Driver B Williamson (SWEET SOUTHERN LASS) admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) when shifting ground outwards near the 1700m forcing HUKI FELLA wider on the track. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200. |

Driver J Cox (PYRAMID MYSTIC) defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly when shifting ground inwards near the 1300m making contact with FIERY BANDITO which broke in consequence. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from the Stewards, K Green (FIERY BANDITO) and J Cox, the Adjudicative Commitee dismissed the charge. |

WINNING BONES - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer M Williamson advised that the gelding had appreciated the drop in class from recent racing and races well at this course over the distance of today's race. | |
RUBY SEDDON - trotted roughly in the run home. | |
WITHOUT COMPARISON - broke rounding the final bend losing all chance. | |
PETRONELLI GEE - checked shortly after the start by an outside runner. | |
GRANNY ROSE - checked and broke just prior to the tapes being released losing all chance. Following the race Stewards reviewed the films of the start and after speaking with driver M Williamson declared GRANNY ROSE a non-runner pursuant to Rule 213(1)(j) due to being denied a fair start. | |
DEL'S CREATION - shifted in abruptly just prior to the start, hampering and checking GRANNY ROSE. Broke shortly the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. | |
KRACKALING - locked sulky wheels with JOHNS BOY shortly after the start and broke as a consequence losing all chance. Stewards spoke with driver B Williamson regarding this incident. Mr Williamson explained that after becoming awkwardly placed behind JORDAN ANNE which was slow to begin, he had shifted to the outside of that runner, and despite the efforts of himself and driver A Armour (JOHNS BOY), the two runners had locked sulky wheels. After viewing replays Stewards were satisfied with the explanation of Mr Williamson and took the matter no further. | |

SPORTY CHARLIE - held up by a weakening runner leaving the final bend. When asked to comment on the improved performance driver K Larsen advised that the gelding had benefitted from a recent gear change and receiving an economical run today. | |
BETTER BE WATCHING - checked near the 1000m when an outside runner shifted inwards. | |
AMERICAN MAC - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. A post-race Veterinary examination at the request of connections after the gelding showed signs of soreness on return to the stabling area, revealed some lameness in the right hind leg. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming. | |

SKY ROCKET - held up by a weakening runner final bend and was again held up throughout the run home. Driver R Close reported he did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence. | |

Driver T Williams admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he shifted ground inwards near the 1000m when insufficiently clear of BETTER BE WATCHING which was checked. DREAMS ARE FREE - Stewards questioned driver N Williamson regarding the tactics he adopted during the running. Mr Williamson advised that after working hard through the middle stages when chasing the field, he elected to give the colt some respite and save it for one run. After considering the matter, Stewards were satisfied Mr Williamson's tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further. |

MIXED FAITH - over-raced for a distance near the 2000m. Raced three wide from the 900m. Weakened leaving the final bend. Trainer/driver B Williamson reported the mare had trotted roughly during the running and it was his intention to send the horse for a spell. | |
SALLY LINDENNY - raced four wide from the 850m before weakening from the 500m. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule when JIMMY CARTER raced wider on the track near the 1500m. After viewing replays, it was established that driver K Green (SALLY LINDENNY) had commenced her outwards movement prior to JIMMY CARTER reaching her sulky wheel, accordingly no further action was deemed necessary. When asked to comment on the performance driver K Green could offer no explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality. |

Driver R Close admitted a breach of Rule 869(7A)(c) in that he forced another runner to race over track markers. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $400. | |
RUBY ROE - raced greenly when attempting to obtain the lead near the 1200m hampering trailing runners. Weakened from the 400m hampering trailing runners. When asked to comment on the performance trainer/driver N Williamson advised that the filly had raced greenly and over-raced at various stages which had taken its toll, adding that RUBY ROE may be better suited to racing with cover. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality. |

RUBIRA - shifted inwards throughout the run home having to be straightened by driver B Orange and locked sulky stays with ALWAYS DREAMING over the concluding stages. | |
BETTORS ANVIL - raced four wide briefly near the 1100m before obtaining the parked position. | |
ALWAYS DREAMING - locked sulky stays with RUBIRA over the concluding stages when placed in restricted room. Following the race authorisation of placings was withheld until driver N Williamson had viewed the footage of the concluding stages before electing not to proceed with a protest against 1st placing being awarded to RUBIRA. |
