Race 1   WELCOME TO WAIMATE TC'S ANNUAL MEETING MOBILE PACE
HALEY ROBYN - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Placed in restricted room entering the first bend contacting several track markers. Paced roughly over the concluding stages.
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - jumped a mark on the track near the 100m.
FRANCO CORNEL - broke late in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
FOURTH AMENDMENT - placed HALEY ROBYN in restricted room racing into the first bend. Driver M Maynard was warned for the manner in which he shifted ground.
NYLA - lay out leaving the final bend and again near the 300m making contact with the sulky of HALEY ROBYN and broke briefly as a result.
Race 2   ROYAL TAVERN TROT
MUSICAL TRIX - broke near the 400m checking and hampering trailing runners losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
FATHER ON DOWN - checked and broke near the 400m losing its chance.
FORGIVENESS - broke leaving the final bend and again passing the 200m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
PRINCESS PENNY - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
PRACTICAL MAGIC - broke racing over the crossing passing the 1600m losing ground. Broke again near the 300m before settling. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation during the running.
IMPERIAL COMMAND - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
HENNESSY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 400m.
ROCKY IN PARADISE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 3   WAIMATE STORAGE PASSING LANE MOBILE PACE
TINDER ROSE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
JUSTA LILY - raced wide early. Weakened from the 800m. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Williamson was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from the thumps.
RESILIENT - held up early in the run home.
CUTIE - weakened over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of the connections revealed a slow recovery. Trainer D Keast advised he will have further veterinary tests undertaken in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
LILY'S A STAR - weakened in the run home.
AURORA BOREALIS - raced wide early.
KID GLOVES - weakened final bend.
Race 4   MULTIAG PACE
LAY ON MACDUFF - broke briefly at the start.
ROCKOUTRAY - broke at the start and shifted outwards making contact with the sulky of SPEED WRITER losing ground. Lost a front boot in the early stages.
SPEED WRITER - broke at the start and shifted inwards making contact with the sulky of ROCKOUTRAY losing ground. Forced wider on the track near the 1100m.
SHADOW CREEK - paced roughly in the middle stages of the run home.
PACIFIC THUNDER - broke at the start losing ground.
SPECTATOR - tangled away. Shifted wider on the track near the 1100m. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule however after viewing the replays it was established that driver J Morrison had shifted outwards prior to SPEED WRITER reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was required.
Race 5   ROBBIE CRAWFORD, MORTGAGE ADVISER AT LIFETIME TROT
BRIANNA - tangled away.
PRINCE RANIER - held up early in the run home.
MENTALIST - broke near the 1700m losing considerable ground. Broke again rounding the final bend losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 6   WAIMATE TROTTING CLUB LIFE MEMBERS HANDICAP PACE
VINITA ROSE - broke briefly at the start. Broke again shortly after the start losing ground.
FITZTHEBILL - broke briefly at the start losing ground.
Race 7   GM ACCOUNTING & CONSULTING LTD TROT
WUDABUBBIT - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Held up early in the run home. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
MM SUNSHINE - raced wide early.
JORDAN ANNE - raced wide through the middle stages.
MUSCLYNN - raced wide early. Held up middle stages of the run home.
SON OF THE CLEANER - broke passing the 850m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
SILVERLININGS - raced wide early. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages when leading before breaking just prior to the finish line losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
Race 8   WHITESTONE LIVESTOCK WAIMATE CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
SHE'S TOUGH - hampered final bend by a breaking runner. Driver K Butt reported she received a flat sulky tyre during the running.
HAZER - paced roughly shortly after the start. Broke after 200m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
JIMMYRAY - broke at the start losing ground.
SZYBKA LANE - hampered final bend by a breaking runner.
STILL ROCKIN - broke rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver R Gutsell reported the gelding had been striking a knee during the running.
MO'UNGA - paced roughly briefly passing the 2400m. Hampered final bend by a breaking runner.
KIKORANGI BLUE - broke at the start losing ground.
SMOKE ON THE WATER - hampered by a breaking runner after 200m.
Race 9   ROYAL TAVERN LIQUOR CENTRE MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed three minutes due to LETS GET TROPICAL requiring a change of sulky.
GET IT ON - held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the run home.
FRIENDLY EYRE - raced wide early.
IGETAKICKOUTOFYOU - raced wide early.
RAZORS EDGE - raced wide early.
SARGENT BEST - raced four wide around the first bend and then three wide from the 1400m with cover and then without cover from the 1250m for the remainder of the event. Weakened from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Junior driver B Fodie (assisted by R Close) was questioned by Stewards regarding the tactics she adopted when racing wide throughout before weakening. Miss Fodie advised it was her intention to push forward and be near the lead and she believed the horse felt lethargic throughout and due to this had been unable to obtain a forward position. After considering her explanation, Stewards adjourned the matter to give it further consideration.
JUSTIN FUN - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer K Kelly advised the race had been run to suit today with the mare appreciating the grass track.
ARLO MAGUIRE - driver D O'Connell reported he was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
THE BETTOR MAJOR - raced wide from the 1000m.
Race 10   INTERPAINT HANDICAP TROT
PYRAMID MYSTIC - broke on several occasions from the 1800m losing ground. Broke again briefly passing the 200m.
CODY BANNER - lay out final bend losing ground.
PAIGE - broke at the start losing ground.
DOMINATION'S CALL - the breastplate came adrift during the running. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer/driver B Williamson advised the gelding had been racing well recently, today's race was a drop back in class and the horse was suited by the grass track.
FRANCO JOSIAH - lay in final bend contacting a track marker. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Morrison advised the gelding may not have been suited by the grass track today.
Race 11   THANK YOU OAMARU RACECOURSE MOBILE PACE
THE JAFA EXPRESS - over-raced middle stages. Lay in rounding the final bend briefly locking wheels with EDDIE JAMES.
SCARLETT'S LEGACY - held up briefly leaving the final bend.
