FATHER ON DOWN - lay inwards and broke briefly rounding the final bend and then raced over track markers. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages and was unable to be fully driven out by driver E Swain. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until the Stewards confirmed the gelding had not gained an advantage when racing over track markers and had also complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. Trainer E Swain advised he would be giving consideration to making gear changes.

SUMMIT ULTRA - over-raced near the 1200m then hung inwards and struck a wheel before breaking. Driver H Douglas was spoken to regarding the manner he drove at this stage of the race. In assessing this Stewards took into account the tractability of SUMMIT ULTRA. Held up early stages of the run home.

HUKI FELLA - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend. Weakened from the 500m hampering a trailing runner. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule when HUKI FELLA raced wider on the track near the 1700m when SWEET SOUTHERN LASS shifted ground outwards. After hearing initial evidence from drivers M Hurrell and B Williamson (SWEET SOUTHERN LASS) and viewing the replays Stewards adjourned the matter sine die due to the drivers having to leave the course with travel commitments. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Hurrell advised that after being hampered rounding the first bend and racing wider on the track near the 1700m the gelding had then worked hard to obtain the parked position with the effort taking its toll over the concluding stages, adding he was not disappointed with the run. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
