Race 7 - DAWSON HARFORD TAYLOR MILE MOBILE PACE |
Driver A Sanderson (SPEAK THE TRUTH) admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion on the final turn. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Sanderson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 7 May up to and including 14 May 2024 (6 days). |

Trainer A Donnelly advised that she would be having the gelding further vetted in the coming days and will advise Stewards should anything be detected. | |
MERLIN - when questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher stated he was satisfied with the run given the way the entire had responded after having led up. | |

MUSCLE MOUNTAIN - Driver B Hope admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly entering the first turn by shifting his gelding inwards when not sufficiently clear resulting in JUST BELIEVE being tightened down on to OSCAR BONAVENA which raced over a track marker. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committed suspended Mr Hope's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 5 May up to and including 15 May 2024 (5 days). | |

POTTER - commenced to weaken near the 500m hampering a trailing runner and lay in racing over several track markers near the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild inflammation of the airway. | |
SKIPPER - restrained to the rear early but commenced to over-race and was taken forward three wide near the 1600m. Had to be steadied near the 300m after shifting to the marker line when LEO LINCOLN moved down on to the leader's back. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m. When questioned regarding his failure to shift out to a three wide position approaching the 400m prior to being covered by FIFTH AND FINAL Driver T Herlihy stated that he was mindful that his runner had over-raced when caught wide over the early and middle stages. Mr Herlihy further stated that he had been aware that POTTER had commenced to weaken so felt his best option was to look to improve down on to the leader's back but that position was then taken up by LEO LINCOLN resulting in SKIPPER being held up briefly. Stewards noted Mr Herlihy's comments and took the matter no further. |
