Race 1   MID WINTER CHRISTMAS TICKETS ON SALE NOW MOBILE PACE
MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT - tired from the 600m to finish distanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Driver M Salaivao admitted a charge under Rule 868(2) in that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure his gelding was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible finishing position during the middle stages by persisting with a challenge for the lead. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Salaivao's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 24 July 2024 (6 days).
BEACH PARTY - over-raced middle stages.
RIVERBOY BEN - over-raced middle stages. Held up final turn and in the early stages of the run home before then racing in restricted room. Driver J Brownlee reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners as a result.
COMMANDER LINCOLN - paced roughly for several strides passing the 300m.

BOSS KENNY - Driver Z Meredith reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MAZEPPA - tangled for several strides at the start. Over-raced middle stages.
ARADNE - broke near the 250m losing its chance.
SONSOFTHEMERCH - pre-race warmed. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
PRESIDENT FLYNNTIN - broke rounding the first turn losing ground. Weakened in the run home.
COOL PHELAN - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
EAGLE HANOVER - broke rounding the first turn losing ground. Raced wide for a distance during the middle stages. Weakened from the 400m. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
KAIPAKI JACK - when questioned regarding the performance Trainer J Teaz stated that his runner was up in grade and had failed to see out the 2700m in what was the gelding's first race over this distance. He further stated that getting back in running from the second row draw had also proved to be detrimental.
SASSY STAR - raced wide early stages before crossing to the parked position near the 1800m. Raced keenly middle stages when outside the leader. Broke near the 550m losing its chance.
ITBETTERBENOW - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Broke near the 400m but soon settled. Weakened in the run home.
Race 3   WATCHU SECURITY MOBILE PACE
BOBBY BOY - Driver S Burley reported that she did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
PROVISEUR - back from position at dispatch. Driver E Johnson was issued with a warning. Pulled hard middle stages.
Race 4   GAVELHOUSE.COM TROT
GRACE N ELEGANCE - held up middle stages of the run home.
FERDINAND - raced greenly when leading during the middle stages.
BARSUKOV - raced wide early.
ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL - broke rounding the first turn hampering a trailing runner and lost considerable ground.
PRETTY PETITE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1850m and broke losing ground. Broke again near the 1250m losing further ground.
BOSS JO - slow early losing ground. Broke passing the 1400m when trailing the field.
Race 5   MCMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS MOBILE PACE
There was a brief delay when gear on MANTRA required attention.
SHEZ THE ONE - raced wide early before crossing to the parked position near the 1500m. Weakened final turn.
ONYX SHARD - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear.
PANDORA - checked near the 450m when locking wheels with an inside runner resulting in Driver T Cameron being tipped from the sulky. Mr Cameron was examined by St John personnel and cleared to take his remaining drive. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
WATCH YOUR BACK - Co-trainers P & V Blanchard were issued with a $50 Minor Infringement Notice for the late notification of the removal of sliding blinds.
MANTRA - raced four wide from the 700m before breaking near the 450m checking trailing runners and lost its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
CAROLINA MOON - held up early final turn.
TUGAWAR - checked by a breaking runner near the 450m and broke before locking wheels with an outside runner losing all chance.
Race 6   WOODLANDS STUD WEANLING DRAFT 2024 MOBILE PACE
SHEZA MERMAID - shifted out three wide near the 1500m before racing lethargically when attempting to improve passing the 1000m and was obliged to remain three wide without cover thereafter.
MAGIE DO - weakened near the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the mare's racing performance.
GWENDOLINE MARY - lost ground racing down the back when trailing a runner that had commenced to weaken.
SPIRIT OF WAIHEKE - underwent a post race veterinary examination at the request of connections and found to have muscle tie up which required treatment from the Veterinarian. Stewards will follow up with Trainer M White regarding the filly's recovery in the coming days.
MISS WOODVILLE - commenced to improve three wide near the 1550m but then raced wider after SHEZA MERMAID shifted out from the running line. It was established that Driver N Chilcott (SHEZA MERMAID) had commenced her outward movement prior to MISS WOODVILLE reaching her sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
Race 7   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS HANDICAP TROT
SWEET OLIVIA - broke approaching the first turn losing all chance.
FIVE O'CLOCK GERRY - had some difficulty obtaining clear running over the latter stages of the home straight.
ALDEBARAN PIPPI - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
RUBY RIDGE - broke at the start but soon settled.
WINNERS TIME - broke briefly at the start.
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - broke rounding the first turn and settled in a pace losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 8   NZB AIRFREIGHT MOBILE PACE
BUGALUGS - pulled hard when being restrained early.
SHARKIES GIRL - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
EASTWOOD DREAM - held up final turn and throughout the run home.
CRISTIANO BUCCINI - weakened in the run home.
VICTOR BRAVO - broke near the 200m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Race 9   OFF THE TRACK FOOD AND BEV MOBILE PACE
TUAREG - beaten for early speed. Paced roughly rounding the first turn having to be steadied.
TAKETHEPLUNGE - authorisation of 1st placing was briefly withheld until Driver M White confirmed that his chances had not been affected when having to shift wider in the run home when LINCOLN COVE lay out.
LINCOLN COVE - lay out and shifted wider throughout the run home despite the efforts of Driver Z Butcher.
T BONE WALKER - over-raced middle stages.
DOO YOU WANT ME - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver A Poutama stated that the 2yo was racing older horses in this event and had tended to get on the outside rein at various stages and in particular rounding the final turn.
INLOUOF - lay in rounding the turns. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver B Butcher confirmed that the gelding had proved difficult to steer and that connections would look to make corrective gear changes.
