Race 7 - GARRARDS SIRES STAKES 3YO COLTS & GELDINGS HEAT 1 MOB PACE
When questioned regarding his apparent lack of vigour late in the run home Driver S Phelan (JEREMIAH) stated that he had been placed at a disadvantage with poor visibility due to the slushy conditions and been reluctant to continue to drive his gelding out between runners for safety reasons. After viewing replays Stewards noted Mr Phelan's explanation and took the matter no further.

Race 1   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES HANDICAP TROT
LIAISON - commenced to weaken near the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
SOUTHERN DIAMOND - broke briefly at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Lay inwards striking the final track marker despite the efforts of Driver Z Butcher.
AMERICAN MUSCLE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
Race 2   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES MOBILE PACE
BOBBY BOY - over-raced middle stages.
MAJOR BREAK - raced wide until crossing to the parked position near the 1450m. Unable to maintain the back of BETA PREPARE near the 750m which enabled SHAKE A LEG to shift down to fill the position. Weakened final turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the Trainer's request which revealed no abnormality.
CHANGE TACT - pre-raced warmed. Lay outwards over the concluding stages.
ALWAYS B YOU - paced roughly for several strides entering the first turn.
DOMINUS - back from position throughout the score up despite the efforts of Driver T Cameron. A warning was placed on gelding's barrier manners. Paced roughly when weakening rounding the final turn.
TUAREG - broke late in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
BILLY THE KID - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 3   GALLAGHER INSURANCE YOUNG GUNS 2YO F SERIES HEAT 1 MOB PACE
JUSTYOUWAIT - paced roughly shortly after the start. When questioned regarding the performance Driver C Dalgety advised the filly had over-raced when leading which had taken its toll.
WON AND ONLY - Co-trainers B Purdon & S Phelan were warned for presenting the filly with removable deafeners not notified.
SWEET DIOR - weakened rounding the final turn.
IM SANDRA DEE - over-raced middle stages.
CHRISTIES ART - Co-trainers S & A Telfer admitted a breach of Rule 865(2) for presenting the filly without the notified blinds and were issued a fine of $150 by the Adjudicative Committee.
Race 4   HAPPY 70TH PHIL KELLY MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared at the first attempt when THE MIGHTY SULLY checked MCKENDRICK early in the score up. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
NELSON'S BOY - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
MCKENDRICK - locked wheels with ARTISAN near the 300m losing all chance. Driver B Orange was questioned regarding this incident and advised that he had attempted to follow JOLIMONT when MIKI SHAN shifted wider passing the 400m but MCKENDRICK had lay in when in restricted room which resulted in the locking of wheels with the weakening ARTISAN. Given the circumstances Stewards took the matter no further other than to note the circumstances
THE MIGHTY SULLY - raced greenly and lay outwards rounding the final turn. Again raced greenly near the 150m striking markers. Weakened in the run home.
ARTISAN - weakened from the 400m then locked wheels with MCKENDRICK near the 300m losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
MIKI SHAN - raced wide early and middle stages before being restrained to the rear near the 1200m.
DONTSTOPMENOW - raced wide for a distance passing the 900m.
BROOKIES JAFFA - lay inwards and contacted several track markers with one being dislodged near the 450m.
Race 5   BRECKON FARMS YOUNG GUNS 2YO C & G SERIES HEAT 1 MOB PACE
SUGAR RAY LINCOLN - paced roughly shortly after the start. Broke passing the 1400m hampering trailing runners losing ground. Hampered near the 650m losing further ground and was not persevered with. When questioned Driver M McKendry confirmed that the gelding had paced roughly at various stages and had proved to be disappointing.
DEMON BLUE - slow early. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400m.
ITS ELECTRIFYING - broke briefly shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
GREAT WHITE - lay inwards when weakening in the run home.
I GOT CHILLS - Co-trainers B Purdon and S Phelan were warned for presenting the gelding with an incorrect saddle cloth number. Over-raced middle stages.
INFAMEE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400m. Paced roughly near the 650m hampering a trailing runner.
Race 6   PASCOES THE JEWELLERS NORTHERN OAKS MOB PACE
COASTAL BABE - a post-race veterinary examination at the Trainer's request revealed signs of a respiratory infection. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
FLYING ELLIE - held up early final turn. Driver C Ferguson admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Ferguson's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 30 March up to and including 13 April 2024 (7 days).
AKATEA - weakened final turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off fore leg with connections advising the filly will be further examined by the stable veterinarian. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
RUBY ROE - when questioned regarding the performance Driver N Williamson advised that the filly may not have backed up and that racing without cover from the 1300m had taken its toll.
ULTIMATE RACY GIRL - pre-raced warmed.
TREACHEROUS BABY - held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
DUCHESS MEGXIT - pre-raced warmed.
Race 7   WOODLANDS STUD NORTHERN DERBY MOB PACE
HADRON COLLIDER - raced roughly late in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Over-raced middle stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
WE WALK BY FAITH - shifted outwards near the 200m checking MAJOR HOT which had to be steadied resulting in interference to CHASE A DREAM. Driver M Purdon defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Drivers M White and N Rasmussen the Adjudicative Committee found the charge to be proven and suspended Mr Purdon's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 1 April 2024 (4 days).
THE SURFER - over-raced middle stages.
MAJOR HOT - raced wide early. Checked near the 200m hampering a trailing runner.
JEREMIAH - raced wide early and middle stages before being restrained to the rear near the 2000m. Raced wide with cover from the 1600m.
DREAMS ARE FREE - raced wide early. Raced wide without cover from the 1600m.
CHASE A DREAM - paced roughly for several strides passing the 2400m. Held up early stages of the run home and was then checked and broke near the 200m losing its chance. Driver N Rasmussen reported that the colt had got his tongue over the bit and had proved difficult to steer.
CHRISTOPHER DANCE - raced wide early.
VESSEM - raced wide early. Held up early stages of the run home.

OLD TOWN ROAD - lay inwards in the run home despite the efforts of Driver J Dickie and raced over the final track marker.
ALTA WISEGUY - raced keenly middle stages.
Race 9   CLASSIQUE LANDSCAPERS MOBILE PACE
AYE AYE CAPTAIN - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
JACCKA COOPER - underwent a veterinary examination after having raced last evening at the Cambridge meeting and was cleared to start.
MANTRA - raced roughly as the start was effected.
Race 10   LONE STAR ALEXANDRA PARK HANDICAP TROT
ARADNE - late scratching at 9.05pm on veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
ALDEBARAN PIPPI - lay inwards striking a track marker near the 1300m. Driver B Hackett accidently dropped his whip passing the 100m.
DRAGONS SUNRISE - trotted roughly throughout the running. Lay inwards striking track markers near the 750m. Placed in restricted room near the 350m then commenced to weaken and broke near the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
RUBY RIDGE - lay inwards placing an inside runner in restricted room near the 350m.
LUBY LILL - when questioned regarding the performance Driver T Herlihy could offer no tangible reason.
A TROPHY WIFE - held up final bend.
