Trainer B Waldron advised Stewards on 17 May that GAVA has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Race 7 - MT HUTT TROTTING CLUB MOBILE PACE
Trainer B Waldron advised Stewards on 17 May that GEORGIE ZUKOV has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Co-trainer A Telfer advised Stewards on 17 May that JUBILEE ROCK has recovered well since its last start and will be freshened prior to resuming. Ms Telfer added the mare has been relocated to their North Island stable for future racing.

Race 1   FAHEY FENCE HIRE MOBILE TROT
NOAH MAGNIFIC - hung inwards rounding the first bend losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
EMILY - driver T Bamford was issued with a warning for contacting the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Weakened leaving the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
FREYA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
DASHER - over-raced middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend.
MISS YO - unsuccessfully challenged for the lead for a short distance passing the 1500m. Raced keenly through the middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised that after being unable to obtain the lead the effort had taken its toll. Trainer J Harrington advised the mare had been unsuited to racing in the parked position. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 2   BRECKON FARMS LOT 108 NZB WEANLING SALE MOBILE PACE
THAT IS LOVE - severely checked near the 300m. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
EYELINER - severely checked near the 300m. Lay inwards throughout the run home.
SHAKIRA - locked wheels with WOODLEA DIAMOND which hung outwards near the 300m losing ground with trailing runners being checked.
ENYA FRANCO - trainer S McRae was issued a warning for presenting the mare to race with removable deafeners which had not been notified.
MEGYN KELLY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver R Holmes. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened final bend.
WOODLEA DIAMOND - raced wide early. Locked wheels with SHAKIRA near the 300m with both runners losing ground and checking trailing runners. Stewards questioned driver K Cameron regarding this incident and after hearing his explanation it was established that WOODLEA DIAMOND had proved difficult for Mr Cameron to steer throughout the race and had hung outwards near the 300m just prior to SHAKIRA improving to the outside of the filly despite the efforts of Mr Cameron resulting in both runners locking wheels. Accordingly Stewards placed a warning on the racing record of WOODLEA DIAMOND with Mr Cameron advising he would be recommending gear changes prior to the filly resuming.
GLEN ELGIN HALLIE - lay inwards striking track markers near the 1050m.
GOOD TIME BETTY - over-raced early and middle stages. Checked near the 300m.
TACT TEENA - raced wide early.
LIZZIE SHELBY - checked near the 300m.
SHANNON B - checked near the 300m.
Race 3   PI & GJ KENNARD BLOODSTOCK (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
BETTERWITHBLING - briefly held up late in the run home.
KNOCKSHANBALLY - shifted inwards racing into the first bend resulting in TOPAZ having to be restrained. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend. Junior driver A Drake, who declined assistance from a senior driver, admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly by allowing his horse to shift inwards racing into the first bend when insufficiently clear of TOPAZ which was checked and lost its rightful racing position. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Drake's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 26 May 2024 (2 days).
TOPAZ - struck the sulky wheel of KNOCKSHANBALLY shortly after the start. Driver A Cameron was issued with a warning. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful there had been no consequential effects. Checked racing into the first bend by KNOCKSHANBALLY which shifted ground inwards.
Race 4   SENZ-NEW ZEALAND 2YO TROTTING STAKES (MOB TROT)
NOBILO - broke shortly after the start losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SHEEP - weakened rounding the final bend.
MISS MELANIE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Trainer A Faulks advised he would give consideration to sending the filly for a spell.
MASSIVE MERC - Stewards questioned driver A Clark regarding his decision not to shift inwards to obtain a trail when an opportunity existed rounding the first bend. Mr Clark advised the gelding had trotted roughly rounding the bend and for this reason he had been reluctant to restrain his runner any further and risk the chance of the horse breaking. Mr Clark added that once turning into the front straight near the 1400m where the horse had commenced to trot more fluently, he had attempted to shift the gelding inwards and obtain a trail however SHEEP had improved to his inside resulting in MASSIVE MERC being left to race parked. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
FRAZZLED - trotted roughly in the score up and was back from the unruly position at the start. Broke near the 300m losing all chance.
Race 5   SMART SPARKS ELECTRICAL CELEBRATING 20 YEARS MOBILE PACE
MY FRIEND LOUIE - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
COMMANDER BEN - over-raced middle stages. Held up early in the run home.
MAJOR TORQUE - weakened leaving the final bend.
CARRERA RAPIDO - raced wide early.
STEPHS BOY - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend.
Race 6   GARRY THOMPSON MOBILE TROT
STYX JEWEL - trainer M House advised the mare has had its joints treated since last racing. Trotted roughly in the run home. Driver W House advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
PAIGE - trotted roughly in the run home.
TI AMO BELLE - over-raced middle stages. Had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
JULIE JACCKA - trotted roughly passing the 100m. Driver N Williamson was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
Race 7   AVON CITY FORD NEW ZEALAND WELCOME STAKES (MOB PACE)
The start was delayed due to PARTY CENTRAL requiring farrier attention.
MARKETPLACE - held up final bend.
ALWAYS DREAMING - when questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver N Williamson advised in his opinion the colt was feeling the effects of recent racing and would now be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 8   TYRE GENERAL CANTERBURY PLAINS SERIES FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
NED KELLY - over-raced middle stages.
PHILADELPHIA FILLY - weakened from the 600m hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance trainer M Purvis advised although the mare had been unsuited to racing parked and the tempo of the race, he was disappointed with the effort and would be sending the horse for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
AMELIA ROSE - trainer M House advised the mare has had its joints treated since last racing.
BETTERTHANDIVA - over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner passing the 600m.
WRIGGLES RUFUS - held up final bend.
KENNEDY - over-raced early stages. Held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
COURAGE REACTOR - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start briefly unbalancing driver R Holmes with the mare breaking in consequence losing ground. Returned to the stabling area with blood present on the off fore leg with a post-race veterinary examination revealing a laceration on the right front heel which was bandaged.
IDEAL CHEVRON - broke shortly after the start and shifted inwards checking an inside runner losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 9   'WOODLANDS STUD' SECOND 'AUTUMN MARES' SPRINT MOBILE PACE
IDEAL DOUBLE - held up final bend.
WOODLEA JEWEL - briefly crowded near the 1400m after GLORYS DELIGHT had shifted ground inwards. Stewards questioned drivers R Close (GLORYS DELIGHT) and C Dalgety (WOODLEA JEWEL) regarding this incident where it was established that Mr Close had commenced to shift his runner inwards when sufficiently clear of WOODLEA JEWEL however shortly after Mr Dalgety urged his horse forward in an attempt to take up a position three back on the marker line resulting in him having to steady for a short distance when becoming awkwardly placed to the inside of GLORYS DELIGHT. After viewing the replays and considering their explanations, both drivers were reminded of their obligations given similar circumstances in future. When questioned regarding the improved performance Mr Dalgety advised the mare had shown natural improvement from its first start back from a spell and had benefitted from the addition of sliding blinds combined with a drop in class of opposition tonight.
TOKYO ROSE - weakened in the run home.
ONWARDSANDUPWARDS - hung inwards rounding the final bend and throughout the run home causing driver J Cox difficulty.
GLORYS DELIGHT - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
Race 10   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
MILLWOOD GODDESS - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened leaving the final bend.
CEE WHO'S BETTOR - paced roughly for a distance in the early stages hampering several runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced early and middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
MAJOR HAPPY - hampered in the early stages.
