Starter R Donnelly was spoken to regarding the procedure when using the hand held barrier. |

SWEET DREAMS - out of position at the candy pole and start despite the efforts of driver R Close. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Lay inwards rounding the final bend and then was awkwardly placed close to the sulky of KAIRAKI CONFIDENTIAL which had lay outwards when being shifted wider when weakening near the 300m. Stewards questioned drivers R Close (SWEET DREAMS), J Cox (OFF THE EDGE) and J Dunn (KAIRAKI CONFIDENTIAL) regarding this with Mr Close advising his horse had been slow to react when being shifted wider due to laying inwards on the boring pole. After hearing from all drivers and viewing the replays Stewards were satisfied that no one horse or driver was at fault and no further action was required. | |
