Pre race blood testing was carried out.

Trainers were instructed to fit mudguards to their sulkies.

A world wide IT outage impacted on the TAB's ability to pay out on winning investments from Race 2 onwards.

Stewards extended some leniency when assessing horse penalties in Race 5 following the downgrade of the track to slushy. Stewards also spoke with various senior drivers after concern had been expressed regarding diminished visibility with the consensus being that safety had not been compromised to the extent that warranted discontinuing with the meeting. Discussion was also undertaken with the Track Manager resulting in no further dragging of the track for the remainder of the programme.

Trainer L Chin advised Stewards on 19 July that VORONOV had recovered well following its disappointing run and would continue its preparation.

Trainer S Reid advised Stewards on 19 July that COASTAL BABE had recovered well and is being freshened prior to resuming its preparation.

SO MYSTIFYING - granted permission to have assistance from an attendant when parading prior to the start.
WIND OF CHANGE - broke near the 1800m losing considerable ground. Weakened final turn.
TWO FRANCS - granted permission to have assistance from an attendant when parading prior to the start. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
ARADNE - broke near the 200m losing its chance.
TEQUILA SUNRISE - trotted roughly at various stages and in particular rounding the final turn. Driver S Abernethy reported that he couldn't activate the deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL - raced wide early. Broke near the 1800m losing considerable ground. Weakened final turn.
Race 2   NORTH ISLAND STALLION EXPO-KARAKA JULY 27 MOBILE PACE
SEA OF LOVE - when questioned regarding the performance Driver T Macfarlane stated that he wasn't disappointed given that the mare worked hard early to find the lead.
TRUCKING ON - lay in and broke near the 1850m and was taken down inside the marker line to clear the trailing runners losing considerable ground. Continued to lay in rounding the turns losing contact with the body of the field near the 800m. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
SAYS WHO - late scratching at 8.30am due to an office error.
PENNYS FIRST FLIGHT - paced roughly for several strides approaching the 1800m when taking evasive action to avoid a breaking runner. Weakened final turn.
KOWALSKI - paced roughly near the 150m.
RAY SAUCE - granted permission to have assistance from an attendant when parading prior to the start. Broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Weakened final turn.
TRES BONNE FILLE - raced fiercely in the score up. Paced roughly approaching the first turn. Weakened in the run home.
Race 3   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION MOBILE PACE
IMA SPORTYANGEL - broke late in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners. Had to be steadied off the back of LOUIE V TONNE near the 1200m and contacted that runner's sulky wheel.
PROVISEUR - over-raced middle stages. Lay in and contacted track markers final turn.
CRISTIANO BUCCINI - driver Z Meredith reported that he had not activated the removable deafeners due to having the field covered. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance Trainer S Dickson reported that the gelding had been able to capitalise on a good barrier draw and set its own terms in the lead.
Race 4   WATCHU SECURITY MOBILE TROT
LUBY LILL - when questioned regarding the performance Driver T Cameron stated that working hard to obtain the lead in the middle stages had taken its toll. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
BARSUKOV - raced wide early before settling in midfield.
MR MUSCLE - trotted roughly for several strides near the winning post the first time hampering a trailing runner.
ORDAINED - incorrectly shown as a late scratching for several hours on the TAB website earlier in the day.
SONSOFTHEMERCH - broke near the 550m losing its chance. Broke again near the 150m when trailing the field. Trainer T Hall reported that the gelding had cast the near fore shoe during the running.
SLAINTE - hampered briefly near the winning post the first time. Raced wide early and middle stages before being eased to the rear near the 900m. Weakened near the 800m.
SASSY STAR - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
The track was downgraded to slushy following this event.
Race 5   HIDDEN LAKE HOTEL AND APARTMENTS MOBILE PACE.
CUPIDS ARROW - broke early in the score up but was in position prior to the candy pole.
SHE'S APPLES - hampered near the 1150m when there was an easing of the pace.
CATHY FREEMAN - raced wide early. Lay in near the 200m contacting a track marker.
TYSON - broke in the score up and was back from position at dispatch. Driver Z Butcher reported that the colt had taken fright when he had activated the deafeners. A final warning was placed on this runner's barrier manners. Broke entering the first turn when appearing to shy at the mobile losing ground before settling at the rear. A warning was placed on the colt's racing manners.
OCEAN BELLE - granted permission to have assistance from an attendant when parading prior to the start. Over-raced down the back straight the first time. Driver N Chilcott advised that she did not activate the removable deafeners due to being out of contention.
CARBON - contacted two track markers early in the run home when disappointed for a run in the passing lane.
PREDATOR - hampered near the 1150m when there was an easing of the pace. Broke near the 950m losing ground and settled at the rear.
Stewards spoke to Starter D Blakemore following the event in relation to a dislodged track marker on the home turn that had not been replaced prior to the start with the crash crew being reminded of their obligations.
Race 6   WOODLANDS STUD SUPPORTING OUR FUTURE MOBILE PACE
OUR BENSON - held up leaving the back straight the final time.
RAKERO SCOTTY - broke at the start checking a trailing runner and settled at the rear. Paced roughly rounding the final turn. Weakened in the run home. Placed on the unruly for future mobiles at the trainer's request.
MIDFREW LUCRE - raced wide early and middle stages before being restrained towards the rear.
SLOTS - raced wide early before being restrained towards the rear. The near hind bandage came adrift during the running. Stewards took no action given the prevailing track conditions.
IT'S NAE OR NEVER - over-raced middle stages. Held up briefly final turn. Driver N Chilcot reported that she did not activate the sliding blinds due to being out of contention.
CHANGE TACT - locked wheels briefly with an outside runner near the 600m. Commenced to weaken near the 550m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver A Poutama stated he was disappointed with the filly's effort and could offer no explanation. Stewards will follow up with Trainer S Reid in the coming days.
KINGS WATCH - locked wheels briefly with an inside runner near the 600m. Driver T Mitchell reported that a sulky tyre deflated during the middle stages.
MAJOR MAJOR - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start having to take evasive action and lost ground.
AUCTIONEER - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
Race 7   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
MEDINA MAGIC - the required veterinary clearance was received for this runner.
CLAUDE - Co-trainer A Neal advised Stewards leading into the meeting that the gelding had recovered from a virus following its disappointing run at its last start with the information being passed on to the commentator for public dissemination. Driver C Hackett reported that she didn't activate the deafeners due to having the field covered.
VICTOR BRAVO - Driver B Butcher reported that he didn't activate the deafeners due to being out of contention.
Race 8   GAVELHOUSE.COM MOBILE TROT
ULTIMATE MOMENT - broke at the start losing ground and settled at the rear. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
MAJESTIC RUBY - trotted roughly late in the run home. Authorisation of this runner's third placing was briefly withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the mare had maintained her gait over the final stages. Co-trainer P Blanchard reported that a sulky tyre deflated near the 1200m.
LOVE ON LINE - pre-race warmed.
MANCHESTER IN TIME - raced wide early before being restrained towards the rear.
REGAL GIRL - Junior Driver M Ranger, assisted by D Butcher, was warned for the manner in which she drove when contacting several track markers near the 200m before then racing over further track markers when moved inwards by JASINOVA which shifted down into the passing lane. In considering the matter Stewards were satisfied that no unfair advantage had been gained in this incident given that REGAL GIRL lost momentum and then had sufficient room to improve to the inside of JASINOVA approaching the 100m.
Race 9   HIRE A VENUE AT CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY MOBILE PACE
UNDER THE BOARDWALK - late scratching at 8.30am due to an office error.
GLADYS GREENLAND - sulky wheel contacted by a fallen runner early in the home straight.
WHOOSHKA - broke passing the 200m after locking wheels with an outside runner when being shifted wider on the track by GLADYS GREENLAND and fell with Driver P Ferguson being tipped from the sulky. Mr Ferguson was uninjured in this incident. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed abrasions to both knees and the right hip. An inquiry was opened into this incident and adjourned sine die.
SHARKIES GIRL - raced wide early.
WICKED WANDA - appeared to lay in and locked wheels with an inside runner passing the 200m resulting in Driver B Butcher being tipped from the sulky badly checking a trailing runner which also lost all chance. This mare was then caught by the Clerk of the Course. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed superficial lacerations to the off hind. Mr Butcher was examined by St John ambulance staff and found to have sustained some minor abrasions.
MHAI SURFER GIRL - back from position at dispatch. Driver M White was issued with a warning.
YOU LITTLE BEAUTY - held up throughout the home straight when unable to secure clear running.
ALWAYS B STUNNING - badly checked passing the 200m and lost all chance. Both the mare and Driver Z Butcher were uninjured in the incident.
