Connections advised Stewards on 31 July THE HIGHWAYMAN has recovered well after its last start and has been sent for a spell.

Connections advised Stewards on 1 August blood tests taken from JUSTCALLMEMIKI following its last start revealed the gelding to be suffering from a virus which is being treated.

ZSAZSA BINX - connections advised Stewards the mare has had its hocks treated since last racing.
MONARO MEG - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m.
SOLEMN SON - hung inwards near the 1100m striking track markers. Again hung inwards near the 900m striking track markers before being crowded by an outside runner losing ground.
PENELOPE HALL - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m.
SCHOEMAKER - checked and broke near the 900m losing ground.
NATIVES BLAZIN SON - weakened final bend.
MEGABAND - raced wide early. Broke near the 1500m losing all chance.
KISS ME KATE - raced wide early. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
CLOVELLY HILL - raced wide early and middle stages. Shifted inwards near the 900m when insufficiently clear of SCHOEMAKER which was checked and broke losing ground. After questioning drivers J Smith (SCHOEMAKER) and B Orange (CLOVELLY HILL) and hearing their explanations, Stewards issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging Mr Orange had driven carelessly in this incident. Mr Orange advised he would be defending the charge with the hearing being opened and adjourned until the NZ Metropolitan TC meeting on 4 August 2024.
Race 2   CONCRETE BROTHERS TROT
AROHA - trainer B Butt was issued a warning for being late to notify the mare would be racing with half hopples. Broke after 100m losing ground. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
JACKS MATE - the required veterinary clearance was received. Broke after 150m losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly from the 700m before weakening from the 600m.
MEANDAD - over-raced middle stages.
KNOWING ME - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened from the 600m.
ROYAL GRACE - raced wide from the 700m. Broke late in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance the connections advised they were disappointed and would give consideration to sending the mare for a spell.
PLAYOFFS - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Broke again rounding the first bend losing all chance.
Race 3   SWEET LOU THE MOST POPULAR SIRE OF 2023 MOBILE PACE
RUBY TUESDAY - hung inwards in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
ADORED DREAMER - driver T Williams advised the filly had been striking its sulky wheels during the running.
SWEET MIKI - weakened passing the 500m.
Race 4   FAHEY FENCE HIRE TROT
BULLIT TRAIN - pre-race warmed. Hampered by a breaking runner after 200m.
EDWARD LONGSHANKS - tangled away.
ROYAL YANKEE - hampered by a breaking runner after 200m. Lay inwards final bend striking a track marker.
KRACKA LOOKA - broke rounding the first bend losing ground.
OLIVER - broke after 200m and continued in a break for a considerable distance hampering trailing runners and losing ground. Trotted roughly in the run home.
WUDABUBBIT - pre-race warmed. Over-raced and then broke near the 900m losing ground. Broke again near the 300m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
IMPERIAL COMMAND - raced wide early.
Race 5   HYDROFLOW MOBILE PACE
THE BETTOR DEAL - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver D Dolan. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SALUTE - over-raced middle stages causing driver R May some difficulty. Hung inwards throughout the run home.
BELMONT VALOR - weakened final bend.
Race 6   GARRARDS MOBILE TROT
KINK - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SUNNY LOUIS - broke as the start was effected losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the horse.
RUAKAKA - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be driven out.
BONNIE BAGRIE - over-raced early and middle stages.
Race 7   CUP WEEK PACKAGES ON SALE NOW MOBILE PACE
BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
HE'S TOUGH - briefly placed in restricted room racing into the first bend.
LONE WOLF - raced wide early. Paced roughly passing the 900m losing ground.
RAGAZZO MAJOR - driver B Butt was warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground and briefly placing an inside runner in restricted room racing into the first bend.
TEMPO WARRIOR - raced wide early and without cover from the 1000m.
BRYCE'S MEDDLE - held up early in the run home.
Race 8   CONTINENTAL EVENT HIRE MOBILE TROT
TO HILL AND BACK - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened near the 800m.
GINAS MAJESTY - driver K Cameron was issued a warning to exercise greater care when shifting ground shortly after the start crowding an inside runner.
KD ROYALTY - broke near the 250m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - held up final bend.
ONE EL - crowded shortly after the start by an outside runner having to be restrained.
PARIS PRINCE - broke late in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
HERE COMES JANE - raced wide early and middle stages.
Race 9   KB ELECTRICS PACE
FRANCO ELVIS - driver C Thornley was warned to exercise greater care when shifting outwards leaving the final bend and crowding an outside runner which struck the sulky wheel of the gelding. In taking this course of action Stewards were satisfied there had been no consequential effects.
HEAVEN - hung inwards final bend crowding an inside runner.
SPECTATOR - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
GREETS - lay inwards and crowded by an outside runner rounding the final bend when weakening striking several track markers.
MOOSE MOROWSKI - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised the gelding had hung badly throughout causing him difficulty.
MOONLITE BLOOD - hung inwards rounding the final bend.
SWEET TRIXIE - broke at the start losing ground.
MAGICAL MAX - weakened from the 600m.
Race 10   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
JACCKA OPA - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
BRYSON DECHAMBEAU - co-trainers C & C Dalgety were issued a warning for being late to notify the gelding would be racing without the notified blinds. When questioned regarding the performance co-trainer C Dalgety advised the gelding was racing up in grade in its first start back after a spell and had peaked on its run. Mr Dalgety added he expected the horse would derive considerable benefit from tonight's race.
