
SO MYSTIFYING - slow to begin.
SKEE PRINCESS - weakened in the run home.
HENRIK LUNDQVIST - raced clear in the lead during the middle stages.
CHESINOV - trotted roughly over the early stages losing considerable ground. Broke passing the 1700m when trailing the field losing all chance.
WISH FOR FISH - broke near the 150m losing its chance. Driver T Hanara reported that the gelding had cast its off fore shoe down the back straight the final time.
PRESIDENT FLYNNTIN - slow to begin. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Driver K Coppins reported that she didn't activate the removable deafeners due to being out of contention.
TEQUILA SUNRISE - late scratching at 9.10am on veterinary advice.
Race 2   DIAMOND RACING STABLES MOBILE PACE
EXHILARATE - weakened in the run home.
COMMANDER LINCOLN - paced roughly near the 200m when being shifted wider by an insider runner hampering trailing runners.
CHEER ME ON - Driver Z Meredith, who elected not to have the assistance of a Senior driver, admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Reins Regulation in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion near the 200m. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Meredith's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 16 August up to and including 27 August 2024 (3 days).
BENJAMIN BUTTON - hampered and paced roughly passing the 200m after contacting the sulky wheel of SHE'S APPLES.
BROOKSIDE GIRL - raced wide early before crossing to the parked position near the 1500m. Stewards questioned Junior Drivers M Ranger (BROOKSIDE GIRL), assisted by S Butcher, and F Schumacher (COMMANDER LINCOLN), who elected not to have the assistance of a Senior driver, regarding an incident near the 200m when COMMANDER LINCOLN paced roughly when being shifted wider by BROOKSIDE GIRL. It was established that COMMANDER LINCOLN had been slow to react to Mr Schumacher's efforts to accommodate the shift which was carried out in an acceptable manner and no further action was deemed necessary.
ALWAYS B STUNNING - back from position at dispatch despite the efforts of Driver W House. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
POTTER - held up throughout the run home.
SHE'S APPLES - hampered passing the 200m and received a punctured sulky tyre when contacted by a trailing runner.
Race 3   KELATO ANIMAL HEALTH - SUPPORTS RACING MOBILE PACE
PAPENHUYZEN - over-raced middle stages.
ANN FRANK - paced roughly for several strides entering the first turn when being steadied to take a trail.
IM NOT THE MAID - raced wide early.
Race 4   HARCOURTS TE AWAMUTU MOBILE PACE
MYDADTHETERROR - raced over several track markers rounding the first turn after having improved to the inside of OUR BENSON, which had shown gate speed to lead but had not shifted down fully to the marker line. Junior Driver M Ranger, assisted by S Butcher, was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly regarding the manner in which she drove in this incident. Stewards noted that there were several ducks on the track near the marker line at this stage of the race, however were satisfied that this had no bearing on the incident. Lay in and contacted track markers near the 200m. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
BET ON STEPH - weakened leaving the final turn.
LUKA DONCIC - over-raced middle stages when outside the leader.
SISTER LOVE - broke shortly after the start checking a trailing runner with the near hind hopple loop breaking shortly after. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Broke entering the first turn when being eased and trailed the field throughout. The gear was inspected and found to be in satisfactory condition with Trainer A Poutama deemed not to be at fault.
SUNSHINE SHELBY - tended to shift out under pressure early in the run home.
Race 5   DRIVERS CANTEEN HANDICAP TROT
ORDAINED - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
MAJESTIC BUNDY - held up final turn. Broke passing the 200m losing its chance. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after showing symptoms of mild colic which was treated by the Veterinarian.
SWEET OLIVIA - broke near the 2300m hampering trailing runners losing considerable ground before settling. Lay in near the 900m contacting track markers and trotted roughly losing ground. Lay in rounding the final turn contacting further track markers before breaking losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
SLAINTE - received a punctured sulky tyre after being contacted by SWEET OLIVIA when shifting outwards entering the first turn. Stewards could not attribute blame solely to either driver and took the matter no further. Broke near the 1800m losing ground before settling.
MR MUSCLE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
MAJESTIC RUBY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2300m. Shifted out over the final stages. Driver Z Butcher was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straighter course in the run home in future. Mr Butcher reported that he hadn't activated the deafeners due to having the field covered.
BOSS KENNY - trotted roughly rounding the first turn losing ground.
MAZEPPA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2300m.
Race 6   BK ELLIS RACING STABLES OWNERS LOVE RACING MOBILE PACE
RED RACKHAM - lay in and contacted track markers rounding the final turn. Shifted out on straightening for the run home but was corrected by Driver Z Meredith.
LOOKATME CHRISTY - late scratching at 9.10am on veterinary advice.
FIELD CADET - paced roughly at various stages.
ARMED JAFFA - when questioned regarding the performance Driver D Ferguson stated that he wasn't disappointed given that the gelding was still learning in what was only its second race start.
