Race 5 - LAMB & HAYWARD HANDICAP TROT
Trainer B Butt advised Stewards on 29 May that RUAKAKA has had its hocks treated since last racing and he will continue with the gelding's current preparation.
Race 8 - FAHEY FENCE HIRE TROT
Connections advised Stewards on 29 May that GALLEONS GRANDSON has recovered well since its last start and they will continue with the gelding's current preparation.
At an adjourned hearing on 30 May, driver R Close defended a breach of Rule 868(3) in that he failed to drive GEORGE ELIOT out to the end of the race when having a reasonable chance of finishing 3rd. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and suspended Mr Close's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 2 June up to and including 16 June 2024 (4 days).

ONE EL - held up final bend. Hung inwards throughout the run home.
DOWNTOWN ORLANDO - broke after 200m hampering trailing runners losing ground. Broke again near the 1300m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
BOYZ INVASION - hampered by a breaking runner after 200m.
A HILL TWO MENNY - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend.
GEORGE ELIOT - lay outwards throughout the run home.
IZIA - hampered by a breaking runner after 200m.

DELIGHTFUL DREAMS - held up early in the run home.
MIDSUMMER DREAMING - over-raced early stages. Lost ground through the middle stages. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections advised the gelding may have choked down. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
DREAM BOYZ - over-raced early stages.
RAGAZZO MAJOR - raced wide early. Lay outwards in the run home.
KAIRAKI DELIGHT - raced wide early.
QUICKER THAN QUICK - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BELMONT VALOR - over-raced middle stages.

ROTTEN RODDEN - held up leaving the final bend.
INTERPOL - held up leaving the final bend.

DON JUAN - junior driver M Holbrough (assisted by M Purvis) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Holbrough's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 2 June up to and including 9 June 2024 (2 days).
Race 4   WOODLANDS STUD (FILLIES & MARES) MOBILE PACE
SUPERSTAR LEGEND - placed in restricted room after 150m having to be restrained when an outside runner shifted inwards.
JUKEBOX GYPSY - held up throughout the run home. Driver S O'Reilly defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly by shifting inwards after 150m when insufficiently clear of SUPERSTAR LEGEND (W House) which had to be restrained and lost its rightful racing position. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from both drivers and Stewards, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $400.
FIRST ROSE - over-raced early and middle stages.
SOUTHSIDE OF HEAVEN - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1100m.
GLORYS DELIGHT - raced wide early.
WOODLEA JEWEL - held up until late in the run home. Driver C Dalgety advised he did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds in consequence.
SOPHIA'S DREAM - paced roughly in the run home.
Race 5   HAGLEY WINDOWS & DOORS MOBILE PACE
RADHA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Stewards questioned Mr Dunn regarding the tactics he adopted during the running. Mr Dunn explained the gelding had raced greenly through the early stages and paced roughly losing ground resulting in him having to chase to catch the body of the field near the 1000m. Mr Dunn added the horse was racing up in grade and he was reluctant to improve his position in the middle stages after having to work hard early to obtain cover. Mr Dunn further added that when improving on the final bend he had been forced to race very wide on the track however was pleased with the gelding's effort given the fast overall time.
DONE ROCKN - hung inwards rounding the final bend causing driver C Thornley difficulty. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 60m.
TOWER OF LOVE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up final bend. Broke again near the 60m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the gelding.
GLENGARRY MOONLIGHT - over-raced passing the 1300m when being restrained to obtain cover. Raced keenly through the middle stages. Stewards questioned driver T Chmiel regarding his decision to shift outwards leaving the final bend instead of waiting for the available run in the passing lane. After considering his explanation, Stewards issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(f) which Mr Chmiel defended, alleging he drove improperly when shifting wider on the track instead of waiting for the available run in the passing lane which enabled MIKI BENNETT (T Williams) to improve to his inside and obtain clear running. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Chmiel, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.
WOTSONYAMIND - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised the gelding had worked hard in the early stages and raced greenly passing the 1200m when attempting to improve to the lead resulting in the horse having to race parked with the effort taking its toll. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
Race 6   FAULKS INVESTMENTS (JUNIOR DRIVERS) PACE
The start was delayed due to DEFY ME and OBSESSION becoming fractious and rearing on several occasions. A warning was placed on the barrier record of both horses.
DEFY ME - broke at the start losing ground. Held up final bend.
OBSESSION - held up final bend.
HAZER - late scratching at 10.15am on Veterinary advice.
THE CRAIC - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP - held up final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
EBURY STREET - lay inwards leaving the final bend simultaneous to APATCHOFGOLD hanging outwards despite the efforts of driver S Payne resulting in the off hind leg of APATCHOFGOLD making contact with the wheel of EBURY STREET. Driver T Bamford was shown a replay and warned to make a greater effort to ensure he does not crowd inside runners.
COUNTRY GOLD - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
ITSAMONEYMAKER - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
TOPAZ - held up final bend.
APATCHOFGOLD - hung outwards at various stages throughout causing driver S Payne difficulty. Lay outwards and crowded by an outside runner leaving the final bend. Mr Payne advised he did not activate the sliding blinds due to having difficulty steering the mare.
Race 7   CONTINENTAL EVENT HIRE MOBILE PACE
KIWI HERO - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards passing the 900m. Weakened final bend.
Race 8   MATT HARRISON CONSTRUCTION MOBILE TROT
MAJESDIX - held up final bend.
MARTHA STUART - over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
MISS YO - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
DASHER - over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend hampering a trailing runner and contacted several track markers. Driver M Howard was issued a warning to make a greater effort to avoid making contact with track markers.
STYX JEWEL - held up early in the run home before trotting roughly over the concluding stages with driver W House advising he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - held up final bend.
PAIGE - trotted roughly in the run home.
TI AMO BELLE - lay inwards in the run home.
FRANCO JOSIAH - raced wide early.
PRINCE TEKA - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
MASTER CLASS - trainer K Butt advised the gelding has been treated for a blood disorder and had its hocks treated since last racing. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 9   T K PLASTERING MOBILE PACE
BEVERLEY COURTNEY - held up until late in the run home.
THAT IS LOVE - fractious in the pre-race formation and refused to circle without the assistance of the Clerk of the Course. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
LIZZIE SHELBY - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
EYELINER - held up throughout the run home.
TACT TEENA - over-raced middle stages.
BLAZING TART - struck track markers rounding the final bend. Driver R Anderson was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice.
Race 10   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared after REMISSION broke in the score up hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Driver C Thornley elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.
REMISSION - broke in the score up of the restart losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion and placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
EDDIE OSEI - hampered by a weakening runner leaving the final bend.
BETTOR BE SHARP - held up early in the run home. Driver G O'Reilly advised the sliding blinds failed to activate due to the cord becoming entangled.
SKY ROCKET - over-raced through the middle stages.
LE TWIST - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner and lay inwards contacting a track marker. Continued to lay inwards in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised the filly had been under pressure rounding the final bend and had failed to respond to her urgings and been disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
