GIFT CARD - lay in throughout the run home. Stewards questioned driver S O'Reilly regarding the tactics she adopted during the running in particular when electing to remain in the running line passing the 500m and not shift out to progress forward when the opportunity existed to do so. Miss O'Reilly explained that the gelding has a tendency to hang on the final bend and in her opinion is more competitive when following another horse at this stage of the race so she elected to remain in the running line. Stewards also questioned her apparent lack of vigour over the concluding stages when narrowly beaten into 4th placing. Miss O'Reilly explained that the gelding had come to the end of its run and trotted roughly over the concluding stages when laying in and was unable to be fully driven out as a consequence. Stewards noted Miss O'Reilly's comments. |
