Race 1   WOODLANDS WEANLINGS ARE GROUP 1 WINNERS 2YO MOBILE TROT
MASSIVE MERC - broke in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trotted roughly and broke near the 600m losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 100m before settling just prior to the finish. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the replays driver A Clark did not contest the protest and MASSIVE MERC was disqualified by the Stewards.
MAJOR DOOSIE - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trotted roughly racing into the first bend losing ground. Again trotted roughly and broke passing the 1300m losing its chance. Authorisation of the promoted 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation during the running.
Race 2   CONGRATULATIONS ROBERT DUNN 2000 WINS FROM NZMTC MOBILE PACE
JUST FOXIN - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
SOLAR NEIGH - weakened rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised the gelding had worked hard through the middle stages when improving to the lead with the effort taking its toll and he expected the gelding would derive significant benefit from the race in what was its first start back after a spell.
POST PAINTER - lay in rounding the first bend striking and dislodging a track marker. Over-raced middle stages.
HUGHES TWO ME - weakened final bend.
NEVERSEENTHERAIN - jumped a mark on the track near the 1100m and broke briefly when improving to the lead. Hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
WESTBURN ABBY - over-raced middle stages.
FULHAM JIVE - over-raced middle stages.
Race 3   IRT SIRES' STAKES 3YO TROTTERS PRELUDE (MOBILE TROT)
TIME FOR VICTORY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 300m.
FATHER TIME - broke near the 300m striking several track markers hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance.
IMPERIAL COMMAND - weakened from the 500m.
TYRON EROS - raced wide early. Broke near the 150m and continued on in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the replays the connections did not contest the protest and TYRON EROS was disqualified by the Stewards.
Race 4   GARRARDS MOBILE PACE
BLACK MACH - crowded racing into the first bend by an outside runner striking track markers.
JUDGEMENT BAY - shifted inwards racing into the first bend crowding an inside runner. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 100m. Driver K Cameron defended a breach of Rule 869(7A)(c) alleging that he shifted inwards racing into the first bend causing BLACK MACH to be crowded and strike several track markers. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Cameron, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.
MY FRIEND LOUIE - paced roughly racing into the first bend. Broke near the 100m hampering trailing runners losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
KIWI HERO - lay inwards near the 1100m striking several track markers. Over-raced middle stages. Hung inwards final bend losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner late in the run home. Driver R Holmes advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
WHAT A MINX - raced wide early.
SHEPHERDS DELIGHT - raced wide early.
Race 5   THE TYRE GENERAL MOBILE TROT
GEORGE ELIOT - slow to leave the pre-race formation and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
SILVERLININGS - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
HERE COMES JANE - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
REGAL SIERRA - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver B Orange advised the mare had received an economical run throughout and had appreciated a return to mobile racing.
NATIVES INFERNO - raced wide early. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
KRACKALING - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1300m.
SUNNY LOUIS - raced wide early.
MARKTHEWARRIOR - broke near the 200m losing all chance.
Race 6   MAGNESS BENROW SIRES' STAKES 3YO FILLIES HEAT 2 MOBILE PACE
WOODLEA DIAMOND - briefly held up middle stages of the run home.
BUBBLE ME - hung inwards at various stages throughout. Weakened final bend.
QUEEN OF SWORDS - driver J Dunn advised he did not activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
Race 7   FAHEY FENCE HIRE MOBILE PACE
HERB - lay inwards rounding the first bend striking several track markers. Lay outwards throughout the run home.
TIDE AND TIME - driver R Close advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
GLORYS DELIGHT - weakened final bend.
CARRERA RAPIDO - held up final bend and again over the concluding stages.
TEMPO WARRIOR - raced wide without cover from the 1300m. Weakened final bend.
DENY EVERYTHING - paced roughly near the 1900m losing ground. Raced wide with cover from the 1300m.
Race 8   LAMB & HAYWARD HANDICAP TROT
WHO'S QUEEN - lay inwards near the 1500m striking track markers.
MIXED FAITH - lay in and struck track markers near the 1500m and again near the 300m. Stewards questioned driver B Williamson regarding his apparent lack of vigour in the run home. After taking initial evidence Stewards opened and adjourned an enquiry for further consideration. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
PARIS PRINCE - began awkwardly. Broke near the 450m losing all chance.
Race 9   CANTERBURY PLAINS CHALLENGE SERIES (HEAT 1) MOBILE PACE
WRIGGLES RUFUS - driver W House was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home.
BEEPS - driver A Mugford reported the gelding had hung on several occasions throughout causing her difficulty and as a result she did not activate the removable deafeners.
BETTOR REACTION - over-raced middle stages.
FOLLOW ME FANTASY - raced wide early. Driver B Williamson was issued a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
FERNZ GOLDY - raced wide early and middle stages.
SPIRITED LOU - raced wide early and middle stages.
SARGENT BEST - when questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver M Williamson advised the gelding had raced lethargically throughout and he was very disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
FAST ACE - raced wide early.
Following this race the track was downgraded to Easy.
Race 10   GOLD BAND TAXIS MOBILE PACE
KINK - briefly held up early in the run home.
CEE WHO'S BETTOR - held up over the concluding stages.
HI HOPES - raced wide early.
RADIOACTIVE JAFFA - raced wide early. Driver R May advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
CARRERA KAHU - paced roughly on several occasions throughout. Driver S Tomlinson advised she did not activate the sliding blinds.
