MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT - tired from the 600m to finish distanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Driver M Salaivao admitted a charge under Rule 868(2) in that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure his gelding was given full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible finishing position during the middle stages by persisting with a challenge for the lead. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Salaivao's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 24 July 2024 (6 days). | |

SPIRIT OF WAIHEKE - underwent a post race veterinary examination at the request of connections and found to have muscle tie up which required treatment from the Veterinarian. Stewards will follow up with Trainer M White regarding the filly's recovery in the coming days. | |
MISS WOODVILLE - commenced to improve three wide near the 1550m but then raced wider after SHEZA MERMAID shifted out from the running line. It was established that Driver N Chilcott (SHEZA MERMAID) had commenced her outward movement prior to MISS WOODVILLE reaching her sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary. |

INLOUOF - lay in rounding the turns. Weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver B Butcher confirmed that the gelding had proved difficult to steer and that connections would look to make corrective gear changes. |
