Driver B Orange (CLOVELLY HILL) defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when shifting inwards near the 900m checking SCHOEMAKER (J Smith) which broke and lost ground. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.

WOODLEA DIAMOND - lay outwards leaving the final bend and in the run home.
WATERHOLES ROAD - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer B Negus advised the gelding had benefited from being freshened and had received an economical run.
GIVE ME PEACE - trainer M Purvis was issued a warning for presenting the filly to race with blinds which had not been notified. Paced roughly rounding the first bend losing ground. Continued to pace roughly at various stages losing all chance. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the filly had been striking a knee. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the horse.

PENNY WEIGHT - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.

OFF THE EDGE - broke at the start losing ground.
EBURY STREET - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
ITSAMONEYMAKER - briefly held up early in the run home.
MOSSDALE MARGARET - lay inwards near the 2100m striking track markers. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Again lay in leaving the final bend striking track markers before weakening. When questioned regarding the performance the connections advised they were disappointed and will have blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
TEN DA TOUCH - paced roughly rounding the final bend. Junior driver H Orange was spoken to advisedly for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful of Mr Orange's lack of race day experience.
ARCHIE - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.

MILOU - struck the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Driver K Cameron was issued a warning.
LIZZIE RICHTER - late scratching at 11.50am on Veterinary advice.
POETRY IN MOTION - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home. Driver H Orange advised he did not activate the sliding blinds in consequence.
LILAC LUXURY - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home. Driver M Williamson advised he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
ICEE STYXIE - when questioned regarding the performance driver S Thornley advised the mare had raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination revealed a slow recovery and inflammation of the airway which will be treated.
COURTNEY ROSE - paced roughly in the score up.

NATIVES INFERNO - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
SPECIAL EFFECTS - broke shortly after the start and settled before breaking again after 100m losing all chance.
BULLIT TRAIN - pre-race warmed. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised she was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation.
LIVING THE MOMENT - broke after 100m losing all chance.
CROWN THE MOMENT - slow to begin.
BRIANNA - over-raced middle stages. Weakened passing the 600m.
RACHMANINOV - weakened final bend.
BOYZ INVASION - over-raced middle stages.
