Trainer T Dewe advised Stewards on 27 May that NO ADDED SUGAR has had a joint treated since last racing.

JAY BEE HILL - driver B Wallace admitted a breach of Rule 847(3) that he failed to fasten the chin strap of his safety helmet which came adrift at the 600m. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.

Trainer T Stratford advised Stewards on 28 May that ASTA had developed a foot abscess which was treated, with the gelding now been sent for a spell.

HUCKLEBERRY - broke after 100m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
GIFT CARD - the required Veterinary clearance was received.
DEL'S CREATION - driver B Orange reported he did not activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
Race 2   BARNES WILD BLUFF OYSTERS MOBILE PACE
LA BAMBA - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 8.45am.
BLUE STAR HIMA - lay in rounding the final bend striking track markers.
RACIE DALE - lay in at stages throughout.
SUMMIT ULTRA - raced wide early.
RYLAN CHARLIE - broke late in the score up losing considerable ground. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
BUCKIE DUNDEE - over-raced in the early and middle stages.
Race 3   SOUTHFISH MOBILE PACE
HALEY ROBYN - held up over the concluding stages of the run home.
Race 4   UNITED FISHERIES TROT
PHISHING - stood on the mark as the start was effected then swung sideways losing considerable ground. Lay in entering the first bend contacting track markers before breaking and losing all chance. Following the race authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards viewed footage of the start with driver T Robertson and were satisfied the mare had not been denied a fair start.
ACTION PACKED - trotted roughly and broke passing the 100m. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
BROWN EYED GIRL - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
FATHER ON DOWN - broke after 100m losing all chance and galloped uncontrollably for a considerable distance before being restrained near the 1600m. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Placed on the Unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer E Swain.
STRIKE IT LUCKY - trainer M House was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $50 for being late to notify the gelding would race with fixed deafeners and an anti-choke device.
LIME IN A BOTTLE - trotted roughly in the early stages losing ground.
KISS ME KATE - lay in near the 900m contacting several track markers.
Race 5   MOUNTFORT FISHING COMPANY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
MEANDMYSHADOW - broke in the score up and failed to settle losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
ARTMORE - broke briefly in the run home. Junior driver H Douglas, in the presence of driver N Williamson, was shown the replays and spoken to advisedly regarding his lack of control when activating gear.
RAKERO CHASE - hampered and checked by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
LEDGER'S MAID - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend.
MAGNETIC DAUGHTER - raced wide early.
HAVARTI ARDEN - raced wide early.
GIVE ME JOY - late scratching at 11.00am due to being sold.
GEMS DELIGHT - broke rounding the first bend hampering trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Broke again leaving the first bend losing further ground.
STEEL LEDGER - raced wide final bend.
LIBBIE QWANTERROS - following the race the mare fell to the track near the 400m and was immediately attended to by the on-course Veterinarian before being transported from the track in the Horse Ambulance. A subsequent Veterinary examination revealed LIBBIE QWANTERROS had choked down and to have a high heart rate with a slow recovery. Driver S Walkinshaw was uninjured in this incident.
Race 6   HYDE LANDSCAPING MOBILE PACE
There was a delay of approximately 5 minutes to the start of this event due to the incident following the previous race.
LORTON VALE - weakened over the concluding stages. When asked to comment on the performance driver N Williamson advised he was disappointed and could offer no explanation.
MEGHAN MARKLE - over-raced early stages.
MONTAGE - raced wide early stages.
ARLO MAGUIRE - briefly held up final bend.
SLY TRICKS - slow to leave the prerace circle and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened final bend.
FABRICATE - weakened final bend.
Race 7   SOUTH PORT NZ LTD BLUFF CUP HANDICAP PACE
WARLOCH - broke at the start losing ground. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SOUTH SEAS ROCK - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
JORDY - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
Race 8   SOUTHLAND FARM SERVICES MOBILE PACE
DEAN JAMES - weakened in the run home. When asked to comment on the performance driver W House advised he was disappointed and could offer no explanation.
MATAU MARIA - broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Forced to race wider on the track near the 1100m when TERRA SANCTA shifted ground outwards. Briefly held up final bend then weakened in the run home.
WEHAVTIME - weakened in the run home.
TERRA SANCTA - junior driver B Fodie, assisted by senior driver B Williamson, admitted a charge under Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) Push Out Rule that she shifted ground outwards near the 1100m forcing MATAU MARIA wider on the track. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $150.
Race 9   AWARUA SYNERGY MOBILE PACE
CONNIE JACCKA - hampered by a weakening runner near the 700m. Held up final bend.
THE WULVER - hampered by a weakening runner near the 700m. Held up final bend and early in the run home.
FALCONS WATCH - weakened from the 700m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of lameness in the right front leg and to have a poor recovery. Stewards will follow up with trainer R Wilson in the coming days.
BOBBIES ROCK - raced wide early.
ALWAYS TICKING - trainer B Gray admitted a charge under Rule 865(2) that he presented the filly with blinds and not the notified sliding blinds. After considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $150. Raced wide early.
BROOKIES PLAYER - broke in the score up however was in position at the start.
DANGEROUS - held up through the middle stages of the run home.
Race 10   K B & ASSOCIATES MOBILE PACE
JENNY GUMP - required farrier attention around at the start.
MIDNIGHT BABE - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer T Bamford advised the mare has always had ability, had been working well in the lead up, benefitted from a drop in class today and he was not surprised by the forward showing.
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - weakened over the concluding stages.
MAGIC SIGN - out of position at the start. Junior driver H Douglas was issued with a warning. Broke rounding the final bend losing all chance. Stewards spoke with Mr Douglas, assisted by trainer J Douglas regarding this, where it was established MAGIC SIGN had broken free of interference. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
ROBYNS HUSTLER - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
