Pre race blood testing was carried out. Trainers were instructed to fit mudguards to their sulkies. A world wide IT outage impacted on the TAB's ability to pay out on winning investments from Race 2 onwards. Stewards extended some leniency when assessing horse penalties in Race 5 following the downgrade of the track to slushy. Stewards also spoke with various senior drivers after concern had been expressed regarding diminished visibility with the consensus being that safety had not been compromised to the extent that warranted discontinuing with the meeting. Discussion was also undertaken with the Track Manager resulting in no further dragging of the track for the remainder of the programme. |
