Race 1   "$100,000 BREEDERS BONUS, BOOK KING OF THE NORTH" HCP TROT
ORDAINED - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
KISS MY PIXEL - hung inwards racing into the first turn contacting a track marker which was dislodged. Continued to lay in dislodging a further track marker near the 950m. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
SLAINTE - lay in and broke near the 1750m hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Continued to lay in and broke briefly near the 1300m and then again approaching the 800m losing further ground. Lay inwards and contacted track markers rounding the turns. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Trainer G Martin advised that he would be restricting both stable runners to left handed racing for the immediate future.
BERTHA'S PRIDE - late scratching at 9.30am on veterinary advice.
GAZ MAN - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
BREAK FREE - hampered near the 1750m and broke losing ground before trotting roughly.
THAT'S WHAT WE DO - hampered and broke near the 1300m checking a trailing runner losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 400m losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off front which required treatment.
MONARCH HILL - checked and broke near the 1300m losing all chance.
Race 2   NEVELE R STUD - STALLION EXPO @ KARAKA 27 JULY MOB PACE
BAZOOKA - lay inwards rounding the turn near the 1300m contacting several track markers.
RED RACKHAM - over-raced middle stages.
SHONTELLE - lay inwards rounding the final turn contacting several track markers.
I CAN TOO - raced wide early.
CARBON - lay inwards racing into the first turn contacting several track markers. Over-raced middle stages. Contacted several track markers rounding the final turn when laying inwards.
LATEFORDINNER - held up early in the run home.
UPSTAGE - raced wide early after having improved to the outside of HAROLD HANOVER which had shifted out marginally. It was established that HAROLD HANOVER had not moved fully down to the marker line in this incident before being corrected to maintain a position in the running line. Given the circumstances Stewards took the matter no further. Weakened final turn.
SCOTT - broke near the 1850m when racing to the inside of SHONTELLE losing ground. Stewards questioned Drivers D Ferguson (SCOTT) and W Fausett (SHONTELLE) regarding this incident where it was established that SCOTT had hung inwards causing Mr Ferguson some difficulty and had broken free of interference. Accordingly no further action was deemed necessary.
Race 3   HARAS DES TROTTEURS -STALLION EXPO 27 JULY HANDICAP TROT
SANTAPAZIENZA - began awkwardly briefly crowding an outside runner.
ITMUSCLEBELOVE - briefly crowded at the start. Broke racing into the first turn losing ground. Broke again near the 800m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
BOSS JO - hampered briefly after the start.
PLAY FAST AND LOOSE - broke racing into the first turn losing all chance.
LOTERIA - paced after 100m having to be broken up by its driver losing considerable ground. When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Dickie stated that after this runner had mixed its gait early he had been left to race in the parked position and was required to lead the running line forward through the middle stages after being unable to obtain cover. Mr Dickie added that considering this he was not disappointed with the performance of the filly.
KAWARAU LIL - broke racing into the first turn losing ground. Lay inwards rounding the turn near the 1100m contacting several track markers.
BOLT FOR THE HILL - required the assistance of a starting attendant in the pre-race formation. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Broke at the start losing ground.
TEQUILA SUNRISE - lay in contacting track markers near the 1300m. Weakened from the 600m. Lay inwards contacting several track markers rounding the final turn. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners
LIL WHIP - broke rounding the first turn losing all chance. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming.
Race 4   BLACKMORE VIRTUE & OWENS ACCOUNTANT FLYERS MOBILE PACE
OBADIAH DRAGON - contacted the sulky wheel of KATIES PRINCESS rounding the first turn after becoming awkwardly placed when SLOTS improved to its inside. Stewards were satisfied that Driver M Ranger was not at fault and took the matter no further.
KATIES PRINCESS - Driver N Chilcott reported that she sustained a punctured sulky tyre rounding the first turn when contacted by a trailing runner. Sulky contacted by an outside runner early in the run home.
IT'S NAE OR NEVER - raced wide without cover throughout. Weakened leaving the final turn and hung inwards striking the sulky of KATIES PRINCESS before hampering a trailing runner.
SHAKE A LEG - raced wide with cover throughout.
SUGAR RAY LINCOLN - raced wide with cover from the 1200m. Driver M McKendry reported that he was unable to activate the deafeners due to the cord breaking.
DEAR GOD - lay inwards final turn contacting a track marker.
SLOTS - became awkwardly placed between OBADIAH DRAGON and DEAR GOD racing into the first turn. Junior Driver K Denifostova (assisted by J Dickie) was issued with a warning for attempting to improve her position when insufficient room existed. Over-raced middle stages. Hampered passing the 150m by an inside runner.
Race 5   WOODLANDS STUD - WINTER REWARDS FINAL HANDICAP TROT
JASINOVA - refused to take up its position on the front line requiring assistance from a starting attendant causing a delay. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first turn.
TAYLAD TO USE - broke racing into the first turn hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Broke again passing the 1400m losing further ground and trailed the field.
ILSAS SON - knuckled over near the 50m.
KIMKAR DASH - pre-race warmed. Trotted roughly during the early stages losing ground. Lay outwards in the run home.
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - broke shortly after the start before switching to a pace having to be broken up by its driver losing all chance.
SHEZ BELLA - raced wide early when towards the rear. Raced without cover from the 1200m. Weakened late in the run home. When questioned Driver Z Butcher could offer no explanation for what he considered to be a disappointing run.
KISS AND RUN - held up final turn and early in the run home.
Race 6   SOUTHERN CROSS PARTNERS WINTER REWARDS FINAL MOBILE PACE
GLADYS GREENLAND - held up for clear racing room early in the run home.
C U THERE - Trainer D Balle was issued with a warning for presenting the gelding without the correct saddlecloth number.
SEACLUSION - lay inwards rounding the final turn contacting a track marker.
FIFTH AND FINAL - raced wide early. Commenced to over-race before improving forward three wide near the 1550m.
ALWAYS B STUNNING - raced in restricted room early in the run home when disappointed for a run in the passing lane and raced inside several track markers. Driver Z Butcher was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner in which he had driven in this incident.
JOES ROCK - raced wide early. Driver D Butcher is to be spoken to advisedly regarding the manner in which he shifted ground near the 1900m.
DOM TORETTO - forced down on to track markers and broke racing into the first turn losing ground. Raced in restricted room near the 1850m. Held up for clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver M White advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners as a result.
SUNSHINE SHELBY - placed in restricted room approaching the first turn. Over-raced near the 1500m and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of C U THERE having to be steadied.
BLAZING LOUIE - raced wide early. Driver A Poutama was issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) on the grounds that he drove carelessly approaching the first turn by allowing his gelding to shift inwards placing SUNSHINE SHELBY in restricted room resulting in DOM TORETTO being forced down on to track markers and breaking as a result. Mr Poutama indicated that he would be defending the charge with the matter being adjourned sine die by the Adjudicator.
MY COPY - placed in restricted room rounding the first turn when being shifted inwards by JOES ROCK after DOM TORETTO had recovered to improve to its inside with Driver M McKendry then restraining to concede the position.
Race 7   BORDER FENCING SERVICES WINTER REWARDS FINAL MOBILE PACE
MYDADTHETERROR - permission was granted for this runner to race with alternative colours. Lay inwards final turn contacting several track markers. Forced down on to a track marker near the 100m.
MESSENGER BUOY - held up throughout the run home.
PROVISEUR - pulled hard when being restrained early. Held up early in the run home.
MEDINA MAGIC - raced wide early. Weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate some time after the event. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
BROOKSIDE GIRL - lay inwards racing into the first turn contacting a track marker. Lay inwards rounding the final turn contacting further track markers.
KOURTNEY KARDASH - held up early in the run home. Driver M Ranger was warned for shifting inwards resulting in MYDADTHETERROR being forced down on to a track marker near the 100m.
RAKERO SCOTTY - weakened from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
Race 8   TACTICAL APPROACH @ ALABAR - WINTER REWARDS FINAL HCP TROT
SASSY STAR - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
ALDEBARAN PIPPI - slow early and then broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Weakened final turn.
FIVE O'CLOCK GERRY - removed from the unruly for future stands. When questioned Driver C Hackett could offer no explanation for the disappointing run. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL - lay in under pressure in the run home.
Race 9   DANCING ON MOONLIGHT - STALLION EXPO 27 JULY MOB PACE
TURN O THE TIDE - paced roughly shortly after the start and again entering the first turn.
DEBRIEF - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the colt's barrier manners.
RUNKLE CRUNCH - back marginally from position at the start. Paced roughly in the run home. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had maintained its correct gait at the winning post.
ALWAYS B MAGIC - held up for clear racing room until late in the run home.
