Race 1   RIVERTON BUTCHERY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
KARDASHIAN - lay in and proved difficult to steer for driver T Robertson near the 800m, contacting several track markers. Continued to lay in when weakening rounding the final bend. Stewards questioned driver T Robertson regarding the tactics he adopted during the early and middle stages when being challenged for the lead by the favoured SHE'S A JEWEL. Mr Robertson stated that his intention was to restrain and obtain cover however due to the mare over-racing and laying in he was unable to do so, adding that when SHE'S A JEWEL (B Williamson) attempted to take the lead KARDASHIAN commenced to race fiercely proving very difficult to steer. After viewing the replays which supported Mr Robertson's explanation, Stewards took the matter no further other than to place a warning on the racing record of KARDASHIAN. Mr Robertson also advised he would be suggesting gear changes to connections.
SHE'S A JEWEL - raced greenly when challenging for the lead near the 800m and then again for a distance after obtaining the lead. Stewards spoke with driver B Williamson regarding this stage of the race who confirmed that the filly had raced greenly and knocked off when attempting to gain the lead and again had dropped the bit momentarily after getting to the front.
SWEET DJ - broke early in the score up however was in position at the start. Showed signs of a weepy eye on return to the tie ups with a post-race Veterinary examination at the request of connections revealing the filly to have several small superficial corneal ulcers, which were treated.
MATAU MARIA - raced wide early.
Race 2   RIVERTON RACING CLUB MOBILE PACE
ARTMORE - over-raced early and middle stages.
MECHANICAL BULL - broke on several occasions in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Showed signs of soreness on return to the tie ups with a post-race Veterinary examination at the request of connections revealing the gelding to be lame in the left fore leg. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
THE MAESTRO - broke in the score up however was in position at the start. Weakened from the 700m. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
MATAURA B B - broke in the score up however was in position at the start.
LEDGER'S MAID - raced wide early. Driver T Nally reported he had difficulty releasing the hopple shorteners for some distance.
SUMMIT ULTRA - lay in throughout the run home having to be corrected by driver K Green.
STILTON LORD - weakened from the 700m. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
SCOTT - weakened final bend.
Race 3   TUI BASE CAMP FILLIES & MARES MOBILE TROT
JANAKA'S DELIGHT - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
ANOTHER DEMON - cleared from the Unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 4   RIVERTON RURAL TRANSPORT LTD MOBILE PACE
LORTON VALE - held up for the majority of the run home only gaining clear racing room over the concluding stages.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 8.40am.
JENNY GUMP - over-raced shortly after the start when being restrained to take cover.
SLY TRICKS - lay in when weakening rounding the final bend contacting track markers.
ARLO MAGUIRE - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer/driver D O'Connell stated that the gelding had been working well in the lead up and was suited by the tempo of the race, adding he was not surprised by the effort.
Race 5   G B ROBERTSON MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
BUCKIE DUNDEE - held up leaving final bend.
MAJOR MEDLEY - stumbled and broke passing the 50m and failed to settle. Following the race Stewards lodged a protest, which the connections of MAJOR MEDLEY contested, against this runner's 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had galloped in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and trainer A Hoffman the Adjudicative Committee upheld the protest and disqualified MAJOR MEDLEY from 4th placing. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 6   WINTON NIGHT 'N DAY HANDICAP TROT
RUBY SEDDON - lay in and trotted roughly rounding the final bend contacting track markers.
DONT ASK - contacted a track marker rounding the final bend. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had not gained an advantage. Driver K Tomlinson was issued with a warning for contacting track markers.
Race 7   BILL KEAST MEMORIAL GOLD CHIP FINAL (HANDICAP TROT)
PHISHING - weakened from the 700m hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - broke after 150m losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Weakened final bend.
HENNESSY - hampered by a weakening runner near the 700m. Weakened final bend.
FATHER ON DOWN - broke passing the 1600m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
KYLE LOCH - locked sulky stays with JACCKA BAYLIS for a distance in the run home.
JACCKA BAYLIS - held up early in the run home and locked sulky stays with KYLE LOCH for a distance before obtaining clear racing room over the concluding stages. Driver J Cox reported he did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence. Mr Cox also reported that the gelding had been striking the sulky wheels during the running.
XERION - trotted roughly in the run home and could not be fully driven out by driver K Larsen.
Race 8   TRANSPORT SERVICES LTD MOBILE PACE
RAKAMURPH - shifted out when laying out over the concluding stages placing an outside runner in restricted room. Notwithstanding the gelding was laying out driver N Williamson was issued with a warning to ensure he makes a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
BROOKIES PLAYER - raced in restricted room late in the run home when JORDY lay in. Following the race junior driver H Douglas, assisted by J Cox, viewed replays of the concluding stages before deciding not to proceed with a protest against 1st placing being awarded to JORDY.
JORDY - trainer T Dewe was issued with a warning for failing to have the correct colours available. Lay in throughout the run home despite the efforts of driver S O'Reilly, placing inside runners in restricted room. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
CAPTAIN STARLIGHT - lay out and paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MR CASH MAN - shifted up the track entering the home straight. Junior driver D Anderson was issued with a warning to ensure he makes a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home. Placed in restricted room over the concluding stages when runners either side shifted ground.
MIGHTYFLYIN SUPASTAR - raced greenly into the first bend. Lay in and paced roughly near the 500m contacting the sulky of HUKI FELLA and lost ground in consequence. When asked to comment on the performance driver M Hurrell stated he had steering issues with the gelding throughout the race and he would be recommending gear changes.
Race 9   REG DRAKE & ALEX JENKINS LIFE MEMBERS MOBILE PACE
SPORTY CHARLIE - weakened in the run home. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality. Stewards will follow up with trainer B Morris in the coming days.
THE OTHER BROTHER - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 10   KENNEDY BUILDING LTD MOBILE PACE
MATAI HARRY - lay in final bend contacting track markers.
TRAIL BOSS - held up leaving final bend.
BREENY'S ROCK N ROLL - raced wide with cover from the 800m.
MEGHAN MARKLE - the required Veterinary clearance was received. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
EZRA THE SCRIBE - over-raced early.
STILLYOURSHOT - raced wide without cover from the 800m.
